About: I have hands-on experience caring for dogs and cats of all ages, including puppies, senior and hospice pets, rescues, and multi-pet households. I approach every animal with patience, attentiveness, and respect for their individual routines and needs. I’m comfortable administering medication, supporting senior and mobility care, and monitoring behavior or health changes. I have extensive experience with shy and fearful cats and never force interaction, allowing pets to set the pace while prioritizing comfort, safety, and consistency I work Monday through Thursday from 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, with Fridays through Sundays off. Outside of my scheduled work hours, my time is dedicated to caring for animals. I am available for early morning visits and walks between 5:00 AM–7:00 AM, as well as evening visits and walks from 6:00 PM–9:00 PM during the workweek. On weekends, I have open availability and can be more flexible with scheduling. My goal is to provide reliable, consistent care while working within a structured schedule that allows me to be fully present during each visit. Whether caring for pets in my home or in a client’s home, safety, consistency, and respect are always my top priorities. I understand how important it is to trust someone with both your pets and your space, and I take that responsibility seriously. In a client’s home, I closely follow all provided instructions and maintain your pet’s normal routine to reduce stress. I perform a safety check at each visit, ensuring doors, gates, and windows are secure, and I use leashes or secure harnesses at all times. I do not allow off-leash activity under any circumstances. This policy is in place to prioritize safety and prevent accidents, escapes, or unexpected encounters. All walks and outdoor time are fully supervised and controlled. I pay close attention to body language, behavior, and stress signals to prevent overstimulation or unsafe situations. For senior, medical, or hospice pets, I prioritize gentle handling, comfort, and close observation. I keep the environment calm, clean, and organized, and I treat your home with care and respect at all times. I provide regular updates and photos so you can feel confident and informed while you’re away. My goal is always to create a safe, trustworthy, and low-stress environment where pets feel secure and cared for.

About: Most dogs aren't badly behaved. They're stressed, confused, or never taught how to communicate what they need. I spent a year training in person under Tess Erngren, founder of GoodDog Academy in Oslo and one of Scandinavia's most established voices in reward-based, fear-free dog behavior work, alongside my own husky, learning hands-on. That year, and everything my own dog has taught me since, still shapes how I work today. I have pet first aid knowledge from that training as well as general first aid experience. Eight years ago, my first husky changed how I see training completely. A puppy class on fear-free, positive reinforcement methods showed me that most of what I thought I knew about training was actually about control, not trust. Force-free doesn't mean soft. It means real structure, built through a dog's own agency instead of fear and appeasement. I don't use an aversive of any kind: no e-collars, no prong or choke collars, no corrections meant to intimidate. Letting a dog choose what to sniff, where to go, and when to disengage builds confidence, not just compliance. That philosophy is the same whether I'm walking a husky who needs to run their nose for an hour, or sitting with a bichon who just wants a calm lap and a familiar routine. A session with me might look like decompression walks, nose work, or simply unstructured time to explore, whatever that particular dog needs that day. I offer walks, in-home drop-in visits, house sitting, and 1:1 training, along with basic husbandry support like nail trims and brushing. My training sessions aren't about teaching your dog to perform on command. I teach you the tools and principles: communication, timing, and how to read what your dog is actually telling you, so you can train whatever you want, on your own terms. My schedule is fully flexible, mornings, afternoons, evenings, or weekends. I'm happy to work around whatever fits your dog's routine best, including last-minute requests when possible. All sessions take place at your home, so your dog stays in a familiar environment. I limit the use of crates as much as possible, dogs do best with freedom and choice, but if your dog is already crate-trained and calm in one, a short session is fine. I offer meet and greets whenever that's helpful. When meeting a new dog, I let them come to me rather than approaching directly, stay relaxed and at their level, and pay close attention to their body language so the introduction happens at their pace, not mine.

Ivy has been absolutely amazing over the past month. She was able to hop right in two days after our little pup came home, and has been a godsend on my in-office days. Gilly loves her and enjoys playing and snuggles. I would definitely recommend her for her excellent communication, demeanor, and professionalism, and even as our pup moves to Puppy Preschool, we will still be working with Ivy whenever we need a sitter or a drop-in.

About: I've taken care of dogs and cats for 15+ years, and currently live with 4 fur babies! I have experience with pet-sitting (short and long term), walking dogs, changing doggy diapers, and managing the BIG personalities of small friends together. Friends and family have continuously trusted me to treat their pets as my own while they're away. I'd love the opportunity to meet yours! I have a bit of an irregular schedule for another job, but I will never agree to a time that I cannot commit to. Most of my days are open, however, so I have plenty of time and energy to pour into the pets! I will provide exceptional care to your pet and your home! I am detail-oriented and can take on any care plan with ease. I also value respecting not just the animal(s), but the home and environment that they live in. Trust all around is my top priority!

About: I've had dogs all my life. We just just put our dog down after 12 years from being raised as a puppy. Our family isn't ready for a new dog yet, but we love the company! As a teacher, my summer is dedicated to being home and active! I am looking forward to a summer filled with backyard play and plenty of attention for our guest pups. Since we’ll be home the vast majority of the time, your dog will have constant companionship. While we might head out for the occasional short day trip or camp drop-off, our schedule is primarily centered around being home, making us very flexible for drop-offs, pick-ups, and mid-day belly rubs! Your pup’s safety is our top priority! We have a fully fenced-in backyard where dogs can safely run, play, and explore under constant supervision. Our home is a family environment with three kids who are taught to be gentle and respectful with animals, so we do require that any guest dogs be kid-friendly. Inside, we have stairs, so please let us know if your pup has any mobility issues or needs assistance. We are also happy to crate your dog for meals or naps if that is what they are used to at home. Since we currently have no other pets, your dog will receive 100% of our attention and love during their stay

About: While this is my first time as a sitter/walker on an app like this I am very experienced with animals including dogs and cats. I am experienced with dog walking and caring for pet’s basic needs. I currently have a very open schedule so I will be able to visit or walk your pets with little scheduling conflicts. I will be attending community college in the fall starting in late August but I will update my schedule when it does change. I take safety for pets extremely seriously. Doors are a high alert area because I know how sneaky some pets can be once a door is opened. I have my own experience with stopping my own dogs and even cats from getting out either by body blocking the door or picking the cats up and moving them to a safe place. While on walks I like to keep my dogs at my side and always stay clear of other dogs or animals.

About: No such thing as a dog too big! Growing up with several dogs in my family home, I truly view them as a part of our families. With a belief in positive reinforcement and redirection, your dog will have a fun, stress-free time; making our home their home for the duration of their stay. Having gone through the puppy stage several times, including within the past year, I can assure you our patience is tried and tested, and that I carry an attitude in which it is imperative to maintain respect for the individual temperament of each dog. Some breeds I have experience with include: pitbulls, labs, dobermans, cane corsos, boxers, and mastiffs. I have trained my dogs in basic obedience, all with varying degrees of energy level, stubbornness, and intelligence 🙃. While size does not matter, all dogs who enter our home must be child and dog friendly. **To ensure the safety and comfort of everyone involved, meet and greets are mandatory without exception before boarding or daycare. This can take place at a dog-friendly park, or our backyard if you would like to see our home.** *Smoke and alcohol free home *Large fenced backyard *Almost always home I am a full time stay at home mom to a 3.5 year old as well as 1 year old male (neutered) dog. We do not leave him home alone for more than three hours, so your dog would have human companionship and access to the outdoors at almost all times! Our dog is no longer using one, so we have a large crate that your dog is welcome to use if that is what they are accustomed to or have any destructive tendencies when left alone. Our dog gets lot's of love and exercise. We make sure he practices good manners with daily basic training and keep him happy with enrichment activities, walks, and plenty of scratches. We never leave him outside unattended and he is ALWAYS leashed if outside of the backyard fence. I have had three dogs as an adult, and none have ever escaped.

About: I currently have 2 dogs that I’ve trained from puppies. I’ve pet sit for my brother for the last 5 years. A day hasn’t gone by in the last 10 years that I’m not out walking dogs. I’ve cared for senior dogs as well as puppies and love them all. I currently work 2-3 days a week with a rotating schedule but am available every morning and night as well as most weekends. My schedule is extremely flexible. I have a fenced in yard in a great neighborhood. Both my dogs are extremely friendly and always looking for another friend to play with.

About: Open home with no children or other animals. All sizes of cats and dogs welcome! I hope your baby likes fun and affection because this is the place for it! I've had pets most of my life, and enjoy having happy wagging tails and purrs of contentment nearby. Pet families welcome too! Pet sitting fits seamlessly into my weekly routine, providing a meaningful way to blend responsibility with care. Each visit is thoughtfully scheduled to ensure consistency, creating a sense of comfort and safety for the pets. I prioritize secure environments, always double-checking doors, gates, and feeding instructions to protect their wellbeing. My growing knowledge of animal behavior helps me recognize what each pet needs, whether it’s a calming walk, playtime, or quiet companionship. This attentiveness brings peace of mind to pet owners and happiness to the animals, making pet sitting not just a task, but a fulfilling and trusted part of my week. When caring for a pet in someone else’s home, I prioritize trust and respect in every action I take. I understand that I’m being welcomed into a personal space, and I treat it with the same care and consideration I would expect in return. I follow all instructions closely, from feeding schedules to house rules, to ensure the pet remains comfortable and routines are maintained. I respect the home by keeping it clean and secure, and I always communicate openly with the owners, providing updates for peace of mind. Above all, I build trust by being reliable, thoughtful, and fully focused on the wellbeing of both the pet and the home.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of July 2026, there are 3,822 sitters on Rover offering Dog Sitting across Ecorse. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

A pet sitter can provide focused care sessions, help your pet’s routine stay on track, or keep you updated on your pet’s mood and energy levels.

Whether you’re at the office for the day or traveling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer potty breaks during a Ecorse stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. For daytime services like walking and drop-ins, you can also request sitters to send a report card with every visit.

Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover to what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Ecorse choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover Card updates, and same-day cancellations.

To find sitters in Ecorse with recurring or weekly availability, select "Repeat Weekly" and which days you’d like them to care for your pet.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Ecorse. On Rover:

  • 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 98% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
