“I am so happy to have chosen to leave my little Jazz with Tonya! Her little boys and her fur babies were a delight and were very receptive of him! When I picked him up, Tonya had him looking so good and fluffy…I could tell she had taken time to brush him🙂 She was really patient with him and I most definitely would like to book with Tonya again in the future!”

“So happy I booked with Kayla to sit my pup while I was on vacation. She kept my mind at ease with all the pictures and the updates. I felt confident she would treat my dog right. I definitely plan on booking with her again in the near future.”

About: I have been an animal lover my entire life and had dogs in my own home for 10+ years. I have had experience ranging from raising and training puppies to caring for senior dogs with special needs such as blindness and diabetes. I work remotely from my home and will make sure your pet has all the attention that they need. While I have your pet I will ensure they are only left alone briefly for necessary errands. I have a fenced backyard and one well mannered if energetic pup. Your dog will receive as much love and care as my own. From snuggles on the couch to long walks around the neighborhood and games of fetch in the back yard.
“Vanessa is wonderful!!! She took care of Baker for two nights. Lots of walks and photos throughout his stay. She treated him like her own with lots of snuggles. We are so grateful, and we’ll definitely stay with her again!”

About: I've had dogs all my life. We just just put our dog down after 12 years from being raised as a puppy. Our family isn't ready for a new dog yet, but we love the company! As a teacher, my summer is dedicated to being home and active! I am looking forward to a summer filled with backyard play and plenty of attention for our guest pups. Since we’ll be home the vast majority of the time, your dog will have constant companionship. While we might head out for the occasional short day trip or camp drop-off, our schedule is primarily centered around being home, making us very flexible for drop-offs, pick-ups, and mid-day belly rubs! Your pup’s safety is our top priority! We have a fully fenced-in backyard where dogs can safely run, play, and explore under constant supervision. Our home is a family environment with three kids who are taught to be gentle and respectful with animals, so we do require that any guest dogs be kid-friendly. Inside, we have stairs, so please let us know if your pup has any mobility issues or needs assistance. We are also happy to crate your dog for meals or naps if that is what they are used to at home. Since we currently have no other pets, your dog will receive 100% of our attention and love during their stay

About: I’ve had childhood animals as well as my own of all shapes and sizes. I’ve fostered multiple dogs at a time. I work from home so I will be with your pet all day. I have experience with sick dogs as well that may need medication on a schedule. I work from home so I’ll be available for your pet all day. I’m available for boarding, dog walking, or potty breaks mon-sun. I have a fenced yard and 3 children ages 12, 4, and 2 that would love on your pet all day long. I have room for a crate if your dog needs one as well.
“Our dog Zoey is always so happy to stay with Allesha and her dogs! Allesha is fast and quick with correspondence and takes good care of our dog. We are happy repeat customers. Thank you!”

“Jess was very accommodating on a last minute trip I had planned. She was very flexible with my schedule and availability to meet. I was extremely nervous as this was my first time utilizing Rover, as I usually book with PetSmart but I wanted to make sure my senior dog was well taken care of as boarding can be stressful for older dogs. Once we had the meet and greet, my dogs immediately loved Jess. She made sure that their routine stayed as close to the same as at home to ensure their comfort, and sent pictures and updates daily (which I loved). Even when we picked our dogs up, they still wanted to play and love on her so I knew they had a blast. If you’re wary about booking with Jess, this review is for you, she was absolutely awesome.”

“My high-energy dog loves staying here! He’s gets lots of outside playing time and they send many pictures and videos. Natalia always responds quickly and is very accommodating!”

“Connie and Terry are the absolute best! They took care of our (high maintenance) guy like he was their own, sent us great updates, and were so flexible and understanding. I so appreciate that they didn't make me feel like a bother when I checked in between updates. They unexpectedly had two foster puppies during Wally's stay, but they were certain to ensure they played well together and were separated as needed. Their expansive experience with dogs absolutely shows in how they handled the situation and responded to our dog's vocalizations toward the puppies. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone. Thank you so much for giving our boy a great vacation and giving us peace of mind on ours!”

“Kimberly took such great care of my two girls. I couldn’t ask for a better person to leave them with. We were gone for a long trip and she always sent pics and cute videos to fill our hearts while we were missing them! Could not recommend her enough. So grateful we found her!”

“Efi was amazing! Her and her family provided a safe and inviting space for both boys. She reached out the day before their stay. This let me know that she was serious as she had initiated the contact. She kept us up to date with photos throughout the entire duration of their stay. We had a pretty busy trip, but it was great to receive those updates! She was super flexible about drop-off and pick-up times (within reason) and this was very helpful because our travel plans evolved a bit after having booked. I would 100% recommend her! Thank you so much!”

“Kira's been our rover since we moved to Detroit, and our dog's hung out with her and her dog many times at this point. Our dog clearly loves staying over, which is rare for her, and it speaks to Kira's ability to care for animals and be responsible and present. Will continue to trust her with my dog for as long as she's willing!”

“Meredith was super kind, lovely and made my little Bichon Frisé felt totally at home. She updated me with videos and pictures constantly even describing how my little one was feeling each day. Definitely I’ll book Meredith again, she is the best!”

“We have found Bailey's other people! Bailey literally turned her back on me when i picked her up and wouldn't "talk" to us the whole ride home 😂 she was clearly very comfortable with Emily's family and we won't hesitate a second to book with her again! Emily loved our Bailey like she was her own, taking her for runs, snagging Pup Cups from Starbucks, and sharing all the toys a pup could need with Bailey. She provided wonderful photo updates the entire visit and made sure we knew how well Bailey was fitting in in their home. We are so happy Emily took a chance on our Bailey (she's not a fan of other dogs so finding a home where she can be the only dog is though) and didn't treat her like she was a problem like other boarders/sitters have in the past. Thank you so so much! She's be back to visit without question!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Ecorse
I was beyond impressed with how much I could tell that she loved dogs. I was actually pretty nervous about leaving Tonic with a pet sitter, first time jitters. But I'm extremely pleased to say that those fears were unwarranted. I would gladly rebook her and I will definitely be recommending her to my friends.

Our Charlie had a wonderful time with Erin! Erin went above and beyond caring for her - especially with the additional circumstances of Charlie experiencing her first heat. We had absolutely no worries and were updated frequently with lots of photos. Will definitely look to have Erin watch Charlie again in the future!

I had so much anxiety leaving my dog with someone new but Hannah made this experience amazing. She provided updates/pictures/videos of Finn that set my mind at ease. When I brought Finn home he quickly passed out, and for him that is a sign of complete satisfaction. I highly recommend Hannah!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MI ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
