“I am so happy to have chosen to leave my little Jazz with Tonya! Her little boys and her fur babies were a delight and were very receptive of him! When I picked him up, Tonya had him looking so good and fluffy…I could tell she had taken time to brush him🙂 She was really patient with him and I most definitely would like to book with Tonya again in the future!”

“Catalina did an excellent job taking care of my cat. She sent us pictures and updates daily. Her communication is really impressive. She had a separate room arrangement for our cat until she was ready to meet the host’s 2 cats which I really appreciated. I would definitely book her again if I need pet sitting.”

About: Hi! I’m Nicole. I’m a retired professional petsitter/dog walker of 10+ years and have experience with a variety of breeds, sizes, and ages. I’m comfortable giving oral medications, insulin shots, and catering to special dietary needs. I’ve been working from home recently and would love to have some dog friends to keep me company. I own my home and have a HUGE fenced in yard that is great for fetch, and dog friends are welcome on the furniture. Dogs that love to go for walks are a plus because honestly, I feel weird going for walks without one lol. Dogs must be cat friendly! I’m a homebody by nature and rarely am away from home for more than a couple of hours, if I do go out I typically will separate my cats and my dog friends as an additional safety precaution. I don’t crate dogs unless it’s a typical part of their routine. I’m unable to accommodate dogs from multiple households.
“So happy I booked with Kayla to sit my pup while I was on vacation. She kept my mind at ease with all the pictures and the updates. I felt confident she would treat my dog right. I definitely plan on booking with her again in the near future.”

“Theresa and AK were wonderful to work with and we would highly recommend them. The meet and greet was really helpful in making sure it was a good fit and being able to discuss the arrangements beforehand. They are quick and reliable communicators and we felt confident and comfortable that our two dogs were in good hands. We dropped off our dogs for our wedding weekend and never once had to worry about them thanks to regular updates and checkins from Theresa and AK. Thank you both!”

“Kerri did a great job watching Bella. We always miss her when she is away, but knowing she was in a kind home made us rested.Kerri gave us daily texts and pictures. We will definitely be taking Bella back.”

“Alicia is always great? She’s Athena’s go to sitter. Athena gets so excited when we pull up to her house. She loves on Athena like she’s her own. I’ve used her over 5x now & is conveniently located near the airport.”

“I can’t begin to express the love my Romeo and I have for Jailyn! My pup had to do an extended stay since we’re moving and she took care of my baby as if he was her own!! Always keeping me updated with texts and photos! She will always be his sitter!”

About: I started dog sitting when I was a young teenager, but I didn’t have my own dog until 2019. Since then I’ve been able to watch friends and family members dogs. I used Rover services for my own dog and realized it would be fun to care for others’ pets and provide play dates for my dog at the same time. I work from home Monday-Friday and we’re typically home on weekends. My dog is friendly and happy to play with others or relax all day. We have a fenced in yard and are very focused on safety. We have plenty of sidewalks to take walks on. I allow dogs on furniture and have plenty of dog beds and toys.
“Jordan is very friendly and super responsive to messages; her dogs are adorable, too. She treated our pup as her own. She was also super accommodating as our dog needs medication four times a day and has crazy feeding times due to my husband's work schedule, and she had no problem with that. She was also willing to keep our dog even though she has high anxiety, and Daisy appeared to be very calm and relaxed in the photos Jordan sent. The fenced in yard is also reassuring. I highly recommend Jordan!”

“Makayla did an amazing job watching my dog, Kumo. I know she was in great hands with such a reliable and caring pet sitter. Makayla kept me updated regularly, which gave me much peace of mind while I was away.”

“I can’t rave enough about the care our dog Stella received. Pallavi and her husband provided tons of feedback, photos, videos of our dog while under their care. Our dog was well cared for and loved. Highly recommend”

“Dawn was wonderful with my puppy George. I was little nervous leaving him for the first time but she put my nerves at ease. I could tell when I came to pick hime up he was well cared for and happy. I will for sure be using her again in the future.”

“We had one of the best boarding experiences on Rover! We had a sudden change of trip plan that put us in a tight scheduling spot but Tara and her family were extremely kind to accommodate a last-minute request for boarding our five-year-old Border Collie. Our family was able to enjoy our trip worry-free trip due to Tara's frequent text updates about Astor, accompanied by photos and videos of him looking relaxed and happy. We look forward to visiting Tara and her family again!”

“Kayla took great care of my baby Chico. She was very nice and sent messages and updates the whole time during his stay with her. I would definitely recommend her. My dog don’t even walk with me because he’s lazy and he was walking with her. She’s the dog whisperer. Love her”

“This was Gibson's first time with Leslie and she was excellent. She was caring and attentive to his needs as a senior fur baby. She took him on walks and sent us pictures of him, which meant a lot to us. The experience for us was great!!”

About: I have been an animal lover my entire life and had dogs in my own home for 10+ years. I have had experience ranging from raising and training puppies to caring for senior dogs with special needs such as blindness and diabetes. I work remotely from my home and will make sure your pet has all the attention that they need. While I have your pet I will ensure they are only left alone briefly for necessary errands. I have a fenced backyard and one well mannered if energetic pup. Your dog will receive as much love and care as my own. From snuggles on the couch to long walks around the neighborhood and games of fetch in the back yard.

Robert was great with our senior dog, Diamond! He was very communicative and sent messages with photos of our girl during her 2 night stay. He was responsive to all messages and just all around pleasant. This is the first time we have boarded Diamond anywhere and she didn't come home stressed out! I will definitely book with Robert again because our dog was safe and comfortable.

Catalina did an excellent job taking care of my cat. She sent us pictures and updates daily. Her communication is really impressive. She had a separate room arrangement for our cat until she was ready to meet the host’s 2 cats which I really appreciated. I would definitely book her again if I need pet sitting.

Fantastic! From initial meeting and communication to the final pick-up, Jake operated with a tremendous level of quality and care. He asked detailed intelligent questions before drop-off to make sure everything went smoothly, sent daily pictures and updates, walked every day, and had a great time. Most professional sitter we have ever used on Rover, will absolutely be booking again. Thanks Jake!!

Our Charlie had a wonderful time with Erin! Erin went above and beyond caring for her - especially with the additional circumstances of Charlie experiencing her first heat. We had absolutely no worries and were updated frequently with lots of photos. Will definitely look to have Erin watch Charlie again in the future!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MI ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
