Kathy has been walking my pup for about two years now. She’s been so amazing, she’s always there for my baby when we need her. My dog loves her, I know I can trust and depend on her, and I know my pup is safe with her. ❤️

Don’t know what we would do without Erin - her service and attention-to-detail are world class. After every walk, Erin provides us with a nicely detailed recap of the walk. It’s nice to hear and it is great to have someone like Erin on the home team.

About: I've taken care of dogs and cats for 15+ years, and currently live with 4 fur babies! I have experience with pet-sitting (short and long term), walking dogs, changing doggy diapers, and managing the BIG personalities of small friends together. Friends and family have continuously trusted me to treat their pets as my own while they're away. I'd love the opportunity to meet yours! I have a bit of an irregular schedule for another job, but I will never agree to a time that I cannot commit to. Most of my days are open, however, so I have plenty of time and energy to pour into the pets! I will provide exceptional care to your pet and your home! I am detail-oriented and can take on any care plan with ease. I also value respecting not just the animal(s), but the home and environment that they live in. Trust all around is my top priority!

About: I've had dogs all my life. We just just put our dog down after 12 years from being raised as a puppy. Our family isn't ready for a new dog yet, but we love the company! As a teacher, my summer is dedicated to being home and active! I am looking forward to a summer filled with backyard play and plenty of attention for our guest pups. Since we’ll be home the vast majority of the time, your dog will have constant companionship. While we might head out for the occasional short day trip or camp drop-off, our schedule is primarily centered around being home, making us very flexible for drop-offs, pick-ups, and mid-day belly rubs! Your pup’s safety is our top priority! We have a fully fenced-in backyard where dogs can safely run, play, and explore under constant supervision. Our home is a family environment with three kids who are taught to be gentle and respectful with animals, so we do require that any guest dogs be kid-friendly. Inside, we have stairs, so please let us know if your pup has any mobility issues or needs assistance. We are also happy to crate your dog for meals or naps if that is what they are used to at home. Since we currently have no other pets, your dog will receive 100% of our attention and love during their stay

About: While I don't currently have any pets of my own, my experience with pets started before I could walk. I grew up on a farm and my family owned a nonprofit pet adoption company. We rescued dogs and cats and placed them in forever homes. Honestly this part of my life was the best. Now at 35, I work from home and my schedule has opened up. I miss caring for animals and I would love to assist you with yours. Let’s connect! I currently work from home, so as long as you have WiFi- We’re golden! My job is not demanding where i must sit at the computer 8 hours a day, grateful for that. So dog walks, potty breaks, play sessions will be no problem. I totally understand the stress of trying to plan a trip and having to worry about your pet. Pets are like family and leaving them with a stranger isn’t easy. Let alone having a stranger in your house. I get that. I will do my best to stick to the routine that you have set for your pet. Whether that be going on daily walks, playing with them with their favorite toy, or making sure they get all the love and attention they would normally get if you were home. I understand the responsibility of having to wake up early to make sure your dog goes potty and also throughout the day.

Keana does a great job for our new little guy Captain and Captain is super happy to see her when she gets here. She makes sure he gets bathroom breaks, food, and water, even takes time to play with him before she puts back in his kennel with a few treats.

About: Hi! I’m Brooke, a college student studying Elementary Education at UM-Dearborn and a lifelong animal lover. I have experience caring for dogs of all sizes, ages, and personalities, including puppies. I previously worked in a dog care setting where I gained hands-on experience supervising, feeding, exercising, and caring for multiple dogs. I am patient, dependable, and committed to making sure your pets feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. Whether your pet needs a walk, playtime, feeding, or companionship, I’ll treat them like they’re my own. I am currently a substitute teacher, which gives me a flexible schedule throughout the school year and full availability during the summer months. During the summer, I am available for morning, afternoon, and evening walks, drop-in visits, and pet sitting. I am reliable, responsive, and committed to providing consistent care that fits your pet’s routine. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. As a dog owner myself, I understand how important it is to trust someone with your furry family member. I follow each pet’s routine, provide plenty of attention and exercise, and always ensure they are safe and secure during walks and visits. I communicate regularly with pet parents and am happy to provide updates and photos for peace of mind. I will treat your pet with the same care and love that I give my own dog.

We moved to the area in July and were really searching for a dog sitter. Our lives changed drastically when we moved as where before we moved someone was home every four hours with our dog Gabe. Moving to Wyandotte changed that as we both commute to work and coming home for lunch is not a possibility. Finding Erin was a God-send. For not only is she an awesome friend to Gabe but she is responsible, dependable and willing to switch her schedule to accommodate ours. That’s pretty hard to find no matter where you live. We trust Erin with the care of our Dog and this is very important for a special needs dog. I can tell you with certainty that WHEN you hire ERIN you get someone who puts your dog as #1. Erin is not only our dogs best buddy but also becoming our friend as well. Gabe’s ears raise to attention when we say “Erin is coming today.” Gabe makes happy noises when Erin comes into the house. Wait maybe God-send is an understatement. Erin has blessed our lives by being that special someone we can trust to come into our house, take our dog for a walk, spend meaningful times with him and leave the house as secure as she found it. Friends like Erin and her husband are the kind of folks you want to have more of in your lives. They are both great people and will not leave you disappointed. In fact you will rest at ease knowing that the care of your family member is in the care of Erin. Most of my reviews I joke around - but I wanted to leave a review from the pit of my heart so you know how we feel about Erin as our sitter.

Group walks are a good fit for social dogs who enjoy structured walks. If your dog prefers the energy of a group stroll, ask your dog walker about group walks in your Southgate. Since all dog walkers are local, they may have a neighborhood dog who is a good walking companion to yours.

  • 94% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 98% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
