“Leslie was a great dog sitter for our pup, Jackson! She was very kind and took the time to get to know all of the important aspects of our dog. She sent us daily updates with pictures so we would know how things were going, and took great care of Jackson with plenty of walks and playtime.”

“Kristin is awesome. Period. You will not find a better person to care for your dog(s). I truly appreciated the daily updates and pictures. Never a doubt that my dogs received anything but the best from Kristin.”

“I highly recommend Manu for any dog boarding. She was very easy to communicate with and kept us updated with photos. Our shepherd/husky cross is a pretty big and energetic girl, but Manu kept her busy and happy. Manu made everything simple and clearly takes great care of our dog.”

“Our boys always have the best vacation with Kerri! We feel so comfortable leaving our crazy furballs as they enjoy the very best care. We cannot thank you enough for your amazingness!!!”

“Theresa and Adrian were wonderful, we had absolute peace of mind that our dog Gemma was being well loved and taken care of. Early on Gemma had a few nights of late night barking and fussing and they went above and beyond to comfort her until she settled in. Thank you for taking such great care of Gemma. Frequent updates and great communication were very much appreciated also.”

“Snickers hadn’t stayed at a “stranger’s” house in years but she adapted well at Paula’s. Snickers thinks that she is too old to play but apparently she LOVED Paula’s big back yard. Snickers was in good spirits when I picked her up and I would definitely use her again.”

“Had a great experience with Katey taking care of our dog. She kept us updated on the dog and sent pictures daily. She has a lovely home, great big yard, and nice family. I'm surprised that the dog wanted to go home.”

“Lindsey was an incredibly caring and loving caregiver for my senior pug. She thoughtfully updated us with pictures and updates while we were away and she was very flexible with pickup and drop off times. So happy we found her. ♡”

“Megan watched my 12yr old Maltese for 5 days, and was a wonderful sitter. He came home happy and tired from all his play time with new friends. Bentley looks forward to visiting with Megan and Milo.”

“Had a great experience with Emily!! Emily cared for our dog as her own! Positive experience from beginning to end. So glad we found her and we will be using her again!! Thank you Emily”

About: I’ve had dogs almost my whole life. I am able to administer medication, give baths, take walks and give all the belly rubs needed. My goal one day is to foster dogs and cats, caring for your fur baby will give me all the experience I need to care for other animals until I have the space to do it. I just love them all! I generally work from home with a very lenient schedule. My kids are all grown and out of the house leaving me with a lot of free time. I just have one dog and one cat, but I would love to love more!! I do not have a fenced yard so I would be walking your dog for potty breaks. I do have a crate I can use in home if needed. For doggy day care we would schedule a meet and greet beforehand. I am available almost anytime for walks and feeding if necessary. For cats I am available for feeding and litter box cleaning.
“Harley felt right at home at Karen’s. Karen sent pictures regularly and even FaceTimed one night. We would definitely recommend her to others and plan to use her again next year!”

“Wow! Lovely family, took excellent care of our dog for the week while we were out of town. Communicated promptly. We had an issue with a delayed flight and they went above and beyond to accommodate. Could not have asked for a better experience. So thankful for this family, we know Max enjoyed his time and was well cared for. Would definitely use Yvonne to care for our pet again in the future.”

“George is the best of the best! It was apparent I made the right decision on who I was leaving my dog with within a couple minutes of meeting George, he’s very well knowledgeable and clearly knows how to handle doggies! (my pup literally listened better to him then he does me ha!) It was obvious through the pics I was sent that my pupper Callaway had the best time while my boyfriend and I were out of town for the week! There’s plenty of room at george’s place for the pup to run around and play, which was priority since I have a very energetic dog! Callaway frequently experienced separation anxiety so it was such a relief to find a place for him to go where he feels comfortable enough to be his playful self! He settled in almost immediately and barely whined while he was left alone in his kennel there, which was very out of the ordinary for our dog. and now back at home he’s been wayy less stressed when we have to leave him alone to go to work! I think he built some confidence there for sure, which wouldn’t have been possible without him having that comfortable environment. Thank you George for your awesome services, 10/10 recommend and will 100% be back the next time we have to leave town! :)”

“Andrea was the best. I have been using rover for over 5 years and she has by far been the best with my pup and in every other aspect. Great communication. Daily photos and updates. Walked my pup daily.”

Fantastic! From initial meeting and communication to the final pick-up, Jake operated with a tremendous level of quality and care. He asked detailed intelligent questions before drop-off to make sure everything went smoothly, sent daily pictures and updates, walked every day, and had a great time. Most professional sitter we have ever used on Rover, will absolutely be booking again. Thanks Jake!!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MI ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
