“The regular updates and seeing how immediately comfortable my dogs were alleviated any worries I had about leaving them. Alisa even accommodated a delayed flight so I could pick them up straight from the airport! The room the dogs were set up in had a giant bed for them, which is great because I’ve always allowed them on furniture and am so glad to see how cozy they were. Alisa really is a total professional and so organized, I felt so relieved knowing she was watching them!”

About: Hi! I’m Nicole. I’m a retired professional petsitter/dog walker of 10+ years and have experience with a variety of breeds, sizes, and ages. I’m comfortable giving oral medications, insulin shots, and catering to special dietary needs. I’ve been working from home recently and would love to have some dog friends to keep me company. I own my home and have a HUGE fenced in yard that is great for fetch, and dog friends are welcome on the furniture. Dogs that love to go for walks are a plus because honestly, I feel weird going for walks without one lol. Dogs must be cat friendly! I’m a homebody by nature and rarely am away from home for more than a couple of hours, if I do go out I typically will separate my cats and my dog friends as an additional safety precaution. I don’t crate dogs unless it’s a typical part of their routine. I’m unable to accommodate dogs from multiple households.
“Great overall! She communicates (sometimes a bit often), but you can tell it’s in her caring nature. She was able to go to rescue my baby after a Rover sitter left him home alone while I was out of town due to an “emergency”. Beverly was there step by step and I wouldn’t know what I would’ve done without her stepping in to get a ride to my place, pack him and his things, and take him in for boarding. She sent me pics and videos to ensure he was well taken care of. I would book with her again!”

“Paula is great. She provides a clean house, has expertise to keep order over the dogs, and has a great fenced yard. This was my first occasion boarding my beloved Bo, and was glad to be able to leave him in a place where he would get to hang with other good-natured dogs and have a yard to play for a change. Paula attended to our needs and my concerns. I wish she were closer for general "play dates", but if you are going to/from DTW, it's a very easy drop off and pick up.”

“Juju enjoyed spending holidays with Tiffany and her family. All her dogs were not only friendly, but also well-trained. They were a great company for Juju. Tiffany sent me a couple of pictures everyday and kept me informed of how Juju was doing. Every member of her family seemed to know how to handle dogs. I did not have to worry about anything during my holidays. I’m sure Juju wants to go back to her place again. She is a great dog sitter.”

“We read great reviews about Nicolle and they were not wrong our mocha baby loved her and she made us feel at peace that Mocha was in good hands. Thank you to Nicole and her family”

“My wife and I were traveling out of town and couldn't bring our dog Chloe with us. We found Andria and her husband here on Rover and felt that they would be a great fit with Chloe, and boy, we were right! Once we booked, she suggested a meet-and-greet, and we really appreciated that. We discussed expectations for boarding and Chloe's needs and routines. When it was time for Chloe's stay, drop off was stress-free, and we felt confident driving away that Chloe was in good hands. During our travels, we received regular photo updates of Chloe's adventures during her stay. We also appreciated Andria and her family including Chloe in their daily routine and providing enrichment, so that Chloe wasn't just sitting in the house by herself. When we picked Chloe up, we got a full rundown of Chloe's stay. We could tell Chloe had a great time with them. I would highly recommend Andria as a Rover provider, especially for boarding. And, for those flying in and out of DTW, definitely consider Andria since she's close to DTW airport!”

“Sydney was amazing!!! Poor Charlie got sick with 2 parasites right before his visit. He was feeling much better after a few days on medication so Sydney still was willing to take him in. She continued the rest of his treatment which consisted of multiple medications at carousing times throughout the day. She continued to provide us updates through out his stay and reassured us that he was definitely on the up and up the whole time. Her location is ideal for airport travel as she is only about 10 minutes from DTW. We will absolutely use Sydney in the future!! Thank you again!”

About: For over 25 years, our home has never been without a dog. Sadly, we had to say goodbye to our beloved boy, Blue, this past year, and we deeply miss the daily joy and warmth a pet brings to a household. Right now, our family is in a transition period as our daughter heads off to college to play softball. Before we commit to a new pet of our own, we want to see how her game and travel schedule unfolds so we can ensure we have the proper time and dedication a permanent dog deserves. Caring for your pet gives us the wonderful opportunity to welcome that familiar canine joy back into our lives, while giving your dog a warm, experienced, and incredibly attentive "home away from home" where they will be treated like family. Since I work from home full-time, your pup will have constant companionship throughout the day. I am easily able to step away for regular, timely bathroom breaks, and I love using my work breaks to check in on them, stretch our legs, and truly enjoy their company. We have a fully fenced-in backyard, but please note that one portion of the fence in the back is a bit lower. Because of this, we want to ensure your pup isn't an active "fence-jumper." However, safety is my top priority! My work-from-home setup gives me full visibility of the entire backyard while I work. If there is ever any concern, I am more than happy to accompany your dog outside every time they need to do their business. Daily Routine & Preferences Once the workday wraps up, it’s all about the dogs—longer neighborhood walks and dedicated playtime are always on the horizon! I am incredibly comfortable caring for dogs of all ages, from energetic young pups to gentle seniors, provided they are fully house-trained.
“Catalina was amazing. She gave daily updates, was great at communicating and also sent pictures (whenever my cat would allow it. lol). My trip took an unexpected turn so I needed an extra day to get back home and she couldn't have been more understanding about it. I highly recommend her!”

About: I've been caring for animals all my life and have grown up with them always in the home. I work hard to make sure they feel welcomed and love while in my care since I know it can be hard for them being away from family. I have fostered and volunteered with rescues and local shelters for 10 years. I have also been a wildlife rehabber for 6 years and greatly enjoy helping all animals in need. I do currently have one dog that is back end paralyzed and loves everyone and everything. Im currently working part time from home so I will always be here with the furry friends I am caring for. I have a daily routine of getting up early, letting the doggy's outside, feeding them breakfast, going for walks when the weather allows, lots of toys to play with, feed them dinner and have a good time together. We also work on basic training and enjoying lots of love and cuddles. I have a fenced in yard, wonderful neighbors and a welcoming environment for even nervous dogs. I have baby gates set up as well to keep everyone safe.
“I had another sitter cancel last minute. With a last minute request Irma and Daniel were very communicative and took great care of my dog Pepper! She was very happy with them and plan to have them watch her again for future stays!”

“Dawn was/is great!! I’m just moving to Michigan and she was able to take Spinks short notice. I really appreciate her. Spinks had the time of his life and enjoyed playing with her dog Callie. She is very responsive and will send pics and videos of your pet.”

“I was nervous because this was the first time I'd left Picasso with someone he didn't know. Ekow was extremely kind and sent updates of a happy dog daily, which made me feel much better. We've found a new sitter and I will definitely be reaching out anytime we need a sitter. Five stars!!”

“I boarded my pup Coco with Teresa. It was Coco's first time being boarded, so she recommended I drop Coco off the evening before to see how it would go. She introduced the other boarding dogs one by one, showed me the yard, and made sure everyone was comfortable. She contacted me the next morning and mentioned it was going well with one of the other pups. Not the result we were looking for, but she handled it kindly and professionally -- and that's all I could ask for. Teresa was great to work with, and I would recommend her for boarding.”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MI ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
