“From our initial meet and greet to pick-up, Aunt Patti made us feel like we were a valued part of her family. Patti is a pet parent dream. You instantly could tell how much she loves dogs. Well stocked with toys and treats, Patti made sure my pet felt at home. Patti asked all the right questions to make sure my pet would be following the same rules we've set at home. She also made sure her yard was safe and secure for a small dog. Garvey will be returning to Aunt Patti's soon!”

“Andria and her family were so kind and took great care of my 2 dogs! They sent updates and my pups looked happy and comfortable. We will be using her again in the future!”

“We’re always so grateful for Amanda and Robert and the amazing care they give Marlo! They send tons of pictures, take her on plenty of walks, and give her lots of backyard playtime. It means so much to us knowing she’s happy, loved, and in such great hands. Thank you both for taking such wonderful care of her! ❤️”

“Sydney was amazing!!! Poor Charlie got sick with 2 parasites right before his visit. He was feeling much better after a few days on medication so Sydney still was willing to take him in. She continued the rest of his treatment which consisted of multiple medications at carousing times throughout the day. She continued to provide us updates through out his stay and reassured us that he was definitely on the up and up the whole time. Her location is ideal for airport travel as she is only about 10 minutes from DTW. We will absolutely use Sydney in the future!! Thank you again!”

About: I’ve had dogs almost my whole life. I am able to administer medication, give baths, take walks and give all the belly rubs needed. My goal one day is to foster dogs and cats, caring for your fur baby will give me all the experience I need to care for other animals until I have the space to do it. I just love them all! I generally work from home with a very lenient schedule. My kids are all grown and out of the house leaving me with a lot of free time. I just have one dog and one cat, but I would love to love more!! I do not have a fenced yard so I would be walking your dog for potty breaks. I do have a crate I can use in home if needed. For doggy day care we would schedule a meet and greet beforehand. I am available almost anytime for walks and feeding if necessary. For cats I am available for feeding and litter box cleaning.

About: I’m a warm, loving person who adores taking care of dogs. I’ve been raising and caring for pups since I was 15, so they’ve always been a big part of my heart." "My work schedule is from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM with a break at noon, which allows me to swing by home to care for the dogs or handle anything they need. My husband works from home once a week and has a schedule from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM. We have plenty of time in the afternoons, and our weekends are completely free to shower them with love!" Our home is very spacious with a backyard and a nearby park—perfect for daily walks and lots of playtime! We don't have kids, so we have all the time and love in the world to dedicate entirely to your furry family member."
“Beverly took wonderful care of my Frenchie. She was quick to make Cookie feel right at home. Sent a lot of pictures and videos. There is always some anxiety when having someone care for your pet, but I knew within an hour my Cookie was in the right place. I would recommend Beverly to anyone who needs pet care and sitting services. So much better than a kennel. Your dog will be loved and will gets lots and lots of attention and love all day and all night.”

“Leslie was a great dog sitter for our pup, Jackson! She was very kind and took the time to get to know all of the important aspects of our dog. She sent us daily updates with pictures so we would know how things were going, and took great care of Jackson with plenty of walks and playtime.”

“Lindsey was an incredibly caring and loving caregiver for my senior pug. She thoughtfully updated us with pictures and updates while we were away and she was very flexible with pickup and drop off times. So happy we found her. ♡”

“Zaniya was very attentive to my baby Bizkit. She also allowed me to text her for photos and FaceTime (when needed). He got to finally play with other dogs, be more of an outside dog (he's normally an inside dog). Although he suffered from separation anxiety as this being his first time away from my family for more than a day, he adjusted very well as an untrained puppy. I thank God for her communication and will book again when I travel again in the near future. Thanks again!”

“I had another sitter cancel last minute. With a last minute request Irma and Daniel were very communicative and took great care of my dog Pepper! She was very happy with them and plan to have them watch her again for future stays!”

“Repeat customer since 2019. Dawn is amazing! She treats my fur baby like her own and probably spoils him a little more. She’s patient, kind and dependable. We love Dawn! 🐾🫶🏾”

“Had a great experience with Emily!! Emily cared for our dog as her own! Positive experience from beginning to end. So glad we found her and we will be using her again!! Thank you Emily”

“Día is fantastic! Ellie, my senior dog, looked so happy with her. She sent a lot of pictures during the day. Ellie stayed with Dia for 15 days and I couldn’t be happier with the way Dia took care of Ellie. Highly recommended.”

“Megan watched my 12yr old Maltese for 5 days, and was a wonderful sitter. He came home happy and tired from all his play time with new friends. Bentley looks forward to visiting with Megan and Milo.”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MI ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
