“Emily went above and beyond with our sweet willow! She sent frequent updates and definitely wore my girl out! She had lots of play time and cane home a tired and happy girl. I look forward to booking with Emily again in our future ☺️”
“Robert was great with our senior dog, Diamond! He was very communicative and sent messages with photos of our girl during her 2 night stay. He was responsive to all messages and just all around pleasant. This is the first time we have boarded Diamond anywhere and she didn't come home stressed out! I will definitely book with Robert again because our dog was safe and comfortable.”

“I want to say thank you from the bottom of our hearts for taking such great care of Donatello! When we adopted him we had already had a family trip planned. We were nervous to find care for him but Anthony took it on with ease! We got so many pictures and videos we felt like we knew where he was at all times and we could see he was enjoying his puppy buddy. Would highly recommend Anthony!!!”

About: I've had dogs all my life. We just just put our dog down after 12 years from being raised as a puppy. Our family isn't ready for a new dog yet, but we love the company! As a teacher, my summer is dedicated to being home and active! I am looking forward to a summer filled with backyard play and plenty of attention for our guest pups. Since we’ll be home the vast majority of the time, your dog will have constant companionship. While we might head out for the occasional short day trip or camp drop-off, our schedule is primarily centered around being home, making us very flexible for drop-offs, pick-ups, and mid-day belly rubs! Your pup’s safety is our top priority! We have a fully fenced-in backyard where dogs can safely run, play, and explore under constant supervision. Our home is a family environment with three kids who are taught to be gentle and respectful with animals, so we do require that any guest dogs be kid-friendly. Inside, we have stairs, so please let us know if your pup has any mobility issues or needs assistance. We are also happy to crate your dog for meals or naps if that is what they are used to at home. Since we currently have no other pets, your dog will receive 100% of our attention and love during their stay
“Elizabeth was great communicating and letting us know the status of our dog Chico. We were very please with her care and services. Looking forward to booking her again!”

About: I’ve loved and cared for dogs my whole life, including my own shih tzu who was with me for 16 wonderful years. Working with the Michigan Humane Society’s Dog Day Getaway taught me how to handle pups of all sizes, personalities, and energy levels. I specialize in gentle senior care, patient puppy training, and making every pet feel safe, loved, and understood. I treat every pet like family and tailor my care to their unique needs and routines. Whether it’s slow walks for seniors or playful zoomies for puppies, I meet every dog where they’re happiest. I work from home, so I’m around all day and love having pets as part of my routine. My schedule is steady but flexible, which means I can easily adjust to each pet’s needs. I like starting the day with a walk or some playtime and taking plenty of breaks for cuddles, outdoor time, or just keeping a pup company. Caring for animals fits naturally into my life, it’s something I truly enjoy. When I’m caring for pets, my goal is always to make them feel safe, loved, and comfortable. I take time to learn each pet’s routine, personality, and preferences so I can keep things as familiar as possible. Whether that’s sticking to their usual feeding schedule, favorite walking route, or bedtime routine. I keep communication open with pet parents and send plenty of updates and photos for peace of mind.
“Alisa was great with sending photos and videos. Basil seemed happy and active while he was there. Her house is a "Happy Place" for pets with lots of dedicated space for them. We will return!”

“Bobbie was amazing with my Sammie, she treated her like a little princess and spoiled her rotten. Bobbie sent me regular updates with photos on how Sam was doing while there. Sammie almost didn't want to go home she had so much fun. What a great experience for my first time boarding my baby. I will definitely be booking with Bobbie again the next time I travel. I'd give her 10 stars if I could!”

“Ginsberg loves her time with Teresa’s. She enjoys spending time in the large backyard with her friends and relaxing in the house when it gets too hot outside. Teresa is our first choice sitter whenever we are out of town.”

“Beverly took wonderful care of my Frenchie. She was quick to make Cookie feel right at home. Sent a lot of pictures and videos. There is always some anxiety when having someone care for your pet, but I knew within an hour my Cookie was in the right place. “I am so grateful to have found Amanda. She is such a sweet person and her care of my dog was exceptional, administering meds and food at specific times. She sent photos and messages to keep me updated. I felt very confident that Carly was being cared for with the same love and concern I have for her. I will use her services again and highly recommend Amanda to anyone looking for the best dog sitter in the area.”

“We read great reviews about Nicolle and they were not wrong our mocha baby loved her and she made us feel at peace that Mocha was in good hands. Thank you to Nicole and her family”

About: Hi! I’m Nicole. I’m a retired professional petsitter/dog walker of 10+ years and have experience with a variety of breeds, sizes, and ages. I’m comfortable giving oral medications, insulin shots, and catering to special dietary needs. I’ve been working from home recently and would love to have some dog friends to keep me company. I own my home and have a HUGE fenced in yard that is great for fetch, and dog friends are welcome on the furniture. Dogs that love to go for walks are a plus because honestly, I feel weird going for walks without one lol. Dogs must be cat friendly! I’m a homebody by nature and rarely am away from home for more than a couple of hours, if I do go out I typically will separate my cats and my dog friends as an additional safety precaution. I don’t crate dogs unless it’s a typical part of their routine. I’m unable to accommodate dogs from multiple households.

“So kind and accommodating! Piper had a great time with Deb and Malcomb! Thank you for taking care of piper while we traveled to a family reunion out of state. Knowing that piper was in a home environment with dog lovers made us feel at ease. Deb was very good at sharing pictures and keeping us updated daily on our Miss Piper. A+ experience. Will highly recommend and will use in future. This was our very first Rover.com experience and it was good! Thank you!!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MI ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
