“We are so thankful to Erika and her family for looking after our Dexter so well! We got daily updates and pictures of all the fun he was having. Erika did an amazing job administering his medicine. It was such a relief to have Dexter in such good hands. Thank you so much!”

“Meredith was super kind, lovely and made my little Bichon Frisé felt totally at home. She updated me with videos and pictures constantly even describing how my little one was feeling each day. Definitely I’ll book Meredith again, she is the best!”

“Lasya was so accommodating on short notice. We were going to be away for a long day and realized we should have a pet sitter. Lasya was kind and accommodating. We really appreciate the care and photos that are sent. And our dogs getting along is a bonus! Thank you again so much!”

“Literally a God send!!! Azariah cared for our baby, like she was her own! I even extended her stay twice! She kept us updated on how our baby was doing. She sent pics & videos. She didn’t just “pet sit.” She LOVED our baby! Azariah was more than accommodating! I’m praying she’s available every time we need her in the future!”

“Vanessa was amazing! My reservation was super last-minute, and she was still able to accommodate me. Her communication was excellent throughout the entire stay — she sent daily updates and photos of my pup, which I really appreciated. My dog came home happy and calm, and it was clear he was well cared for. This was my first time using Rover, and Vanessa made the experience such a great one! I’ll definitely recommend her to my friends and family and will be booking with her again next time I need a sitter.”

“⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ ABOVE & BEYOND If you are looking for a place to board your baby, stop scrolling right now. Seriously. You’ve found the best of dog boarding! Brandon doesn't just "watch" dogs—he basically invites them to a 5-star bootcamp where they also learn how to be the "Goodest Boys and Girls" in existence. Why your dog will love him (and you will too): * The Training Magic: The passion for training is real! * The Vibe: Most boarders are "drop-off and pray." Here? It’s pure love. * Best in Town: No competition. None. Zero. If you want your pup to have a better vacation than you're having, this is the spot. I’d give it 12 stars if Rover let me. Absolute legend! 🐾”

“Pattie is absolutely amazing! She took wonderful care of Tuggy and kept us reassured with regular updates and pictures. Tuggy had a fantastic vacation at her house and loved making a new friend. He came home so happy—I highly recommend Pattie!”

“Cody was very responsive and Nico seemed very happy during his first stay there. Cody helped Nico acclimate to a new place and Nico had lots of fun playing with the other dogs.”

“Kerri Took amazing care of my dog, with daily updates and pictures- She is one of the best Rover sitters I’ve had, and I can’t wait to board my dog with her On my next trip (and judging by how happy my dog was, I bet she can’t wait either!)”

“Good communicator. Took care of russ with frequent walks and meals. Twice a day. A nice feature was sharing daily photo updates through the rover app. I could tell he was healthy and attentive. I would definitely work with Jess again.”

“Ashley was our life saver with watching our new puppy! We had a family trip planned long before knowing when we’d get our puppy and the timing was such that we needed help! She met with us prior, and learned after that she needed to give two medications (which she was not troubled by in the least!) Ashley sent us regular photos and videos and we could tell our new fur baby was in excellent hands! She also accommodated our very late arrival to pick up. She has set the bar high, as this was our first experience! Your pet will be well loved with Ashley.”

“Kira's been our rover since we moved to Detroit, and our dog's hung out with her and her dog many times at this point. Our dog clearly loves staying over, which is rare for her, and it speaks to Kira's ability to care for animals and be responsible and present. Will continue to trust her with my dog for as long as she's willing!”

“Provided great care to our Boston terrier who has separation anxiety. Replied very quick and was flexible with pick up/drop off times which was so helpful! Would book again for sure! :)”

“Mou and Yanling took great care of our senior dogs. I was very nervous to leave my older pups with someone new, but they sent many videos so I knew everyone was doing great.”

“Lisa accepted our booking very last minute and was so kind and accommodating with our drop off and pick up time. She replied quickly when we checked in to see how Belle was doing. Belle had a great time and we hope to book with Lisa again in the neat future for our upcoming travels! We were extremely pleased with the care she received.”

“Anthony was so sweet with my anxious baby girl! I got lots of pics and videos while she was with him which was very appreciated. Would definitely love to use him again!”

We want to make sure other people can find a place for their dog where they will be comfortable and the owners can enjoy their time away without worry. We are home starting Thursday evening and would be available to take care of your doggie so it will feel comfortable. We can take your dog on walks and because we have the weekend off we can spend as much time as needed to make your pet feel loved. We understand how important it is to avoid triggers, and what to do to help you dog when it's unavoidable. We also have experience with old dogs who need medicine and low impact play time as well as anxious dogs who aren't sure what's going on.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Detroit
10/10 he took Evie in on a few days prior, that right there is enough for me, he sent beautiful pictures of my Evie. Not only that but Ekow is able to take care of hyper active dogs, who need to do alot, and sometimes have trouble listening. That is what you call a sitter, will definitely book with him again!!

Yelitsa did such a wonderful job with our dog Mia! I received so many updates, at least 2 a day. She did well with administering my dog’s daily medication and keeping up with our regular feeding schedule in her home. Overall, my dog looked super happy every day and Yelitsa went above and beyond with exercise, treats and play time. We will definitely be booking with her again and I’d recommend her to anyone in need of pet sitting!

Allesha did a great job, as always, taking care of Mylo. Even though it had been a long time since they last saw each other, Mylo's excitement said it all! I was kept updated throughout his stay and received plenty of photos and videos, which I really appreciated. Allesha responded quickly to all my messages and made sure Mylo was comfortable and well cared for at all times. He came home happily exhausted, which showed just how much fun he had. I would definitely book with Allesha again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MI ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
