“Great sitters and my doggie and he looked to be having a marvelous time! Lots of communication from them, the entire time…which I loved. ❤️ I will absolutely book with them again.”

“Whitney and Samuel took excellent care of Kodi! He was so happy with them. They sent pictures and gave updates. I will definitely book with them again!”

“Jess was very accommodating on a last minute trip I had planned. She was very flexible with my schedule and availability to meet. I was extremely nervous as this was my first time utilizing Rover, as I usually book with PetSmart but I wanted to make sure my senior dog was well taken care of as boarding can be stressful for older dogs. Once we had the meet and greet, my dogs immediately loved Jess. She made sure that their routine stayed as close to the same as at home to ensure their comfort, and sent pictures and updates daily (which I loved). Even when we picked our dogs up, they still wanted to play and love on her so I knew they had a blast. If you’re wary about booking with Jess, this review is for you, she was absolutely awesome.”

“Renee took absolutely outstanding care of our golden retriever, Charlie, while we were on vacation. From the moment we met her, we felt completely at ease knowing he was in such capable and compassionate hands. She treated Charlie like her own—making sure he was well-exercised, well-fed, and showered with attention and affection. Renee kept us updated with messages and photos, which meant the world to us while we were away. It was clear from Charlie’s happy demeanor when we returned that he had been loved and cared for every single day. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and would wholeheartedly recommend Renee to anyone looking for truly exceptional pet care.”

“Rachael was truly an angel sent from heaven. She accepted my last minute request for a two week stay, and was so kind and compassionate. I appreciated how she did not blow up my phone while I was away, but still notified me of important things. I could tell that my dog had an absolute blast with her family. She is my #1 sitter from now on whenever I go out of town. Thank you a million, Rachael.❤️”

“Suzanne took such wonderful care of my dog, Jax. I would highly recommend her. This was my first time ever using Rover let alone leaving Jax with anyone but a family member. I couldn’t be happier with how well taken care of he was.”

“Meredith was the best pet sitter I could have asked for. She was so sweet with my dogs and kept me updated with lots of videos and photos. You can tell how much she loves animals and it felt like she treated my pups as her own. Will absolutely be using her in the future!!”

“SYDNEY IS THE BEST! This was the first time our dog, Primo, stayed with someone who wasn’t already familiar with him, so naturally, we were a little nervous about leaving him while we were away on vacation. From the very beginning, Sydney completely put our minds at ease. She took the time to address every concern we had, answered all of our questions, and reassured us that Primo would be safe, comfortable, and very well taken care of. Sydney was incredibly accommodating, attentive, and professional throughout Primo’s entire stay. What we appreciated most was her communication. Every morning and evening, she sent us pictures along with updates and notes about how Primo was doing. Being able to see him happy and comfortable allowed us to truly relax and enjoy our vacation without worrying about him. It was clear that Sydney treated Primo with genuine care and attention, and that means everything to us. We couldn’t have asked for a better first experience leaving him with someone new. Sydney has definitely earned our trust, and we will absolutely be using her services again in the future. If you’re looking for someone dependable, caring, communicative, and trustworthy to care for your pet, we highly recommend Sydney. Thank you, Sydney!”

“Queeny always takes such great care of Kaju! We went away on a two-week trip and I don’t think Kaju wanted to leave Queeny’s - even running back to her for one last goodbye! She sends photos and status updates on any new friends he has made during his stay. I know I can trust her to take great care of Kaju and I will always recommend her!! Your pup will be in great hands 😊”

Zenon loved her stay with Angela! She was so great and communicative, and I could tell Zenon was very comfortable right away from the meet and greet. She went above and beyond to make sure Zenon was feeling at home, even with other dogs staying at the house at the same time. Will definitely be back. 🙂

This was the second time my Belle stayed with Abbey. The first time was 19 days. And she exceeded my expectations. This second time I breathed easy, knowing Belle was in her care. She sent pictures and gave updates. Definitely will be booking in the future. Thankful that we found her. She and her family are amazing (this definitely includes Ford)!🥰

Daniel took excellent care of Koda. Our giant Newfoundland felt completely at home, enjoying new friends, great companionship, and plenty of attention. Koda got some exercise, and we especially appreciated the regular updates and photos that Daniel shared with us. It was wonderful to see Koda having such a great time and enjoying his stay. We could tell that Koda was well cared for and happy throughout his visit. We highly recommend Daniel and would not hesitate to leave Koda in his care again.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MI ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
