Omg (Z) was the best. This was my first time having to leave my son with a stranger. She treated him like her son, she walked him daily, sent pictures, she communicated properly, she let me know how he was reacting to the environment. Overall at 10 plus. I have found my new sitter. Thank you Z you’re great.

Jill took such good care of my dog on his visit to her home. We had contacted her a couple of days prior to her watching him and she was really responsive, accommodating and attentive to him while he was injured in a cone and administered his meds and provided extra care. We will definitely be coming back to Jill! Thanks so much!

I would trust leaving my dog here any time. He was loved and cared for by this amazing couple like he was their own. This was my first time trusting anyone with my dog and the experience exceeded my expectations in every way. Received daily pictures and updates, was able to enjoy vacation worry free. Highly recommended!

My first time using Rover, I was a little nervous to leave my precious pup with a random person but Rachel reassured me Stella would be in good hands! Throughout Stella's stay Rachel updated me with various pictures and videos! The pictures and videos were a nice little treat to be able to see Stella even though I was so far away! Overall, I will be using Rachel again if I ever have to leave again! ??

About: I've taken care of both cats and dogs for my entire life. From elderly beagles to pitbulls with no concept of their own size, I love them all! I'm experienced with special needs pets, having personally taken care of pets who are blind and deaf; who have FIV, FeLV and CKD; and who are missing teeth and tail. I am familiar with giving meds orally (both pill and syringe form), taking care of sick pets, and monitoring symptoms. You know what your pet needs, and I always make sure quality care is given in your absence! Please note I will likely use my own handless leash for safety purposes. I am comfortable working with reactive dogs and dogs with prey drives. However, it is crucial that you inform me of any behavior issues beforehand. Owners who are not upfront with behavior issues risk being dropped as clients. If booking times are flexible, please let me know. This helps me book you faster and allows us to start conversations about your pet's needs earlier. Please only book with me when you know what days and times I am needed. Open requests block times in my calendar, so booking in a timely manner is very important. If you would prefer to boom after the meet & greet, that is absolutely okay! Please just let me know upon scheduling the meet and greet. I am currently available mornings, and nights M-F and all day weekends. I typically visit 7-7:45am on weekday mornings and 4-7pm weekday nights. I make visits all day on weekends. I am happy to accommodate specific medication schedules upon request. Starting June 15th, I will be available 7am-9pm all seven days of the week. Starting June 15th, I will be opening slots for clients who wish for their dogs to join me on hikes or long walks (3+ hours) at dog-friendly hiking spots in Michigan. Owners will be charged the housesitting rate, and will be expected to prepare treats, meals, and water for their dogs. If you are interested in reserving a spot or speaking about specifics, please book an overnight stay so we can chat. I aim to respect your home and leave it cleaner than I found it! I'm happy to clean pet bowls, vacuum pet beds, etc. If possible, please provide the name of your home internet and password. This saves time when I am sending you cards, questions, or other updates! For housesitting clients, I aim to send two updates minimum during the morning and afternoon/early evening. If you would prefer to have more or less updates, please let me know!

About: I have been the trusted family and friend dog sitter for over 15 years, consistently being the first person people turn to whenever they go out of town. I grew up in a home surrounded by animals, so caring for pets has always felt natural to me and has become a true part of who I am. I recently lost my Shih Tzu due to old age, which also gave me meaningful experience caring for a senior dog and understanding the patience, attentiveness, and gentle care older pets require. I truly enjoy being around animals and providing them with comfort, companionship, and routine care. I especially miss having a little “fur companion” around and look forward to giving that same love and attention to every pet I care for. I work from home, which allows me to provide a highly flexible and reliable schedule for pet care throughout the day. I am able to accommodate morning, midday, evening, and even last-minute requests depending on availability. Because I am home-based, pets in my care receive consistent attention, regular check-ins, walks, and companionship rather than being left alone for long periods. I can easily adjust my routine to meet feeding schedules, medication times, and exercise needs, ensuring each pet’s normal routine is maintained as closely as possible while their owner is away. I care for pets by focusing on maintaining their normal routine, comfort, and safety while their owners are away. I treat every pet as if they are my own, making sure they receive plenty of attention, affection, exercise, and consistent care throughout the day. I pay close attention to feeding schedules, bathroom breaks, walks, and any special instructions such as medications or behavioral needs. I also provide regular updates and photos so pet owners can feel confident and connected while they are apart from their pets. The services I offer include dog walking, drop-in visits, boarding, and house sitting. During walks, I ensure pets get safe, enjoyable exercise suited to their energy level. For drop-ins, I provide feeding, potty breaks, playtime, and companionship. For boarding and house sitting, I create a calm, caring environment where pets feel secure and receive ongoing attention, routine care, and supervision. My goal is to make sure each pet feels comfortable, loved, and well cared for from start to finish.

Rahied took amazing care of our puppy, Coco! We had a last-minute non-pet friendly trip come up and he was able to accommodate our request of having her stay in his home within twelve hours of booking. We had contacted him the previous evening in case our possible sitter fell through. It was her first time being away from us and we were all very anxious. Rahied put our minds at ease as he is extremely kind and communicative. He responded very quickly to messages through the app. He was also very understanding when our puppy had an accident in his house. She's completely potty trained but I will only go potty in our backyard usually, almost never going when we are on walks. Rahied continue to take her out frequently in his yard and walks to try to get her to go. He showed genuine care and concern for her which was reassuring to us that we had made the right choice entrusting him with our puppy's care. Coco even came home with a new toy that she apparently grew attached to while at Rahied's house. She came home happy like she had a great time! We would definitely recommend Rahied!

About: Hello! My pet experience consists of having my own doggy for the past 20 years. I rescued my older dog and then got a new puppy. My old Rose passed away but I had to give her eye medication and oral medication everyday so I am comfortable with that. I also grew up with family dogs and cared for those dogs. My availability to watch your dog is very flexible. I work from home a most days a week so it is a high chance that I could work from home while caring for your pup. I am a very caring person. I have a PhD in human development and family science and work in the social work field. I have a giant heart and would love to care for your doggie! As a stay-at-home worker, pet care naturally fits into my daily routine. I’m home throughout the day, which allows me to provide consistent attention, timely feedings, regular potty breaks, and plenty of play and cuddle time. My flexible schedule means I can easily accommodate pets’ needs, whether that’s sticking to a specific routine or being available for spontaneous walks and care. Being home also helps me monitor behavior closely and respond quickly to any changes, making pets feel secure, loved, and well looked after. Whether caring for pets in my home or a client’s, I prioritize creating a safe, comfortable, and engaging environment tailored to each animal’s needs. In my home, pets have access to cozy rest areas, regular outdoor time, and plenty of affection and play throughout the day. I maintain a calm, clean space and follow any routines or special instructions provided. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I respect their space and stick closely to the pet’s established schedule to minimize stress. I provide regular updates, ensure fresh food and water, maintain cleanliness, and give each pet the love and attention they’re used to.

10/10 stars!! I would absolutely try boarding/cat sitting with Hali in the future. I was considerably nervous as it was the first time my cat would ever spend a night away from me. Hali made sure to keep me updated with plenty of pictures and videos of Wednesday during her stay! My cat is an anxious girl, so I appreciated the effort and patience Hali had with her. Hali was also very considerate about the fact that my cat gets anxious around dogs, and thankfully was able to provide Wednesday with a space of her own! Overall, I’m very happy with the quality of care Wednesday received and would definitely recommend booking with Hali.

Kira's been our rover since we moved to Detroit, and our dog's hung out with her and her dog many times at this point. Our dog clearly loves staying over, which is rare for her, and it speaks to Kira's ability to care for animals and be responsible and present. Will continue to trust her with my dog for as long as she's willing!

Lauren is a fantastic pet sitter. It's clear she loves dogs, and that's exactly why I keep coming back to her. I would recommend her to any dog parent in the area!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in MI ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.

If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
