“I was nervous because this was the first time I'd left Picasso with someone he didn't know. Ekow was extremely kind and sent updates of a happy dog daily, which made me feel much better. We've found a new sitter and I will definitely be reaching out anytime we need a sitter. Five stars!!”

“Sofia, thank you so much! Sofia was fantastic. Communication was perfect, and much appreciated. We had a good meet and greet to start, which led into a very comfortable and fun stay for Ara. The pictures said it all, I coudl see my dog smiling in every photo as she was so happy. When a pet owner is away for 8 days for work, it precisely this that makes it a tad easier. I would highly recommend Sofia, and hope to have Ara stay with Sofia again in the future.”

“Kayla took great care of my baby Chico. She was very nice and sent messages and updates the whole time during his stay with her. I would definitely recommend her. My dog don’t even walk with me because he’s lazy and he was walking with her. She’s the dog whisperer. Love her”

“Emily, Jason & Larry were excellent hosts!! Upon my request for a sitter, they suggested a meet & greet between our dogs. They were welcoming and caring about insuring the dogs were compatible. We agreed on letting Nanook stay. They were very communicative about what our dog was up to, how he was getting along with Larry and they sent photos too. After the stay we were surprised to have received a thank you note and a personalized treat in our bag. That was such a sweet touch! We would definitely book with Emily & Jason again! Nanook enjoyed his stay with them and Larry!”

“Dawn took fantastic care of my baby! She came home beautifully tired out from playing with Dawn's own fur babies. Dawn provided informative daily updates that kept my mind completely at ease. I highly recommend her!”

“Katherine was a fantastic accommodating host for our precious Bruno! We were running late to drop him off and then had a family emergency that delayed us picking him up a few hours later than planned. She sent us photos throughout his stay and asked us about taking him out. I appreciated her consideration. We will absolutely be using her again in the future if she will have us!”

“If you have a small dog, Beverly is unreal. My frenchie loves going to her home. She is given so much love, care and attention the entire time she is there. She has her own bed and rest area during the day with lots of toys. She never goes in a crate or cage, and plays all day long. At night Beverly lets my cookie sleep in the bed. If you are reading this go no further, Beverly provides unbelievable care. I would never consider an overnight kennel and once you try Beverly to babysit you wont either. Thank you Beverly for caring for my baby.”

“Anna did a great job was little Maizie, she is only 7lbs, but Anna’s Ruby was so sweet to her 🥰 Anna was really attentive to Maizie’s eating habits - she is a picky eater and was able to eat her full meal by day two, would love to rebook with Anna again.”

“Jessica was amazing with our pups! We've never used Rover before but decided to for a 9 day trip. We are worriers with our babies so we were nervous, but I am so happy we did because they had tons of play time/attention, and it was SO much more affordable than a boarding facility. We received daily pictures, updates, and some videos along the way. We will definitely be working with Jessica again!”

“Monica was a Godsend! She was very flexible with pickup and drop off dates & very accommodating to our changing flight status when we were out of town. She sent lots of pictures & kept us updated throughout our pups stay. She is very kind & patient with our senior dog Lola who had an accident as soon as she got into her home. 10/10, I would recommend her to anyone!”

“Laura was amazing! I was in town for a wedding and she was able to watch my pup so I could be more actively involved in the festivities. She sent so many photos and updates. I never once questioned whether my pup was safe or having fun. He received so much love and attention, and I will be sure to rebook with her the next time we are in town! Wholeheartedly recommend.”
“I’m thankful to have found Nia and her husband as dog sitters for Monte. I was very satisfied with the through communication I had with Nia, as well as the picture, video and text updates regarding Monte. He came come smelling pretty good and was tired, which are 2 additional major pluses.”

“Kara was able to accommodate my dog Dobby on really short notice. My dog has really bad separation anxiety and Kara let him sleep in bed with her *cue tears*. Kara was super quick to respond with updates and sent pics. Both Kara and her dog Nellie were welcoming and made him feel so comfortable. Nellie and Dobby played and had so much fun I think he was a little sad when we got home. :P 10/10 would book with Kara and Nellie again!”

“Great communication and wobderful with my dog, Stella. It's clear when I pick her up based on her relaxed temperament for at least the following day that she got to play and run off some energy. Highly recommend!”

“Cara was amazing! So responsible, reliable and clearly loving towards our goldendoodle. Received lots of pics and updates and our girl came home happy. We can’t wait til her next visit!”

“Jess was very accommodating on a last minute trip I had planned. She was very flexible with my schedule and availability to meet. I was extremely nervous as this was my first time utilizing Rover, as I usually book with PetSmart but I wanted to make sure my senior dog was well taken care of as boarding can be stressful for older dogs. Once we had the meet and greet, my dogs immediately loved Jess. She made sure that their routine stayed as close to the same as at home to ensure their comfort, and sent pictures and updates daily (which I loved). Even when we picked our dogs up, they still wanted to play and love on her so I knew they had a blast. If you’re wary about booking with Jess, this review is for you, she was absolutely awesome.”

“We are really lucky to have found Angelina and her husband. They are excellent caregivers. The dogs are walled multiple times a day and they send pictures and communicate throughout the day. It’s always nice to see my dogs happy and loved while I’m away. Thank you!”

“I had a great experience with Amy as my dog sitter! She took such good care of Snickers and made sure he was happy and comfortable while I was away. I really appreciated how flexible she was with the pick-up and drop-off timings—it made things so much easier for me. Snickers seemed completely at ease with her, and I could tell he was in good hands. I would definitely recommend Amy to anyone looking for a reliable and caring sitter!”

This was the second time my Belle stayed with Abbey. The first time was 19 days. And she exceeded my expectations. This second time I breathed easy, knowing Belle was in her care. She sent pictures and gave updates. Definitely will be booking in the future. Thankful that we found her. She and her family are amazing (this definitely includes Ford)!🥰

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MI ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
