Hi, I’m Monica DeSpain— a lifelong animal lover, experienced pet sitter, and proud pet mom to one sweet senior dog and three quirky cats. I’ve been caring for animals for over 20 years, and I truly love what I do. My background includes 5 years working at two veterinary hospitals as a veterinary assistant, volunteering at the animal shelter, and fostering pets in my home. These experiences gave me a strong foundation in animal care long before I officially started offering pet sitting. Since August 2024, I’ve been providing trusted, compassionate pet sitting services to families in the Grosse Pointe area. I also currently run a small online business from home, which gives me the flexibility to offer weekday and weekend visits, dog walking, and personalized drop-in care. I understand how important it is to find someone you trust with your pets — not just for feeding and potty breaks, but for love, attention, and consistency. Every animal has their own personality, routine, and comfort level — and I meet them where they’re at. Great communication and reliable
Monica was great with my kitties! I will definitely rebook with her for future visits. It was great to feel that my furbabies were well looked after while I was gone. Great, consistent communication - photos, videos, updates, etc. Highly recommend!
Monica is fantastic! She sent really great detailed updates with lots of photos. It was Rio's first time with a sitter and you could tell she just had so much fun with Monica. Monica made sure that all 3 of our cats got plenty of attention equally and found different ways of entertaining them with various toys and treat feeders. She followed all instructions and even brought in our packages. Thanks so much!
Monica was outstanding, I don't think my cats wanted us to come home! Monica took care of their basic needs and went well beyond and made sure they got lots of pets, they played with toy mice and they were brushed. They daily photos were such a nice way for us to check in on them. Even my shy cat bonded with her. I would use Monica again and again. Can't say enough nice things about her.
Monica did an incredible job looking after our two cats! She went above and beyond by shoveling our walkway after a snow storm. Would 100% ask her to pet sit again!
