Hi, I’m Monica DeSpain— a lifelong animal lover, experienced pet sitter, and proud pet mom to one sweet senior dog and three quirky cats. I’ve been caring for animals for over 20 years, and I truly love what I do. My background includes 5 years working at two veterinary hospitals as a veterinary assistant, volunteering at the animal shelter, and fostering pets in my home. These experiences gave me a strong foundation in animal care long before I officially started offering pet sitting. Since August 2024, I’ve been providing trusted, compassionate pet sitting services to families in the Grosse Pointe area. ​ I also currently run a small online business from home, which gives me the flexibility to offer weekday and weekend visits, dog walking, and personalized drop-in care. About: I’m an ER nurse and paramedic looking to spend time playing, walking and caring for pets. Or house sitting. I typically am free 3-4 days a week as I work 3-12 hour shifts a week at the hospital. Naturally, I’m very compassionate and care very deeply about living beings. I also have had cats and dogs of my own. I’m 58, dependable, have my own car and am active. I work 3 days a week in the ER. Which leave 4 days a week to pet sit and walk dogs! I have a Honda Fit that I am not fussy about, a dog is welcome to take a ride to Belle Isle or to the dog park! Ideally I would sit in your home, but I’m sure if your dog or cat is friendly my family would love to have them overnight!

About: I have two of the friendliest dogs who enjoy having friends over & spending the night. Comfortable caring for special needs animals & will go above and beyond to make sure your pet is cared for well while your gone. Lots of play and interaction as I work from home. I work from home - the dogs really dictate my days most of the time :) Dogs have full access to the home including beds & furniture. We incorporate lots of play! I have a fenced in yard and live bear multiple parks. We take daily walks & ensure the pets get a ton of outside play.

I've been surrounded by animals of all shapes and sizes including cats, golden retrievers, malamutes - I've found my love for them to grow increasingly with each interaction. About: I've had 2 dogs for their entire life. Raised and house broken a lot of puppies along the way. I used to foster for It takes a village. I love dogs. I have treat trained a lot of dogs over the years. Kennel training is also something I've done. I work from home so I can spend a lot of time with your pet. I have lots of time to dedicate to your pet. I have a fenced in yard and lots of sidewalks and parks to visit locally. All pets need the same thing love, space to run, and food. I can provide that anywhere.

About: I’m a lifelong dog owner who has also helped neighbors and friends with their pets. I have experience with dogs of all sizes and ages and can walk long distances if needed. I’m a stay-at-home mom with a completely flexible schedule during the week. My 3-year-old loves dogs and is very caring and gentle. I also have some availability on my own during mornings when she’s at preschool. I’m available to care for dogs in your home and take them for walks if needed. I can walk short or long distances depending on your dog’s needs and preferences.

About: I have grown up always having a houseful of animals. This included cats and dogs as well as small rodents (mice, hamster,ect) and livestock. Now I have two dogs, two cats, and a hedgehog. I have owned my dogs for 13 years and the cats became part of the family a couple of years ago. My experience with animals ranges from daily care needs to caring for an animal with other needs. I am also patient with animals that are still learning or have slight behavioral issues. Currently, I am a full time student completing my degree online. I have open avalibility for your pet care needs. I am even open to a "daycare" situation. I have two dogs and two cats at my own home. The cats have their own space if needed and my dogs would love to have a friend to play with. I also have plenty of room to give any animal alone space if needed. I have a fenced yard and live walking distance to a park. I am open to board your furbabies while you are at work during the day or overnight if needed. If you prefer your babies stay at home I can offer potty breaks and walks during the day. I understand the struggle of finding good care for furbabies when you have a demanding schedule! I am open to services that work for you!

About: I took care of my family’s golden retrievers during my childhood. Friends and family have relied on me to walk, feed, and watch numerous dogs, including bulldogs, pit bulls, labs, and Shih Tzus. I adopted Luna 2 years ago, and she’s the happy girl in my profile picture. I’m a medical student going on residency interviews during the fall and winter. I don’t have any classes or rotations during this time, and I need to make money. Thus, my schedule is fairly openly depending on what’s needed. I will treat your dog as if they were my own. I truly love dogs, and enjoy walking them. I will always be available to do a meet and greet as well.
