“Kat is our new FAV! She is such a kind person and huge animal lover. She took care of our pup for us last minute, and sent lots of pictures and messages. She also arrived early and stayed a few minutes late to let our dog cool down and relax after their walk. She made sure to ask us all the questions and took detailed notes during the meet & greet. I couldn’t recommend her enough, so amazing!!”

“Mat was a lifesaver for us when we were heading out of town and needed a dogwalker, he was new to our family but made us feel confident that our little dog was in great hands. We will definitely reach out to Mat for his help in the future!”
“Ashley was prompt, professional! She is a very experienced pet caretaker, so I felt confident hiring her. Draper loved seeing her and thoroughly enjoyed his afternoon walk with her. When Ashley dropped Draper off, Draper did not want her to leave, it was just so cute to see. As a dog mom, she made me feel 100% comfortable leaving him in her care. This was the first time I have ever hired a walker for him, but have not been able to walk him due to a slight knee problem. I couldn't be happier that I found her. I am booking her again soon for another afternoon walk. I highly recommend Ashley!!”

I understand how important consistency and communication are, and I’ll always keep you updated while your pet is in my care. I provide a safe, calm and loving environment where dogs are treated like family. I prioritize trust, communication, clean spaces and attentive care so pets feel secure, comfortable and happy while you’re away.
“Lonie came to walk my dog Jasper and did such a great job! She spent extra time playing with him in the backyard to help him get his zoomies out, which he absolutely loved. It’s clear she really cares about dogs and enjoys spending time with them. Jasper was happy and calm afterward — thank you, Lonie! Sincerely, Rebecca Freeman”

“Robyn was equally wonderful with my high energy pup as she was with my very shy pup. She was very communicative which I appreciated. Will certainly use her again in the future!”

“Renee is fantastic! She communicates clearly and always keeps us up to date throughout the week. Gibson has a great time when she stops by, and we love keeping up with the stories and pictures from Renee’s visits/walks!”

“Kristin was very thorough and thoughtful when meeting our pups. She did a great job walking our dogs and following up with how they did. We would definitely consider booking with her again.”

About: Hello! I’m an experienced pet sitter with several years working in a kennel environment and as a groomer. I also enjoy fostering/training dogs for local shelters! I have experience with behaviorally complex dogs as well as working and giant breeds. In addition to professional experience caring for dogs, I also have three personal dogs that I train, show, and trial with in sports! I work from home, so I have plenty of time to give your pets the attention they deserve! I’m generally not out of the house for more than an hour or two each day. I want your dogs to feel at home here! My three bedroom home has a fully fenced yard and is set up to be safe and comfortable for pets. Dogs who prefer to be the only pet are welcome to solo access to the back yard and one on one time in the house with me! Safety is always my first priority, so all dogs are crated for meal times and when unsupervised/over night. Please note that we have one adult cat in the house! While she is very dog savvy, I’m happy to ensure she is in a separate space if needed.
About: I've taken care of dogs of all kinds and sizes since I was a kid. I work at a dog daycare and boarding center where I take care of all kinds of dogs with various needs and administer medication if needed as well. Im working part-time and my schedule is flexible so I can be available for pet care at any time most days of the week when needed. I can show up to your home and take your dog on walks or let them outside either on leash or in your yard if it's fenced in. I can feed dogs and cats and play with them to get out some of their energy. If your pet needs medication or vitamins I can administer those as well from my experience doing so at my job.
About: Hi, my name is Carla. I am a 29-year-old Occupational Therapy grad student, marketing professional, and animal lover! I’m located in Royal Oak centrally close to a lot of neighborhoods. I am looking to pick up work to get some time outside more and make some extra money for school. I have always had a pet in the house! Growing up I had a cat and a dog that I was responsible for. I’ve lived with dogs recently, and I currently have my own cat. Unfortunately, I am not able to offer boarding or care at my current apartment, but I am happy to do overnight stays if needed in the client’s home. I have a pretty flexible schedule because I work full-time online so if I needed to work from a clients house or take my lunch break to do a dog walk all of these options are very easy for me to navigate. I would like to do a few dog walks or pet check ins a week, including weekdays or weekends and potentially an overnight once or twice a month . I will not be having pets at my home, but I am very mindful of pet safety whether that be on a walk or at a client’s house. I will ensure to know the temperament of the animal before I arrive. If the animal is afraid of me, I will contact the owner and reevaluate the situation so as to not add additional stress on the animal. As a general rule of thumb when walking a dog if another dog is approaching us, I will cross the street and I always make sure that if I am taking the dog out outside, they are on a leash or in a fenced in area.

“Gary is the best!! He's so amazing with my pups! They love him and really enjoy their walks with him. And, he really helped me out when I found myself in need of a walker on short notice. Can't say enough how thankful I am for him & Rover.com!!”

“What a great week of walks. Kevin is beyond a dog walker. He goes above and beyond just walking. He loves the dogs as if they are his own and actually takes time to get to know my dogs. Kevin is very communicative at all times. He has been on time to all the scheduled walks. My girls already love Kevin and get so excited when they know he is coming.”

About: I have cared for animals my whole life. From the time I was a child taking care of my own dog until now. I have experience taking care of small animals like Rodents to even larger animals like horses. I am not afraid of any challenge your pet may have in store for me. Working in an animal shelter has also given me some medical experience so if medications need to be offered that is not a problem. I recently arrived back to the US from study abroad in Europe and I’m looking to fill my time giving care to your pets while I settle back into life in the states! I treat pets with the same love and respect I show to people. There is no request that is too much because these are our babies and they deserve the very best.
“Danielle was great! Friendly and sweet to my pup. She also helped me out when I’m in a bind recovering from a surgery. Really appreciate the whole experience.”

Jessica has been so helpful! She is extremely dependable and takes great care of my dog Daisy! It’s nice to know that Daisy is in good hands and happy while I’m at work. Jessica always leaves detailed updates on Daisy and photos of their walks. Thank you, Jessica!

Jenna has been absolutely amazing with my dog. She is always punctual, reliable, and incredibly kind. From the very first meeting, it was obvious how much she genuinely loves animals and my dog picked up on that instantly. Mia completely fell in love with her right away, which says everything. It gives me real peace of mind knowing my dog is with someone so caring, attentive, and trustworthy. Jenna goes above and beyond, and I couldn’t recommend her more highly to anyone looking for a dependable and compassionate dog walker.

Isabela was fantastic! She was incredibly communicative throughout the entire stay, which I really appreciated. She stepped up right when I needed a sitter and made the whole process seamless. I will definitely be booking with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable sitter!

We love Grace, but Greyson ADORES her. There is no hiding how he feels by the dances and talks as soon as she walks through the door 😉. She always responds very quickly, is super professional, is wonderful with pets, and I couldn't recommend her more. If you get the opportunity to book with her, I highly recommend that you do!

Megan has been absolutely incredible! My sweet doggo and cat both adore her so much! After moving to a new city I was so nervous to leave my two pets but Megan made the transition so incredibly easy! She’s so responsive and kind and always sends the best pictures while they’re being cared for!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
