“Kristin was very thorough and thoughtful when meeting our pups. She did a great job walking our dogs and following up with how they did. We would definitely consider booking with her again.”

“Lonie came to walk my dog Jasper and did such a great job! She spent extra time playing with him in the backyard to help him get his zoomies out, which he absolutely loved. It’s clear she really cares about dogs and enjoys spending time with them. Jasper was happy and calm afterward — thank you, Lonie! Sincerely, Rebecca Freeman”

“Hi highly recommend Greg! I was fortunate enough to not only book him last minute so my pup could get in a walk, but also able to do so on New Years Eve. My pup was obviously quite fond of him because he didn't want to stop playing with Greg once he brought him back home from the walk, and he continued to bring over one toy after the next to show him. I look forward to booking him again in the near future.”

“Kat is our new FAV! She is such a kind person and huge animal lover. She took care of our pup for us last minute, and sent lots of pictures and messages. She also arrived early and stayed a few minutes late to let our dog cool down and relax after their walk. She made sure to ask us all the questions and took detailed notes during the meet & greet. I couldn’t recommend her enough, so amazing!!”

“Amanda is great, and my little girl Ella loves the time they spend together. She sends lots of pictures and updates of the fun they’re having. Couldn’t recommend Amanda enough!”

“Mat was a lifesaver for us when we were heading out of town and needed a dogwalker, he was new to our family but made us feel confident that our little dog was in great hands. We will definitely reach out to Mat for his help in the future!”

About: I’ve grown up with dogs all my life. I’ve been a dog/cat/house sitter before on and off especially during covid. I love long walks, play time and cuddles. I would be availbe for morning and late walks during my working days . On my days off I will have way more availability even mid day availablity for walks. House sitting nights can vary a little depending on my schedule but am pretty flexible. My house is not available for sitting. When comming in and leaving the house I will lock all doors for mine and pets safety. I will follow any other instructions of home owner .
About: Hi! I'm David. I grew up in Michigan surrounded by dogs and farm animals. Labrador Retrievers were the family favorite, however, I rescued a Basset Hound Mix during the pandemic. One of my college jobs was working at a doggy daycare center. I was quickly promoted to manager and ended up rolling out a marketing plan for the business. It was a blast! I live in Metro Detroit (Oak Park) and am currently "funemployed" which means I have all the time in the world to take care of your furry companions! I take pride in my ability to be patient, gentle, responsible, and fun with all kinds of dogs, sizes, and ages. I have vast and diverse experience taking care of animals including dogs, cats, chickens, turkeys, horses, and birds. During college, I volunteered at various humane societies and frequently dog sat for friends and relatives. I was also instrumental in co-training a Golden Retriever to be a service dog. That was a highly rewarding experience. My approach to dog care is to start with the owner and get to know the dog through their eyes. I then channel that love and devotion to esteemed care, ensuring that walks are done frequently, food is out at a responsible time, and that enough attention is spent with the dog. I'm an outdoors guy and walk whenever I get the chance, so rest assured that your dog will get a healthy amount of outside time. If you've made it this far and like what you've read, let's schedule a meet-and-greet! I take my pup for walks at least four times a day, and let her roam free in my fenced in backyard. I provide attention and care throughout the day! I'm very respectful not only of my client's pets, but also their homes. I'm very trustworthy and neat/tidy. I've dog sat in many homes both for the day and overnight. I treat other people's property as if it were my own.
About: Hi, my name is Carla. I am a 29-year-old Occupational Therapy grad student, marketing professional, and animal lover! I’m located in Royal Oak centrally close to a lot of neighborhoods. I am looking to pick up work to get some time outside more and make some extra money for school. I have always had a pet in the house! Growing up I had a cat and a dog that I was responsible for. I’ve lived with dogs recently, and I currently have my own cat. Unfortunately, I am not able to offer boarding or care at my current apartment, but I am happy to do overnight stays if needed in the client’s home. I have a pretty flexible schedule because I work full-time online so if I needed to work from a clients house or take my lunch break to do a dog walk all of these options are very easy for me to navigate. I would like to do a few dog walks or pet check ins a week, including weekdays or weekends and potentially an overnight once or twice a month . I will not be having pets at my home, but I am very mindful of pet safety whether that be on a walk or at a client’s house. I will ensure to know the temperament of the animal before I arrive. If the animal is afraid of me, I will contact the owner and reevaluate the situation so as to not add additional stress on the animal. As a general rule of thumb when walking a dog if another dog is approaching us, I will cross the street and I always make sure that if I am taking the dog out outside, they are on a leash or in a fenced in area.

“Kara has walked my dogs several times and I highly recommend her. She’s always on time, texts me ahead of time as a reminder and walks them for the full expected time. My dogs absolutely love her and are very excited when she comes over.”

About: Hi! I'm Jenna. I'm reliable, attentive, and I genuinely treat every dog like my own. I've spent a lot of time around dogs with different personalities, from high-energy ones that need a lot of movement to more sensitive or anxious dogs that need a calmer approach. I pay attention to body language and try to make sure they feel comfortable and safe, especially in new situations. I'm pretty active and love being outside, so your dog will get plenty of exercise and attention. I'm also consistent and detail-oriented, so l'll follow your routine and instructions closely. I'll always send updates with photos so you know how things are going. Whether your dog needs a good walk, some playtime, or just someone calm and reliable, l've got it covered. I work part-time so I am flexible with my availability. I control my own schedule and usually can accommodate last minute pet needs. I can also do regular, repeat schedules. I focus on keeping dogs calm, safe, and comfortable by paying close attention to their behavior and energy. I follow your routine as closely as possible, including feeding, walks, and any specific instructions you have. I’m confident handling strong or high-energy dogs and make sure walks are controlled and structured. I’m also respectful of your home and will always keep things clean and secure. You’ll get updates and photos so you always know how your dog is doing.
About: I’ve grown up with yellow labs my whole life, so caring for dogs has always come naturally to me! My current lab is 6 years old, and my previous lab lived to 16, so I have experience with both energetic puppies and sweet senior dogs. I know every dog has their own personality and pace, and I’m very patient, attentive, and loving with all ages. Whether your dog loves long walks, playing fetch, belly rubs, or just relaxing with company, I’m happy to match their vibe. I genuinely love being around animals and making them feel comfortable, safe, and cared for while you’re away. Expect lots of playtime, attention, and photo updates :) I’m currently a student and on summer break, so I have a very flexible schedule and lots of availability! I’m available for drop-ins, walks, daytime care, and overnights. Pet care fits easily into my routine, especially during the summer when I love spending time outside enjoying the Michigan sun and nice weather. I always want pets to feel safe, comfortable, and loved while in my care. In a client’s home, I do my best to keep their normal routine the same, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, and any special instructions. I’m very attentive, patient, and respectful of both pets and homes, and I make sure pets get plenty of attention, exercise, and affection. I also understand how important trust is when leaving your pet with someone else, so I’m happy to provide updates and photos!
“Samantha was very kind and caring to my sweet old boy Loukas. She was also very accommodating with my schedule and logistics as we were only in town visiting. I would gladly trust Samantha with Loukas’ care again”
“Ashley was prompt, professional! She is a very experienced pet caretaker, so I felt confident hiring her. Draper loved seeing her and thoroughly enjoyed his afternoon walk with her. When Ashley dropped Draper off, Draper did not want her to leave, it was just so cute to see. As a dog mom, she made me feel 100% comfortable leaving him in her care. This was the first time I have ever hired a walker for him, but have not been able to walk him due to a slight knee problem. I couldn't be happier that I found her. I am booking her again soon for another afternoon walk. I highly recommend Ashley!!”

About: Hi, I’m Rebecca and I would love to watch your dog. I have a fenced in yard that’s perfect for little dogs! We had a small dog for over 18 years. I understand how your dog is truly another member of your family and would care for him like a member of my own. Being a RETIRED teacher, my availability is ideal - I’m almost always home...especially for summer vacations! We are up early and I am home most of the day. On the weekends you’ll also usually find me spending time with my family and sometimes at the ballpark . But your pet will have company often. My home is located in Huntington Woods which is a wonderful city to walk your dog around. I look forward to meeting your pup and offering excellent care while you are away for work or play. I am up early for quick walks and potty breaks. My husband leaves much later or sometimes works from home, so another morning potty break is a definite. I’m usually home because I’m now retired! We are a home body family by nature, so we give plenty of attention to our guest dogs. We had a very small dog ourselves (Harley passed 3/13/23), so our yard is very carefully fenced to make sure there are no escape routes😂 Our children are older as well, so toys and snacks are not all over the floor anymore. We keep a tidy, yet pet friendly home and pets are always welcome on our couches or chairs!
“Jenna has been great with Reese! She has been spending the full time with her either outside or inside if Reese hasn’t felt like being outside the whole time. I will book again!”

Jessica has been so helpful! She is extremely dependable and takes great care of my dog Daisy! It’s nice to know that Daisy is in good hands and happy while I’m at work. Jessica always leaves detailed updates on Daisy and photos of their walks. Thank you, Jessica!

Jenna has been absolutely amazing with my dog. She is always punctual, reliable, and incredibly kind. From the very first meeting, it was obvious how much she genuinely loves animals and my dog picked up on that instantly. Mia completely fell in love with her right away, which says everything. It gives me real peace of mind knowing my dog is with someone so caring, attentive, and trustworthy. Jenna goes above and beyond, and I couldn’t recommend her more highly to anyone looking for a dependable and compassionate dog walker.

Isabela was fantastic! She was incredibly communicative throughout the entire stay, which I really appreciated. She stepped up right when I needed a sitter and made the whole process seamless. I will definitely be booking with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable sitter!

We love Grace, but Greyson ADORES her. There is no hiding how he feels by the dances and talks as soon as she walks through the door 😉. She always responds very quickly, is super professional, is wonderful with pets, and I couldn't recommend her more. If you get the opportunity to book with her, I highly recommend that you do!

Hi highly recommend Greg! I look forward to booking him again in the near future.

Emily is AMAZING!!! We requested a last minute Halloween walk so Greyson could get out any extra "zoomies" before all of the trick-or-treaters arrived. Not only did Emily responded within seconds but Greyson took to her the very moment she entered the door and could not wait to go on his adventure with her. They had a great walk and we can not wait to book her again soon. 10/10 👍👍

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
