“Carissa was a fabulous pet sitter, and is definitely Crooks and Curry’s new BFF. She gave thorough, informative updates including details that allowed us to know our kitt-os were sticking to their normal routines and habits. She also is a great photographer and threw in a video once in a while. We were nervous about using Rover initially but after our meet and greet with Carissa, we felt very comfortable. We were able to enjoy our vacation knowing Crooks and Curry were receiving incredible care. Now having been through our full booking - we definitely hope to have Carissa watch the kitt-os in the future.”

“Kelly was able to help us out last minute, so we could go out of town with our family. She even helped with bandage changes when our dog would rip them off. She provided updates and pictures for us every time she came to visit. I would highly recommend Kelly to anyone!”

“Kara did a great job with a drop in visit for my anxious German Shepherd! She made the process so easy and took great care of my pup. Looking forward to booking her again for future drop in visits!”

“She has been so patient and understanding with my anxious dog. She even took the time to do an extra meet-and-greet to help him feel comfortable. I really appreciate her kindness, professionalism, and genuine care. Highly recommend!”

“We had such a great experience with Hannah. She took care of our cats for nearly two weeks and we felt completely at ease the entire time. We received regular updates and lots of photos. Wouldn’t hesitate to book with Hannah again!”

“Shelbi is absolutely amazing and so communicative about even the small details. I know my pups are in good hands when she comes by to drop in or walk them! I definitely recommend using her and she is my go to each and every time!! Thank you Shelbi for being you and taking such great care of Frank and Beans ;)”

“My family had a great experience with Danielle watching our cat Lenny. She sent daily updates and photos, and Lenny loved her! Highly recommend her caring and professional service.”

About: I have 1 cat at home and my partner has 1 dog who basically acts like a cat, so I am looking for an excuse to be around dogs (preferably <25 lbs) who may need some company. Friends and family have entrusted me with their pets for years (both for walks and overnight stays) and I take that responsibility incredibly seriously. I have a full-time hybrid position that has me at home on Mondays and Fridays with some flexibility from Tuesday - Thursday. On days when I am in the office, I will be home before 4:30pm for any afternoon feeding times. I am also available on weekends with advanced notice. I have a large unfenced yard and live less than a block away from a dedicated dog park. I have one small dog (15 lbs) and one cat who are happy to keep your pet company or can be kept in a different part of the house depending on your needs.
“Lavina is our go to gal for drop in visits and boarding. She’s always so reliable, great with communication, and treats our pup as one as her own. She’s the best!”

“Jessica has been great with our dogs. We had a few special instructions and she took care of everything we needed. Our dogs get let out twice a week by her, and sometimes she stays longer than we asked. She’s very good at updating our Rover account with all of the details and photos from each visit!”

“Ally has been great with Goose, very attentive and prompt communication to any needs or concerns and accommodating with meet and greet. Appreciate the drop ins and midday exercise he has really enjoyed it!”

“Audrey is my go-to every time I need someone to watch my cat. She sends the cutest pictures and updates. She is also great about communication around when she’ll be dropping in, if there are any changes to her schedule, etc. Thanks again Audrey!!”
“Ashley offered to meet our pup ahead of time which was very appreciated. She was super at handling a nervous dog and was quick to update us during her visit. Couldn’t be more appreciative of her help and experience with pets!”

“We couldn’t have asked for a better dog sitter than David! From the moment he met our dogs, they bonded with him instantly and were genuinely excited to see him each day while we were away. David’s communication was outstanding—he kept us consistently updated with messages and photos, which gave us great peace of mind. It was clear he genuinely cared for our dogs and made sure they felt loved and comfortable in our absence. He also treated our home with great respect and care, as if it were his own. We highly recommend David to anyone looking for a reliable, kind, and professional sitter. We will definitely be reaching out to him again in the future!”

“This was our first experience with Rover. Kristin did a great job dropping in to visit, feed and let out our new puppy. I loved the photos she sent! We will definitely book her again.”

About: PLEASE READ FULL BIO:) Hi! I'm so happy to introduce myself:). My name is Matt and I've been a dog dad for about 10 years now and have been around dogs my entire life:). I've been walking dogs and dog sitting for 3+ years! I've had my current dog, Toby, for five years and have tons of experience with all types of dogs! Large, small, old, young, relaxed, stubborn, aggressive, high energy, and so much more! I absolutely love being a dog walker/sitter and cannot wait to meet your pup:). I started by simply help my friends with their dogs, walking them, dog sitting and even training them too. Animals are such an important and positive part of my life, and I could not imagine my live without this incredible career. Being able to walk dogs has been so rewarding and I absolutely love what I do! I truly believe that all doggos are good doggos and deserve to be loved like they're our children. I make sure to give the same amount of love and attention to all dogs I walk and sit as I do to my very own pup:). I treat all dogs with the love I have for my own! The bond I build with each individual dog is definitely my favorite part of this work. Each dog has such a different & lovely personality and I end up getting to learn about each one and build a loving special relationship with each one! I believe dogs need to be treated with support and kindness so I choose to interact with each clients dogs with a positive reinforcement mindset. So you can rest easy knowing your dog is in good hands with me! My dog, Toby, and I are almost always either long boarding around town, lost in the woods or adventuring around Detroit. I'm very patient when it comes to dog care, dogs who are "difficult" to walk, strong willed, "poorly behaved", nippy, "aggressive" etc. are all dogs I have heaps of experience with and love working with! I've had a lot of experience with dogs in general and love all kinds! Will gladly answer any questions you have and will keep an open line of great communication while spending time with your dog! I cannot stress enough that I believe all dogs are good dogs and just need & deserve lots of quality care! I have completely shifted my career to take on dog care full time! I've taken a leave from prior work to spend more time in my community. I volunteer a lot but have very open availability:). Whatever you need I can most likely make work, so just ask for what you need and we can figure some arrangement out:). As for Toby, my dog, he is a very friendly dog! He usually goes on most of the walks I do with other dogs unless noted by the client! I would never surprise your dog or mine with a walk with a strange new dog so no worries about any potential clashing. I make sure to be fully attentive when walking a client's dog and make sure they have all my focus and love while we are together. I give lots of praise and support when we walk while making sure they aren't getting into anything they shouldn't be! In regards to dog sitting. I prefer to take the clients dog back to my home. Although my home is an apartment, it is very dog friendly with a great/large fenced in yard for dogs to enjoy. My dog is almost always in the car with me wherever I go and I'd most likely do the same with your dog if I'm dog sitting! Again, any questions, just ask:). Dog walking and pet sitting is my full time job! Currently I have openings for a few more dogs to walk throughout the week so as for my daily and weekly routine, it is the main part of my routine. As for pet sitting I get booked up rather quickly so please ask asap! I live in a dog friendly apartment. I too have a dog who gets along great with other dogs! If your dog is not great with other dogs, my dog always stays with my father and never has to be in my home while I am watching your pup. My apartment does have a large fenced in yard for dogs to run around and play in! And when your dog is at my home they will get treated with just as much love as I give my own dog:). I will make sure to stick to the same rules you have for your dog at your home. For example, crated when not home or not allowed on furniture, feeding times, walking schedules etc. I do prefer to have the clients dog always stay at my home though! Pet care is my full time job:). I do dog walking, sitting and work with a trainer every day of the week! It's my career. Safety is the number one priority! Make sure they are constantly monitored and never have anything that could cause potential harm! When on walks, or out and about, I never have a clients pet interact with any other dogs or humans that they don't know. Risk mitigation! Second is comfort, consistency and joy! I treat all dogs like they're my own dog! With the utmost positive love and affection. Making sure we stick to any schedule they may be on or any trainings they are working on. I try to make sure that the dog has the most enriching and nurturing experience!

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Huntington Woods
Becca is our go to sitter when we go on trips. We got a new cat since we last booked with her. Our new girl is very timid, and hides when she sees a new person and hears a new sounds so we were a bit nervous as to how she would react. To our surprise, she was the outgoing one, seeking out pets and attention! We knew our other cat loved her, but knowing our new girl felt just as comfortable was a huge relief. Thank you, Becca!

Alexis was amazing! She went above and beyond for our Nala, making sure she was loved and taken care of while we were out of the country for an extended amount of time. Alexis was very communicative with us throughout the whole time. We would definitely highly recommend her to anyone on here.

Rebecca took care of our 2 cats during a quick weekend trip and was so nice to accommodate us on short notice. The cats were very happy to see her and get their wet food and play time! We already booked Rebecca for a longer trip and know the cats will be treated well!

Susan was amazing with my 3 small dogs, especially my little boy Pom who is very skiddish! She followed all my instructions to a "T" and I'm a picky doggie mama lol! She gave all my pups lots of love and attention, too. They really loved her and I have lots of cute pics & videos she sent me to prove it! I would definitely hire Susan again to watch our pups (in our home)!

Katie was amazing with my pup! She came over to meet her before and made sure she was comfortable/set up for the best situation. She was so sweet and kind and was very flexible when I had to add an additional time for check-in. I will definitely be using her again and really appreciated how she was available last minute. Highly recommend for others!
Heather was super responsive and set me at ease with my first time utilizing Rover. She was very accommodating and I will absolutely utilize her again for drop ins when I am away in the future. Thank you again Heather. You were the highlight of Fig’s weekend as well!

Sydney was wonderful to have watch my cat! She was super prompt with visiting on the scheduled times, and she sent such good updates and cute photos. I could tell she also gave my cat so much love while I was gone. Sydney was also sweet enough to water my outdoor flowers everyday, which I was so appreciative of. I will definitely request Sydney to cat sit again in the future.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone.
