About: Caring for dogs has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up surrounded by dogs, cats, and other pets, so understanding their personalities and needs comes naturally. I've walked and cared for rescue dogs with a wide range of temperaments and energy levels at the dog shelter I've volunteered in. I've also dog sat for friends and family over the years, and have even helped care for Rover clients' dogs on behalf of friends who were sitters. These experiences have taught me how important it is to provide not just basic care, but patience, consistency, and lots of affection. I treat every dog as if they were my own, whether they love long walks, energetic playtime, or simply relaxing with good company. I'm employed full-time, but I have a flexible hybrid work schedule and can work from home when needed to provide attentive care for your pup. An added bonus is that my wife, who's an even bigger dog lover than I am and has owned dogs throughout her life, is home during the day. That means your pup will have extra companionship, supervision, and lots of affection while staying with us. On weekends, we're both home and can dedicate our full attention to keeping your dog active, happy, and comfortable. The best care comes from keeping pets comfortable by following the routine they're already familiar with. I'll stick to your feeding schedule, walking routine, potty breaks, playtime, bedtime, and any special instructions you provide. If your dog has medications, dietary restrictions, or favorite toys and activities, I'll make sure those needs are met. I enjoy playing with dogs, going on walks, and making sure they get both physical activity and time to relax. I also know how reassuring updates can be, so I'll send regular photos and messages so you can see how your pet is doing while you're away.

About: I've had dogs for as long as I can remember. I started raising dogs while I was still living with my parents decades ago, and looking back, I don't think there has ever been a time in my life when I didn't have a dog by my side. I've raised my dogs from about 8 weeks old through every stage of their lives. My current dog, Wrigley, is a Golden Retriever who is now over 9 years old. I recently retired, which gives me the time and flexibility to give your dog the attention, care, and companionship they deserve. I'm not looking to simply keep busy — I genuinely enjoy being around dogs and spending time with them. Over the years, I've learned how to understand dogs, handle them confidently, and care for them with patience, caution, and respect. Whether it's going for a walk, playing, providing companionship, or simply making sure they're comfortable and safe, I enjoy the responsibility that comes with caring for someone's pet. When your dog is with me, my goal is simple: to treat them with the same patience, attention, and care that I would want for my own dog. My schedule is very flexible, and I'm available throughout the week, including weekends. I'm confident we can arrange a schedule that fits both your needs and mine. I provide pet care in the comfort of your pet's own home, along with walks, playtime, and plenty of attention. “Lauren is so great! She helped me out with a last-minute drop in request with only a few hours of notice. The following is my review of Lauren when I first engaged her to care for my dogs…a bit long, but it will paint the picture of the kind-hearted and responsible sitter Lauren is. When my former sitter could no longer care of my dogs, I turned to Rover to find a new caregiver. I was drawn in by Lauren’s profile and clear love of animals. She came over to meet my old dogs (10 and 13 ½) and they hit it off immediately. My boys are always excited for a visitor and smothered Lauren with lots of attention. She was patient with them and really took time to get to know them – outside too. I arranged drop in visits three times a day while I was gone (6 days). She sent me a report card for every visit. They were detailed and included lots of photos (20 or so). Her description of the visits where so good…she captured the quirks of each dog and gave me a general update. Between the photos and her descriptions, I felt like I was there. The report cards have a time stamp and I could see that she spent more than the scheduled time with the dogs. I could tell that my dogs were good and happy. She was great at following instructions for the medication for my older dog. And the house was in order when I returned. My neighbor mention how nice she was and how much time she spent outside with the dogs. I can’t recommend Lauren enough (though selfishly…I only want her when I travel). You would be lucky to have Lauren care for your beloved pets.”

Hadley took care of our three sphynx cats for 3 weeks while we went on an international trip. She took the time to meet the cats prior to us leaving and brought a notebook to take notes on various instructions. She was very thorough and prompt! She documented and provided photographs of our cats and left little vignettes about the visits, which were much appreciated. I would highly recommend her and will continue to request her for all future trips!

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
