“JoAnn did a great job of caring for Tico, while we were on an extended vacation. She set pictures every day, always knew when Tico had his daily walks. She also ensured that Tico’s nail recovered from its injury. I highly recommend JoAnn.”

She sent photos every day and was very responsive. We would definitely ask her to watch our dog again.”

“Melissa was a great sitter for our dog Dusty. She sent pictures and kept us updated. She was flexible when we ended up being later than expected for pick-up. I'm sure Dusty had a great time and we felt comfortable leaving her in good hands. I would definitely call on her services again if and when the time comes.”

“So happy with Erin and Jeff. Our dog has separation anxiety so we wanted somewhere he could stay for our extended trip where he felt at home. We did a few visits before our long trip so he would know Erin and Jeff. When we dropped him off this time he went right in their home and made it his own. And they celebrated having him, and helped him stay comfortable. We were gone for 2 weeks and he had an awesome time! He was very happy to see us, but for showed NO signs of stress or rushing to get home. He had an awesome time! Regular walks, play time with other dogs, playing with Jeff, couch and bedtime cuddles often. Erin and Jeff are winners. We're already scheduled for a future weekend! 5 stars !”

“Teresa and her husband were especially attentive to our dog. They took care of her as she was their own. We are so appreciative to have someone so caring. Thank you being there when our dog needed you the most.”

About: Hi, I’m Sarah! I’m a lifelong animal lover and the proud dog mom of Bella Rose, my rescued miniature dachshund. Caring for Bella has taught me how important patience, consistency, and gentle attention are, especially with shy or nervous dogs. I treat every pet like I would want someone to treat Bella. I’m attentive to routines, feeding instructions, medications, comfort levels, and all the little details that help animals feel safe. Whether your pet loves long walks, playtime, cuddling, or simply having someone nearby, I’ll adjust to what makes them happiest. I’m also an English student and writer, so I have a flexible schedule and plenty of time to give your pet genuine, one-on-one attention. I’ll keep you updated with messages and photos so you can relax knowing your pet is safe, comfortable, and loved. I’m an online English student and writer, so my schedule is flexible and I spend most of my time at home. Pet care fits naturally into my routine, and I’m available for walks, drop-ins, playtime, feeding, and plenty of attention throughout the day. I already plan my days around caring for my own dog, Bella, so making sure pets feel safe, comfortable, and loved is a normal part of my everyday life. I follow each pet’s normal routine and all instructions provided by their owner, including feeding, walks, medications, and house rules. I keep pets supervised, double-check doors and leashes, and never leave them outside unattended. In my home, I introduce pets to Bella slowly and carefully, and I can give them separate spaces when needed. I keep my apartment calm, clean, and comfortable, with plenty of attention and rest time. I’ll also send regular photo and message updates so you always know how your pet is doing.
“Jamie is awesome. I had to leave my 10 month old pup for the first time overnight Jamie was so accommodating and put my mind at ease by sending me pictures thought out the stay. Ace was of course ready to go home but he whimpered a little bit as we drove off. 🐾💕🐾”

“Maria was wonderful with our puppy. This was the longest we had to leave him, and it was nice to know he was in good hands. I really appreciated the updates and pictures. And he had the best time!”

“Everything was great! Susan and Darek took wonderful care of our dog and treated him like a member of their family. Our dog clearly received a lot of love and affection and became best friends with their dog. Communication was perfect. They kept us up to date with lots of pictures and videos which really eased our mind. We have never left our dog with anyone but family before, so we were a little nervous at first. Our dog enjoyed his time with them. We are definitely going to book again in the near future.”

Kelsey took amazing care of Charlie again! I always feel completely at ease knowing he’s with her. She sends great updates and pictures, gives him plenty of love and attention, and treats him like one of her own. Charlie is always happy and well cared for when I pick him up. We’re so grateful to have found someone we can trust—thank you again, Kelsey!

Prior to leaving Daisy during a two-week trip, I left Daisy with Chris for an overnight. When my wife and I dropped her off for the long stay Daisy was so excited to be back with Chris and Brady. That gave us total confidence that Daisy was in good hands. When we picked her up Daisy was happy, looked great and well cared for. We received photos and comments during her stay. Chris was a great dog sitter and has my recommendation.

Here’s a polished, upbeat review you can use: Daniel was fantastic with our little dog, Chewie! From the moment we met him, we felt confident that Chewie would be in great hands. We really appreciated that he only cares for one guest dog at a time, in addition to his own two small dogs. It created a calm, comfortable environment and gave Chewie plenty of individual attention. Daniel kept us updated throughout Chewie’s stay with frequent photos and excellent communication, which gave us so much peace of mind. It was clear that Chewie was happy, well cared for, and treated like part of the family. We wouldn’t hesitate to book with Daniel again and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a caring, reliable dog sitter!

Suraj and his family took excellent care of our senior Shih Tzus on two separate occasions. We received lots of photos and videos, which was nice to know they were being well cared for. Suraj was very accommodating on a short notice request and with regards to drop off and pick up times. Highly recommend!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MI ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
