“We will definitely continue to trust Daniel to take care of Summer in the future. It truly felt like Summer was surrounded by endless love and care. Daniel sent us photos and videos, which gave us so much peace of mind. We could clearly see how happy and comfortable he was there. We believe Summer will miss Daniel and all of their furry friends very much. We are truly grateful and highly recommend Daniel”

“Jane took fantastic care of our pup for a weekend! She sent many pictures and videos and gave him lots of love and affection. Her dog Bowser is also a wonderful playmate and super well-trained, which just goes to show how well she'll treat your pup too. Highly recommended!”

About: I have taken care of family dogs since I was old enough to remember. I grew up with 2 shih tzu's at home, and they were my fiercest protectors. I have taken care of both senior dogs and puppies. I love caring for dogs (every size and breed!). I know how hard it is to leave your best friend behind, which is why my goal is to give you total peace of mind. Whether we’re out for a long walk or curled up on the couch, I promise to treat your pup with the same love and devotion I would give my own. You can enjoy your time away knowing they aren't just being watched—they’re being pampered, played with, and truly cared for. I’m currently working full-time (9 am-5 pm) Monday-Friday, so I would be perfect for a weekend or long weekend coverage. I am available Fridays after 4:30, and typically all day on Saturdays and Sundays. I am also open to staying during the weekdays as long as your pet does not need to be taken out in the middle of the day. I can have pets in my apartment so I am available for boarding! And, I would be more than happy to do home-stays or quick drop-ins for walks and feeding!
“Renee took very good care of Bean for eleven days while my husband and I took a cruise. It was so nice to know Bean had company and was in good hands while we were away. This was my first experience with boarding a cat and the Rover app was a great help. I searched offers in my area, read Renee’s profile and we exchanged information. Bean enjoyed the meet and greet and that sealed the deal. Renee sent pictures and kept us informed. I highly recommend her service.”

“Suraj and his family were amazing! They helped me out last minute during my daughter’s wedding and took such great care of my dog. They were very attentive and sent pictures and updates, which gave me so much peace of mind. I’m so grateful and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a caring sitter!”

About: Reliable, caring pet owner. Provides a safe, non-smoking home and plenty of engagement to your fur babies! A large chunk of my day is spent on providing walkies and ensuring your pet is happy and healthy. I have experience training and raising 5 large dogs and years of petsitting. I work part-time. I am mainly a stay-home mom so I will be home to watch over those pets in my care. I go outside for most of the day and bring all the fur babies with me on long walks. I visit the dog park once a week and at home, we practice lots of tricks! I provide daily walks, potty time every 0-2 hours, training, and plenty of cuddles! I have a 2 year old son and an occasionally reactive dog named Molly who is a lab/chow mix. She is a wonderful dog who is very smart and friendly. However, I do ask that untrained dogs or extremely high-energy dogs that might knock over a child board elsewhere. I do ask that your dog is potty trained, but I can provide potty training if you have a crate. My whole house is carpeted and I would need to know these details in advance. I look forward to housing your fur baby!
“TJ was very nice and easy to work with. They were very accommodating when I had to modify drop off/pickup times. I got photo updates of my cat and she was in good spirits when I picked her up.”

“Teresa and her husband were especially attentive to our dog. They took care of her as she was their own. We are so appreciative to have someone so caring. Thank you being there when our dog needed you the most.”

“Jagoda went above and beyond for my boy Miles. She took him to the dog park and on long walks and even gave him a few extra toys to keep him entertained. She was immaculate with her communication skills and updates and honestly it seemed like Miles wanted to stay longer! I would definitely rest easy knowing Jagoda is taking care of your furry friend. Will definitely will be booking again soon!”

“Día is fantastic! Ellie, my senior dog, looked so happy with her. She sent a lot of pictures during the day. Ellie stayed with Dia for 15 days and I couldn’t be happier with the way Dia took care of Ellie. Highly recommended.”

About: I freaking LOVE dogs. And they love me! I’m very patient, playful, caring and alert. We love having fun together— we both get the zoomies! Dogs tend to listen to and respect me easily. I help them to feel safe by making boundaries clear. I have a lot of experience noticing any indicators if something is off, administering meds, and continuing their existing training. I just love being their buddy! I work from home and have a very flexible schedule. Having a chance to take a walk or spend time with a pet is a great chance for me to clear my mind and get outside. I try to stick a schedule that a pet is accustomed to whenever possible. I get to know their personality and see how I can help them have a good time, and feel safe and comfortable when we’re together. I’m very attentive to their behavior and mood.
“Beth was extremely responsive, flexible, and took great care of my pup. We had just moved to the area so we couldn’t do a meet and greet ahead of time but Beth called me before hand to make sure we were on the same page. Then when my flight was canceled she very graciously kept Miura longer. Miura had a great time and we will definitely book again!”

“Oscar made sure that my fur baby was well taken care of, I felt I had nothing to worry about! I received some pictures throughout the stay and overall, my pup seemed very calm coming home! 10/10 would recommend!”

“Hamini took time to meet Kori before he kept him. He came over the next day with his dog so Kori could meet her. We would use him again. He’s vey personable and we felt very comfortable with his care.”

This was Charlie’s third stay with Kelsey, and I don’t think I could ask for a better sitter! The moment I ask him if he’s ready to go to Kelsey’s house, he gets excited and is the first one to hop in the car. By the time we pull into the driveway, he’s ready to head inside without even looking back. I think he’s convinced it’s his vacation home! Kelsey always goes above and beyond, keeping me updated with messages and photos throughout his stay. Knowing Charlie is having so much fun and being so well cared for makes it so much easier to travel for work. It’s clear how much Kelsey and her family love animals, and Charlie absolutely adores them. If you’re looking for someone dependable, caring, and who will treat your pet like family, I can’t recommend Kelsey enough. Charlie is already looking forward to his next “vacation!”

We had scheduled a one-night stay to help Daisy get some time with Christopher prior to a longer stay in the future. We had to delay the stay for a week. Christopher was very easy to work with and accommodating in adjusting the schedule. Daisy came back for the overnight acting very happy and from all information and appearances it went very well. We feel very comfortable leaving Daisy for a longer stay in the future.

Suraj and his family took excellent care of our senior Shih Tzus on two separate occasions. We received lots of photos and videos, which was nice to know they were being well cared for. Suraj was very accommodating on a short notice request and with regards to drop off and pick up times. Highly recommend!

Daniel and Terry took such wonderful care of our furbaby Archie while we were away. From the moment we met them, they made us feel comfortable and reassured that Archie would be in loving, capable hands. They were kind, communicative, attentive, and clearly genuine animal lovers. Archie came home happy, relaxed, and well cared for, which says everything. We really appreciated the updates, flexibility, and the warm environment they provided for him during his stay. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing he was being treated like part of the family instead of “just a pet.” We would absolutely trust Daniel and Terry again in the future and highly recommend them to anyone looking for caring, dependable pet sitters. Thank you both for taking such great care of our sweet boy, Archie! 💗

Jane is extremely trustworthy and reliable. She's watched our dog a few times, but this time he unexpectedly had separation anxiety and a lot of GI issues. She told us exactly what was going on, took him to the vet, put us on speaker phone during the appointment, and communicated with us every time he took medication. I really can't speak highly enough about how well she handled what must have been a challenging week.

Amy and Ray were absolutely wonderful and truly saved our vacation! They stepped in last minute after another sitter canceled and took amazing care of our high-energy girl, Kora. They were attentive, thoughtful, and clearly cared about making her feel safe and comfortable. When a noise scared her, they even built her a little “fort” to help her settle down — which meant so much to us knowing she was being cared for with that level of kindness. We’re incredibly grateful they stepped in on short notice and treated Kora like their own. Highly recommend!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MI ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
