About this sitter:

Married mother of 3 children, working at home as a medical transcriptionist

Why I love dog sitting

My husband and I have both had dogs all our lives and love all breeds. Our children's first and second dogs, Thor was a mixed Lab and Biscuit a Puggle both lived long and healthy lives and we loved them for 14 and 15 years respectfully.

About my yard

Large fenced in back yard with trees for shade and lots of room to run and play. We have taken a lot of precaution to ensure the fence bottoms are secure and there are no areas that a small guest can get out. Most times we also go outside with them anyway to have some play time.

My experience administering medication

Yes, i have given many shots and oral medication and we do not charge anything additional for this!

Pet Loving in MichiganWhitmore Lake, MI

Suzanne and I are retired and we love pets. We have had pets since childhood and are very experienced with dogs and cats. We have taken care of our neighbors' pets for many years. Since we are both retired, we are able to care for and be with our doggy guests around the clock. There is a nice park a short walk away with a beach and a dog park nearby that we use frequently for our furry friends.

We maintain a good supply of tennis balls, rubber balls, every type of play toy imaginable, frisbees, and of course, a well-stocked drawer of healthy, low calorie treats.

In addition, we have a great deal of practice training dogs and seem to gain their trust quickly and easily. We have a lot of experience caring for dogs needing regular injections and ones who have other medical needs.

Suzanne and I have hosted some of the most wonderful four-legged guests and are thrilled to be able to do something that we love so much. We love the walks and thoroughly enjoy play time for the dogs that appreciate a good rousing game of fetch or tug of war.

Nature's OmniUnum Farm.Ann Arbor, MI

Although I have resided in RI, GA, FL, NJ, NYC and Namibia, I am a Michigander with roots in Ann Arbor since 1961, who is now ensconced 24/7 in development of 6.75 partially wooded acres of beyond organic gardens providing all-natural vegetables and fruits on a zoned agricultural parcel in Northfield Township (North of Ann Arbor, South of Whitmore Lake and East of Dexter) between Joy and Northfield Church Roads.

A 1930's era former hunting cabin upgraded recently to a bucolic three-bedroom single family home and modest barn/garage situated at the eastern front of this long rectangular property are the only structures currently shared with my Australian Shepherd and Orange Tabby (both male), but we have often entertained other dogs and cats with and without their owners present and for periods up to seven weeks at a time.

The borders of the front 3-acre clearing surrounding the house and barn are defined by a northern fence and a southern creek meandering back through the wooded area all the way past the western edge. Just outside the back door of the house is a 3/4-acre outdoor off-leash exercise area for our canine guests secured with 6 ft. fencing and equipped with fresh water "kiddy" pools replenished daily. There spontaneous chase, tag, and keep-away opportunities are plentiful and often favored over fetch and/or frisbee.

Although, in past seasons, we have raised poultry (including Muscovy ducks, various chicken breeds and African geese) only the foraging of wild birds (eg. redwing blackbirds, cowbirds, cardinals, bluebirds, swallows, chickadees, wrens, orioles, grackles, starlings, various woodpeckers, finches and sparrows, hummingbirds and seasonal cranes etc.) is encouraged here,....... at present. Raccoon, muskrat, possum, coyote, and fox sightings are occasional, but my vigilance and my dog's presence seem to have thwarted any unwelcome visits by such potential predators. Here deer stroll, frogs and toads hop, harmless snakes slither and turkey buzzards soar daily but hawks (mostly redtail) are infrequent visitors.

Camera-shy Magus, a terrific watchdog that barks ONLY when strangers arrive, NEVER is aggressive, and LOVES having both human and non-human company. Mr. Lickety, who owns both Magus and me, is the epitome of that old saw, "Whereas, dogs have owners, cats have staff."

In this natural setting, all neighbors respect everyone's appreciation of flora, fauna, privacy and peace. (For fresh-air seclusion, there is a completely enclosed +600 sq. ft. area just outside the back door between the barn/garage and the northern exposure of the house. There one can enjoy ample shade, slate/brick flooring, plenty of foliage and a small fish pond/waterfall. Many other similar oases and/or private "safe spots" are extant both indoors and out.)

Like part of our family boardingPlymouth, MI

Greetings dog lovers. My wife, Tammy and I share our home with our 5 year old rescued Shepherd mix dog, Grace. Grace gets along well with other dogs and Tammy stays at home, so they will be there to take care of and play with your dog. One of our clients sadly had to give up their dog and asked Tammy and I if we would take her. We now have a second dog , Karma.

We like to go on long walks for exercise so we can offer plenty of walks, play time, and lots of attention. In addition we have a large open house, Florida room, deck, and fenced in backyard. A caring dog friendly home away from home.

Our dogs, like so many others we have cared for, are rescue dogs and we believe in giving back to help the care of dogs in need. $5 from every 5 night stay will be donated to the ASPCA for animal rescue. In addition, we support iheartdogs in their effort to provide meals to sheltered dogs.

We are happy to do meet and greets to answer any questions you may have. Proof of rabies shot is required. We recognize how important it is to you, your dog, and to us to feel comfortable and secure knowing you've chosen a safe, clean, fun, and interactive environment.

We look forward to getting to know you and your family pet. It is wonderful being able to take care of so many dogs over and over again. We will treat your dog like part of our family.

I've always had a love for dogs, all dogs really. I grew up with 3 dogs in our home and had two dogs of my own before my divorce. I love helping others with their doggies. I love seeing and learning the different personalities of all the dogs and breeds. My two boys love dogs too and are eager to help and cuddle with your doggies. I have a fenced backyard, room for them to run and play and will walk them too. Recently we got a German Shepherd puppy named Mya. She is very playful and loves playing with the other dogs, but also knows when it's time to relax and knows when other dogs have had enough play time too. My boyfriends dogs often visit and sometimes stay overnight and they love other dogs and love to play too. Your pet/s will be loved and cared for as it is one of my own. I can promise you that. Please let me know if you have any questions at all. Just ask!! Hope to hear from you soon!

I have owned a dog most of my life. My last dog passed away in 2013 after 14 years of loving care. I also volunteer at the Michigan Humane Society. I currently have an indoor cat, but I always have a love for dogs. I offer walks, play time and love for your dog . I care for your dog as if he or she is my own. Please bring a dog bed or crate to sleep, they are also welcome on my bed. Food and water dishes and a toy so your dog has something from home. I will send you photos and videos each day to show you all the fun things we are doing.

I require proof of rabies shot and flea prevention for the safety of my household.

Canine buddy and exercise!Ypsilanti, MI

Hello, I'm Amy. I currently have one dog - Cassie. Cassie's very well socialized and friendly but if yours is not as social, that's ok too - she's a pretty sweet, quiet girl who love being outside, with her people or in the house and keeping watch on our street.

I recently lost my dog Ein, who was older but acted like a puppy, and had developed diabetes (and cataracts as a result so unfortunately can't see). He lost his best buddy to prostate cancer and after that is when I started doing Rover as he loved having company. Cassie was adopted as she was a show dog and greeter dog at her original owner's kennel who ended up retiring and gave her to us to keep Ein company in case we didn't have guests over and she fit in here like she's always been with us!

I have a dog proofed room in the house and a fenced yard - though if you have an escape artist please let me know as the fence isn't 6 ft. If you have a crate trained dog, I have an XL crate as well (I had a 130 lb German Shepard - Ein's buddy Spock before he passed away).

I'm very experienced in giving both oral/injectable medications and would love the exercise. I live in a neighborhood next to a lake so short or long walks are an option. I do have a regular job during the weekdays as well so drop offs/pickups are either in the morning or evenings during the week and I do require guest dogs to be crate trained for when I'm at work for their safety as well as the safety of mine and the house.

I love animals of all sizes and breeds!!!

I would love to look after your dog

**

I board 1 dog at a time.

I am available for walks and drop in visits

**

I have been surrounded by animals from a toddler. I grew up with 3 cats and other animals. I would also walk my neighbours' dog every week. When I came home from college for the holidays I would look after a friends' dog while they were at work everyday. We would go on long walks on walk ways, the beach and play in dog parks. I have been on Rover for a few years now and have looked after all sorts of dogs with different needs.

I treat all dogs well and don't get angry when puppies have accidents, or even adult dogs! I know dogs love to be outside and would take them on long or regular walks. I live near a few walk ways and a dog park as well as my apartment has lots of grassy areas to play round.

I finished my degree in performance violin at the University of Michigan. I am mostly at home practicing so its great to have company and to get outside and have fun. My apartment is on the first floor and has a sun room great for a dogs. My husband is also mostly at home, who is also great with dogs and has been a great help the last few years.

My schedule is flexible, however, I have the odd orchestra performance each month. I believe communication and honesty are important especially when I have the responsibility of taking care of your pet.

If you need someone experienced, responsible and trustworthy to stay in your home while your away, please consider me.

I am a 30 something Registered Nurse currently working part time and in graduate school to become a Nurse Practitioner. I started on Rover.com in 2013 as a pet sitter, but my husband and I moved last year and can no longer host dogs at our home, but am happy to travel to yours!

I have grown up with dogs and cats my whole life and love them with every ounce of my being. I promise to take care of your dog(s) and or cat(s) as if they were my own. I am a homeowner myself and am very tidy, so I am able to take care of and maintain your home while your away (getting mail, watering gardens/plants, cleaning, etc.)

I work 30+ hours a week but would not be gone more than 9 hours at a time, I do not work weekends (except for an occasional Saturday morning) and holidays. My time away from work would be spent playing with and petting your animals, and I love study sessions curled up with dogs and cats :).

Please consider me as a house sitter, you will not be disappointed! If you have questions, please don't hesitate to contact me and ask, I am quick to respond!
