About: I've taken care of a variety of animals through out my life such as cats, dogs, geckos, and fish. I am trained on giving dogs oral medicine. I volunteer at a local animal shelter where I'm working on my Fear Free Shelter certification and Fear Free Homes certification. I am currently working a part-time job, so my schedule is pretty free. I do not mind early mornings or late evenings. I am flexible. I can drop in and visit your cat or dog. I love playing with both. I can also perform basic care like feeding, watering, cleaning litter boxes. I can also take your dog on walks.
About: I’ve worked at a doggy daycare/boarding facility for a little over 2 years. I was responsible for monitoring groups of upwards of 40 dogs at once. I have a keen eye for dog behavior and preventing dangerous situations related to their behaviors. I also know how to administer meds such as insulin shots, oral liquids/pills, eye drops, and creams. I have quite a bit of experience working with senior dogs who require extra time, love and patience! I also know a lot about how to work with fearful or anxious pups. I also know a little bit about dog training. I am currently a college student at SVSU. I have a M/W class from 2:30-4:20 so can be available anytime other than those two hours! I also have Tue/Thur classes but I can be available before 9am, from 12:40-2:20, or after 5:30! And I have open availability on weekends! I care for them as if they’re my own but keeping in mind that they aren’t at the same time. I respect them and the homes that they live in. I also will follow all rules of how to care for/act around the dog that you, the owners give me!
“Carolyn always does such a wonderful job with our sensitive dog! She's great at adjusting to whatever mood he's in, whether it's playtime or just chill time, and going with the flow so that he's comfortable.”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs and cats throughout my whole life. I grew up with dogs from the shelter and cats that were taken in as strays. I’ve pet sat for friends and family many times over the years. Feeding cats, changing litter boxes, walking/playing with dogs, and handling medications. I currently have my own cat and my family has 2 more at their home. I’m also a graduating medical student and have a great medical and first aid background which is often very similar in humans and animals. I’d feel confident managing whatever needs your pet may have. I’m currently awaiting graduation so I have full availability during the day, every day of the week. Plus weekends too. I would be able to pet sit most days from ~8a-8p! But I’m flexible! I would be diligent in collecting thorough instructions from owners and making sure to follow them to a tee. I’d ideally like to do a meet and greet prior to a sitting. And then I’m willing and able to crate dogs, let them out into the yard, put in collar/leash and take on walks. For cats, I’m able to manage whatever diet they may be on, address the litter box, play or cuddle with them, and so on
“Fatima went above and beyond while caring for our cat. Her visit cards were always very thorough, she included great photos, and it was clear our cat loved having her around. Would rebook with Fatima in a heartbeat!”

“Jamie takes such good care of our kitty when we are away, including ensuring she gets all of her meds - no easy task! Jamie is proactive, accomodating, reliable, and has the right touch with our kitty. I can recommend!”

About: I understand how some animals need special care. I have a 14 year old cat that has an autoimmune disease. When he is fed, there is a detailed list of thing’s that must go into his food. I have also cared for a senior cat that needed to eat at very specific times because he was so thin. Every animal is different and as owners we know what they need to have their best life. I do my best to treat each pet just as their owners treat them. I work part time right now and the only days I am not completely available are Tuesdays and Thursday. I can care for your pet Monday and Wednesday anytime and Friday through Sundays anytime if your animals are alright with children because I have a 9 year old son. I won’t be able to bring your pet to my home because I have multiple cats that would be disturbed. I however can care for them at your house.
About: What sets me apart from other sitters is my deep understanding of animals’ individual needs and my commitment to providing care that’s both compassionate and reliable. I have hands-on experience with pets of all ages, from energetic puppies who need structure and training, to senior pets who require patience, medication management, and a gentle touch. I also currently work at an animal boarding facility that would take all species of animals so I have current and up to date experience with all types of animals including reptiles, small mammals/rodents, large mammals, and birds as well as administering medications. Pet care is a natural part of my daily routine. I structure my day around feeding, walking, playtime, and any special needs each pet requires. Whether in my home or a client’s, I prioritize a calm, safe, and clean environment where pets feel secure and loved. I follow each pet’s routine closely, including medication, exercise, and cuddle time, while keeping pet parents updated with regular check-ins. Safety and trust are always my top priorities—I treat every pet like family and every home with respect. Safety, trust, and a comfortable environment are at the heart of how I care for pets—whether in my home or my client’s. I follow each pet’s routine closely to maintain consistency and reduce stress, including feeding schedules, walks, medication, and playtime. In a client’s home, I respect their space and ensure it stays clean and secure. In my home, pets enjoy a safe, pet-proofed space with plenty of comfort and supervision. I build trust by offering calm, attentive care and sending regular updates, so pet parents feel confident and connected while they’re away.

About: My family regularly fostered pets throughout my childhood, and I was heavily engaged in their care and training. Since I moved away from home, I am always first in line to dog sit for my friends and family! I currently work evenings most week days, so I am able to be present during the typical work day! I am unavailable for boarding, but will gladly stay with pets or drop by and visit/walk during the day! I am happy to spend time with the pet in their own environment, or take them out on walks or to parks! If the pet prefers to be engaged with I love to play, or if they just need a sitter while they roam the house I can occupy myself with a book!
“Tonya did a great job taking care of our three cats. She visited them consistently every day, and sent photos and notes about how they were doing. When we returned home, our cats were happy and healthy!”

About: My family had a dog (Buddy) for 9 years. Through caring for him, I have learned to love caring for animals. I have also been a cat and dog sitter/walker for a number of my neighbors over the past 6 years. I am great with both high and low energy pets! I have a full time job, however I do have a lot of flexibility. I am happy to adjust my schedule to get to spend time with your pets! I sadly don’t currently have a pet. In the past, I enjoyed playing with my dog, taking him for walks, and spending as much time with him as possible. He had a lot of energy, especially for an older dog. I was always gentle and patient with him. I would bring my patience to any pet I watch. I truly just love animals and would be a great sitter for your pet.
“Brianna is amazing! Communication was really excellent and she took our pup on 2 walks during the time she cared for him (even though we didn’t specifically request them- he LOVES walks!). He was clearly very well taken care of and we’ll definitely reach out to Brianna again the next time we’re away for a weekend!”

“Laura B. was a fantastic sitter and sent me plenty of updates along the way. As a Rover newbie, it gave me sooooooo much peace of mind. I would happily recommend her to check in on your canine companions!”

About: Growing up I had a dog and several cats that were incredibly important to me. Now as an adult I have my own dog who is my best friend and the light of my life. As much as I would like to take her everywhere I go, that's not reality so I understand the importance of a good caregiver. Whether you're going on a daytime adventure and need someone to check on your best friend or just need someone to get a walk in while you're not available, I'm your person! As for the cute cats in your life, I would love to help there too. I currently work as a nanny and the family has cats. Part of my daily responsibilities are feeding them and of course an added bonus is getting cuddles. I currently work as a nanny in the evenings. This means that I have plenty of free time before 3pm to care for your pets and give them all the love they need. I'm free Mon- Thurs before 3pm and typically anytime on the weekends. As a nanny I understand what it's like to be trusted to go into someone else's home and care for the people and animals that are their world. I treat every home I'm in with respect and want to ensure that my clients feel at peace knowing someone is coming into their home.
“Mikaela was a life saver! She even dropped by 2X a few days to help keep Rosie company. I would highly recommend Mikaela - she is responsible, friendly and kind. She did a great job and we hope to see her again!”

About: I absolutely love dogs! I’ve been dogsitting since my grandparents let me (8 years old) and haven’t looked back since. I miss my family dog and am in need of an animal to love on. I’m super used to all types of dogs from the more aggressive friendly type to more shy ones and love them all. My goal is to make sure your pet feels loved, safe, and taken care of while you’re out. I am currently finishing up my masters at the university of Michigan. My work is mostly remote so I will be able to give your pet the attention it deserves! I love giving pets company and making sure we spend quality time together. I love going for walks, playing with toys, or just cuddling (depending on the energy levels).
About: Hi, I’m Rhiannon! I’m a graduate student based in Michigan with over five years of pet care experience. I started pet-sitting because I love animals, but unfortunately, it is not practical for me to have my own at this point in my life. Throughout my time pet-sitting, I’ve cared for dogs of all sizes and energy levels, cats with unique personalities, senior pets, and animals with special care needs. I have experience administering medications. I know how important it is for pets to stay on their routines, and I am detail-oriented in following instructions laid out for your pets. I love getting to know each pet's unique personality and needs. I work to earn their trust and ensure they feel comfortable and happy while you are away :) Communication is a top priority for me. You'll receive regular updates, photos, and messages so you always know how your pet is doing. I used to have my own Labradoodle and rabbit, so I understand how your pets are truly part of the family. I’d love the opportunity to meet you and your pet(s)—feel free to reach out with any questions or to schedule a meet and greet! As a graduate student, I have a flexible schedule that allows me to dedicate plenty of time to pet care. I'm available throughout the summer for house sitting, dog walking, and drop-in visits, with flexibility for mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends. I carefully manage my schedule and only accept bookings that I can fully commit to, ensuring your pets receive reliable, attentive care and plenty of companionship while you're away. Your pet's safety, comfort, and well-being are always my top priorities. I take the time to carefully follow all care instructions and maintain your pet's normal routine so they feel secure and stress-free while you're away. I have experience caring for senior pets, administering medications, managing multi-pet households, and working with shy, anxious, or escape-prone animals. I understand that every pet has unique needs, and I tailor my care to their personality, energy level, and routine. I'm respectful of every home I visit and pay close attention to details, whether that's keeping feeding schedules consistent, ensuring medications are given correctly, watering plants, or following special household instructions. I always make sure doors, gates, and other entry points remain secure and stay attentive during walks and outdoor time. You can count on me to provide dependable care, clear communication, regular updates, and plenty of photos so you can feel confident that your pets are happy, safe, and well cared for.

Katie was a real hero! She made sure my pups had everything they needed and beyond. My senior dogs had an unexpected overnight accident, and Katie handled it with kindness and professionalism. I truly appreciated her flexibility and care in dealing with an unusual situation. Knowing my pups were in such great hands gave me real peace of mind. I’d happily trust Katie with them again.

We LOVE Denae! This is our second time booking her and she was great! There were some flight issues and changes in our schedule that she was very helpful with, and even helped us get back into the house after I realized I'd forgotten to leave keys out for my partner! The animals adore her, even the shy ones. She's my go-to sitter forever!

Emily is amazing all around!! Katy my 12 year old Shih Tzu absolutely loves her and always looks forward to seeing her when she comes each day for her mid-day walk and fun. She's very prompt, courteous, and flexible. Her daily reports are so nice and sweet including the pics she takes. I couldn't have asked for a better person to walk and care for Katy.

Ivy did a great job watching my dog Porter. He is a large dog who is afraid of everything, so he can be a challenge to watch. Ivy quickly made friends with him, and she took care of him while we were away for the holiday. She sent some amazing pictures and went above and beyond to make sure he was well cared for.

Steve & Kara were reliable & friendly. I truly appreciated when they took Elio on longer walks & stayed for the full hour time of booking. Got lots of cute pictures and Elio seemed well taken care of & happy while I was away. Would recommend to anyone looking to for a dog sitter, they did great!

My dog is a bit of a challenge. He is really timid, and it takes him time to get used to people. Rani won him over quickly and took good care of him. Her communication was great, and she gave a lot of details about each of her visits. I would highly recommend her for your pet sitting needs.

Peace of mind is what Jenna provided us! We are first time Rover users. Jenna was all business with a huge side of kindness!! She fought the awful elements here in Michigan...we were gone during the extreme cold so we are extra appreciative! She even washed out the food containers I had prepared our dog's food in, as well as the fun lick pad we use for our cat! I honestly didn't expect that because I am lazy and leaving them soaking for a week! Hahaha Also, being that we were gone for 7 days (they are used to me being home everyday) I appreciated the pictures of Piper and Archer cuddling with Jenna! Tells me all I need to know! Jenna will be our future extended fam!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover Card updates, and same-day cancellations.
To find sitters in Ypsilanti with recurring or weekly availability, select "Repeat Weekly" and which days you’d like them to care for your pet.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
