“Winnie was so calm and settled when we picked her up. We also received photos, videos and updates. There was great communication overall and we got to chat when we dropped her off as an introduction which was nice. Also received some cute dachshund socks! Thank you :)”

“Jane is fantastic! She responds to my request quickly and is easily communicated. She is taking a good care of my puppy, play with him, walk him and send me pictures/video that greatly soothe my nerves (as this is my first time to trust someone to take care of my high-energy puppy).”

“Panda came back so-o-o relaxed and happy from Laura and Manuel's. (He was happy to go there, and in no big hurry to come home!) Good amount of feedback of how he spent his day and how he behaved. Their dogs are such a sweet little dog pack for any pup to join! And Laura is so good at putting anxious dogs at ease.”

About: Hi! I’m TJ (they/he) Since joining Rover in 2022, I’ve cared for a variety of pets, including dogs, cats, multi-pet households, and even a bearded dragon. I also have two cats of my own and regularly care for 3 dogs and 4 cats during the week, so pet care is already a big part of my everyday life. Through my experience, I’ve developed a thoughtful and adaptable approach to caring for pets with different personalities, comfort levels, and energy levels. Whether that means keeping up with feeding routines, fresh water, potty breaks, litter box care, playtime, treats, or helping a pet settle down and feel comfortable, I always try to adjust my care to each pet’s individual needs. I also have experience with overnight stays and caring for both dogs and cats in the same home. I pay close attention to behavior and routine, keep the environment clean and low-stress, and communicate with owners if anything comes up so I can care for their pets the way they prefer. I do work late nights most of the week, but I strive to keep my schedule as flexible as possible :) I approach every booking with the same care and dedication I’d want for my own pets, making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for while you’re away. Please note that while my legal name appears on my profile, I prefer to go by TJ. I’m excited to meet your pets and provide them with personalized, dependable care! I always make sure to spend as much time with my pets as possible and take care of their needs to let them know they are loved:) I have two cats of my own, so I know how important it is for pets to feel safe, comfortable, and secure in their environment. Caring for them is part of my everyday routine, from feeding and fresh water to litter box care, attention, and making sure they feel at ease in their space. I’ve also been regularly caring for 3 dogs and 4 cats during the week since July 2025, so I understand the importance of following each pet’s routine carefully and providing dependable, attentive care while their owners are away.
About: I've had and loved and owned animals my whole life. I have worked at a vet's office, 2 humane societies, and 3 zoos. I used to travel to schools all over the country doing animal programs in schools, libraries, and other events. I've fostered dogs for rescued, and pets sat for friends. I'm retired, so all my attention will go to making your pet(s) feel safe and happy. I will provide stimulating activities and lots of cuddles. I am willing to give baths and do nails. I am experienced at giving medications and handling emergency situations. All toxins are out of reach.
“Mina wonderful with my little Taco! It was his first time away from home, and Mina really put my mind at ease, sending me tons of photos and videos of Taco having a blast. He’s definitely coming back for more playdates and boarding.”

“Novah had a great day with Rachel and Michael and Ember! Novah loved running in their very large fenced in yard. Rachel went out of her way to make sure everything went smoothly. And Michael spent a long time with Novah outside playing with her and working on training activities. I highly recommend Rachel if you want a fun and safe place for your dog for day care! Thank you Rachel and Michael! Novah is excited to see you all again soon!”

“Kayden took our puppy for 9 hours with only an hours notice! We got frequent updates and several pictures of our puppy during her time at Daycare, which helped us know she was happy! Kayden knew just how to handle our anxious, 1st time visitor and make her feel at ease and keep her happy while we explored the town!”

“Andrew was quick to respond and asked all the questions to be able to care for my dogs. My dogs seemed to be very comfortable during this stay and would definitely rebook next time I'm in need of a sitter for my girls.”

“I can tell that Heather really treated our dog like part of her family. And I can tell, too, that Panda had a very tiring, happy day at her house. He was excited to see me, but in NO hurry to go home. And he's been sleeping since we got back.”

“Goose had a great time, seems like he felt right at home, and made friends with Pepper! I highly recommend Elizabeth, Brian, and Pepper for dogsitting. Thank you so much for taking him late notice, and being so flexible and accommodating:)”

“Rylee did an excellent job! She kept us informed throughout the day on how the dogs were doing. Very personable and friendly to work with. Both dogs were tired from the day playing.”

“Thank you for being so kind and taking care of Cooper. From allowing me to with ahead of time and providing me picture updates as this was my first time leaving him with someone else other than daycare or family.”

“I couldn’t possibly be happier with my dog’s experience at Teresa’s home. From our meet and greet a few days ago to daycare today, Teresa has been nothing but kind, knowledgeable, and welcoming to my dog and my family. Her dogs were a great mix of playful and chill - my pup is worn out this evening, haha. This is EXACTLY what I was hoping for when I thought about daycare for my new rescue dog. Many more playdates to come. 🙂 It’s so comforting knowing she was in excellent hands.”

“Shannon and her family are fantastic! Sasha had a busy and fun-filled day, and came home the best kind of tuckered out. Sasha is counting days til her next stay. Thank you!!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Ypsilanti
Angelica and her husband provide exceptional pet care and provide thoughtful updates/videos during daycare. They are very attentive and patient with my anxious pup, always keeping a close eye and making sure she is comfortable and adjusting to the new environment. They have a very dog friendly home with gates, secure outdoor fencing with a large lovely yard for the dogs to play and a great selection of puzzle toys and healthy treats. What I appreciate most is that they keep only a small number of dogs at a time and only accept small dogs, which was exactly what I was looking for since my dog is nervous around larger breeds and crowded daycares. Having their own sweet small dog, Archie, also adds an opportunity for socialization.

Kara and Steven were great! We did a meet and greet and this was our first time doing daycare. Both appointments were easy to set up with clear, quick communication from Kara and Steven. During daycare, they updated the app with pics. They also took my pup on two long, beautiful walks -- much appreciated!

Melanie was so great with my little one — she got walks, lots of attention, and came back smelling so good! Also, her pup Giovanni was the *perfect* playmate. My little Pip immediately warmed to him, and I got the sweetest videos of them playing and then sleeping next to each other 🥹 Highly recommend Melanie, and so appreciate her taking Pip so last minute!

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MI ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
