“We appreciated Tammy and Duane's quick response to our initial contact and their flexibility to keep Molly on short notice. They kept our girl happy and gave us some tips for seeing the area.”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs of my own, as well as for friends and family for the past 15 years, including puppies and senior aged dogs. I’m currently in part-time online graduate school so I’ve got plenty of time to give your dog all the attention and love they need and want! I have a large backyard and a pet friendly neighborhood. I have one 17 pound, 9 year old dog who gets along with other dogs. I have two young children who also love dogs!
“Maeve absolutely loved Karen for day care today, evident by her running all the way down the sidewalk into her arms this morning! Karen was attentive and sent lots of pictures, Maeve is looking forward to future day care!”

About: I’ve taken care of a wide range of pets and have lots of experience. I had cats and dogs growing up and started pet sitting for neighbors and family friends when I was around 12 years old. I am used to taking care of both puppies and kittens along with senior cats and dogs. I have pet sit for animals that require medication and looked after my own dogs post surgery. I have volunteered at shelters/fostered and worked with animals of all temperaments. I just got back from a year abroad and won’t be starting school back up until January so I have lots of time and no set schedule. I often go to the gym Monday and Friday morning and hikes with my mothers dog on the weekends but I’m flexible. I have pet sit and my home and at the clients home and am comfortable with either! My house has a fenced in yard and is close to a park. I have recently taken in my grandfathers elderly cat she’s very quiet and sweet and spends most of her time sleeping in my bed. I also occasionally watch my moms husky mix who loves to play with other dogs.
“I wish I could leave 10 stars! Eleasha kept me in the loop daily with notes & pictures, which was super nice while I was away. When I picked my dog up he was all smiles and didn’t want to leave!! haha. Thanks again for taking such good care of Finn!”

“I couldn’t possibly be happier with my dog’s experience at Teresa’s home. From our meet and greet a few days ago to daycare today, Teresa has been nothing but kind, knowledgeable, and welcoming to my dog and my family. Her dogs were a great mix of playful and chill - my pup is worn out this evening, haha. This is EXACTLY what I was hoping for when I thought about daycare for my new rescue dog. Many more playdates to come. 🙂 It’s so comforting knowing she was in excellent hands.”

“Thank you Holland! It was lovely meeting you and your family. I felt Assured Fiona was going to have a wonderful time with you and Pidge. Thank you again for accommodating my later schedule.”

About: I don’t rush trust or force interaction. I give them space and let them warm up naturally. I pay close attention to the small details that matter to them, like keeping their routine consistent, their litter box clean, and their environment calm and familiar. I treat every visit like it’s about the cat’s comfort first, not just completing tasks, so they stay relaxed and secure while you’re away. I work from home and have a flexible schedule, which gives me plenty of time and attention to truly focus on the pets I care for. I enjoy being around animals and find it rewarding to help them feel comfortable, safe, and relaxed while their owners are away. I’m dependable, responsive, and always make sure each pet gets the care and consistency they’re used to. I focus on safety, trust, and a calm environment where pets feel at home. I have a large house and a fully fenced backyard, giving dogs space to play and relax securely. I work from home, so pets are never left alone for long and get steady attention throughout the day.

About: I’m a mom and have a grown son which has left me with more time on my hands. Additionally, I am a teacher and have the summer off. I have taken care of dogs for over 25 years. I had a sweet yellow lab named Bella for 16 years and now I have a loving mini-goldendoodle, Lola, who is 5 years-old. I take my mini-goldendoodle, Lola, routinely for walks through our neighborhood, give potty breaks frequently, play fetch, and give belly rubs on demand. :) I am able to care for your sweet fur baby in the same way! I have a fenced-in yard with a large commons area including paths in a wooded area close by. I live in a quiet, dog-friendly neighborhood that is enjoyable to walk around in.
“Terri was amazingly accommodating! She helped us out so much by picking our dog up for us when we were in a bind and bringing him to her house very last minute, even though she hadn't watched Remi before! We were so impressed and grateful! Thanks again Terri!!”

“Jen was so amazing with our golden retriever, she was super accommodating and attentive to his individual needs. She was also very communicative and provided photos of his stay, which was great. Would absolutely recommend her to others!”

“Dena and her family did a great job with Biscuit. She was happy and content when I picked her up. It is clear that they provided her with loving care. We will definitely be back.”

About: Dogs have always been a huge part of my life, and caring for them is something I’m truly passionate about. Through my Rover bookings, I’ve had the opportunity to care for dogs with many different personalities, including shy, nervous, and anxious dogs who need extra patience and reassurance. I understand that every dog adjusts differently, so I always let them move at their own pace while building trust through kindness, consistency, and positive interactions. In addition to my Rover experience, I volunteer at my local Humane Society, where I’ve worked with dogs of different breeds, ages, and energy levels. I’m also the proud dog mom of a rescue puppy, whom I trained using positive reinforcement. That experience taught me the importance of patience, structure, and making every dog feel safe and confident. During walks, I’m happy to reinforce the training you’re already working on by encouraging good leash manners, basic commands, and polite walking habits using positive reinforcement. Whether your dog loves long adventures, playing fetch, or taking things slow, I’ll tailor every visit to their individual personality and needs. As a fellow dog mom, I know how stressful it can be to leave your pet in someone else’s care and how expensive pet care can become. That’s why I strive to keep my prices fair while providing dependable, personalized care that never compromises on quality. My goal is to make every dog feel loved, safe, and comfortable while giving owners complete peace of mind through regular updates, photos, and communication. When your pet is with me, they’ll be treated like part of my own family. As a college student, I have a flexible schedule and plenty of time to give your pet the attention they deserve. I’m available for overnight stays on weekends and weekday ; and walks any day! I look forward to providing dependable, loving care and making every visit a positive experience for your pet. Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my top priorities. I live in a spacious, climate controlled home. I also volunteer at my local Humane Society, where I’ve gained experience caring for dogs with different personalities, energy levels, and needs.

“Mark did a wonderful job of communicating to me about our dog stay. But most importantly, I could see he genuinely cared for my dog, Bella looked so happy! I could say that was a vacation she very much enjoyed and there is no doubt that she will want to go back!”

“Catherine is the best! She is literally SO sweet and caring, I cannot express it enough. I am so so so happy I found her. Bentley my fur baby is going through potty training class and a last minute family trip came up and she was very understanding with taking care of him although he’s not fully potty trained yet. I recommend Catherine 100% and she is definitely my go to from now on!!!”

“Marshmallow cannot wait to come back. He always has so much fun with Amanda and her family. It's great that I am given updates throughout the day about him. He loves playing in her yard!”

About: I’m a retired woman that has 30 years of pet care experience. I have raised two dogs and one cat. I have experience with chow chows, cats, and a west highland terrier. Since I am older now, I prefer smaller dogs that I can control while out on walks. My dog passed away 7 years ago and I miss having an animal around to take care of. My schedule is open for animal care since I am retired. My only commitments are my home duties such as cleaning, cooking, and weekly shopping. For boarding, I offer care in my suburban home. I live in a nice neighborhood with many trails and parks nearby. There is enough room in the house for dogs to move around and run if they need.
“Frankie had a great visit! We will use Chelsea again in the future. Felt very comfortable leaving my boy in her care, provided an update with photos which I appreciated , it was a short stay and everything went great 😀”

“I had to book last minute and Joe was very responsive and took great care of our dogs (all 3!). We got a lot of pictures and he even recorded walks, bathroom breaks, and made sure each dog had their own bed. Would definitely book again.”

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MI ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
