“Duane & Tammy are the best!! We have been using them for years, and I cannot believe it had taken me this long to write a review (just due to juggling many kids and work, not because there has even been a problem). They’re reliable, dependable, caring, welcoming and treat Angus so well. It’s very telling how great of care they provide Angus because he gets so excited when he approaches their house. He cannot wait to go over to stay with them. Angus has stayed for long weekends and now goes there for Doggy Day care. Thank you so much for taking such care of our pup!”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs of my own, as well as for friends and family for the past 15 years, including puppies and senior aged dogs. I’m currently in part-time online graduate school so I’ve got plenty of time to give your dog all the attention and love they need and want! I have a large backyard and a pet friendly neighborhood. I have one 17 pound, 9 year old dog who gets along with other dogs. I have two young children who also love dogs!

“Jen was so amazing with our golden retriever, she was super accommodating and attentive to his individual needs. She was also very communicative and provided photos of his stay, which was great. Would absolutely recommend her to others!”

“Great sitter! She took wonderful care of our pup, and we really appreciated her accommodating our last-minute request. Our dog loved his walks, and it was clear he was well cared for. We’d definitely book with her again!”

About: Hi there! I grew up with a dog by my side, and my family had a beloved pup until last year. My kids have been begging for another, but for now, we’ve decided to channel our love for animals into caring for yours! My kids and I are here to provide plenty of attention, belly rubs, and care while you’re away. Think of us as the fun aunt and uncle (and cousins!) for your pets—plenty of playtime, snuggles, and treats (with your permission, of course!). We can’t wait to meet your four-legged family members! Between my husband, who works from home full-time, and me being a stay-at-home mom, there’s always someone here to care for your pet. Whether it’s playtime, potty breaks, snuggles, or just having company throughout the day, your furry friend will never be alone for long. Our flexible schedules allow us to provide consistent care, making sure your pet feels safe, loved, and right at home. We have a spacious, fenced-in backyard, perfect for playtime and fresh air. Our neighborhood is also great for walks, offering plenty of safe and scenic routes. If your pet is crate-trained, I’m happy to accommodate that, but we also have the flexibility to let them roam freely in our home. I understand how important consistency is for pets, so whether they’re staying with us or I’m caring for them in your home, I’ll follow your routines and rules to make them feel as comfortable as possible.
“I wish I could leave 10 stars! Eleasha kept me in the loop daily with notes & pictures, which was super nice while I was away. When I picked my dog up he was all smiles and didn’t want to leave!! haha. Thanks again for taking such good care of Finn!”

“Amazing interaction with Caesar, super polite and friendly, we were able to walk through his home and beautiful privacy fenced backyard, he Sent the best pics and videos in the past 3 years sync starting to use rover. Super fast on drop off and picking up my dog. Best experience yet. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!”

About: I’m a retired woman that has 30 years of pet care experience. I have raised two dogs and one cat. I have experience with chow chows, cats, and a west highland terrier. Since I am older now, I prefer smaller dogs that I can control while out on walks. My dog passed away 7 years ago and I miss having an animal around to take care of. My schedule is open for animal care since I am retired. My only commitments are my home duties such as cleaning, cooking, and weekly shopping. For boarding, I offer care in my suburban home. I live in a nice neighborhood with many trails and parks nearby. There is enough room in the house for dogs to move around and run if they need.
“OUTSTANDING (AAA+++) Dog Sitter who followed all of our dog's dietary needs for 3 days, exercised our labrador every day in his HUGE fenced in back yard, and sent us multiple photos of dog throughout the day and even when sleeping!! C'mon now! Rohit was absolutely exceptional in every way. I would highly recommend Rohit to any concerned pet owner who wants to vacation worry free!”

About: I’ve taken care of pets ever since I was young. I’m a huge animal lover with a passion for caring for all fur babies big and small. I currently work part time with a wide range of availability. Since my schedule is flexible I am able to board/walk/care for animals morning through evening with a wide range in between I own the sweetest senior boy named Rocco who loves sharing space and making friends wherever we go. I’m leash reactive trained and have many trials and safe neighborhood spaces to walk near me.
“Debra was great! Her space for dogs is wonderful and she was communicative about plans and what we needed to bring. I really appreciated her being willing to have our puppy, Milo over!”

“Alia & Ian are great! I felt like they cared for my Coco as if she was their own. They kept me updated throughout the day and made pick up and drop off a breeze.”

About: Hi there! I'm Dana — Novi local, lifelong dog lover, and basically fluent in dog. With 9 years on Rover and a lifetime of dogs before that, I've built real experience across all sizes and temperaments. As a teenager I took on the daily responsibility of managing a severely diabetic dog — insulin schedules, diet, monitoring and all. That experience taught me that real pet care goes way beyond walks and cuddles. I've been looking for a way to make animal care an official part of my life ever since, and Rover has been the perfect fit. George (a havapoo with love to spare) and Frida (a chiweenie with very strong opinions) are my two little co-workers — they've made our home a very dog-friendly place, so your pup will feel right at home from the moment they arrive. My son Odie rounds out our crew, and yes, he is also a big fan of the dogs (all of them, not just ours). Whether you're a fellow Novi neighbor or just nearby, I'd love to meet your pup and show you what The Motown Pups team is all about. Send me a message and let's set up a meet and greet! Hope to see you soon! Dana, Odie, George, and Frida The Motown Pups team I do work full time with a hybrid schedule. Most of my working days are spent at home and on occasion head to office when needed. 🐾 Motown Pups — Where Every Pet is Family Trust and safety are everything to me — and I don't take that lightly. As a social worker with over 15 years of experience, I've spent my career showing up for others in their most vulnerable moments. That same attentiveness, calm, and genuine care is exactly what I bring to every pet in my home. I notice things. I advocate. I take it seriously. Your baby is safe with me — not because I say so, but because it's simply who I am. Your dog will have full access to our home in a warm, calm environment with consistent structure. Meals are served at regular times, outdoor time is supervised on leash with nearby parks and the Novi Dog Park just 6 minutes away, and evenings end with a family walk. Crating is never used unless it is already part of your dog's normal routine at home. My two resident dogs — Frida, our dignified 14 year old chiweenie, and George, our friendly 9 year old havapoo — make wonderful housemates. George will personally welcome your pup to the family 💙 Frida simply requests that her personal space be respected, which we always make sure of. Every dog in my home is treated like family. Because for the time they're here, they are. 🐾

About: I’m a mom and have a grown son which has left me with more time on my hands. Additionally, I am a teacher and have the summer off. I have taken care of dogs for over 25 years. I had a sweet yellow lab named Bella for 16 years and now I have a loving mini-goldendoodle, Lola, who is 5 years-old. I take my mini-goldendoodle, Lola, routinely for walks through our neighborhood, give potty breaks frequently, play fetch, and give belly rubs on demand. :) I am able to care for your sweet fur baby in the same way! I have a fenced-in yard with a large commons area including paths in a wooded area close by. I live in a quiet, dog-friendly neighborhood that is enjoyable to walk around in.
“Stephanie was great! Super friendly and timely. We really appreciated the pick up/drop off option. We can tell our pup had a great time and was well cared for. 100% will be going back the next time we need someone to watch Finn!”

About: Currently not a pet owner and missing the company of a furry friend! My family included dogs and cats growing up and I have years of experience being a nanny to children and pets (Great Danes, doodles, dachshunds, golden retriever, etc). I work part time hours as a remote mental health therapist at home so my schedule is flexible. I love to go for walks during the day. I live in a condo that is in a safe and walkable neighborhood. I keep my home clean and comfortable and have a reliable car.
“Couldn't have asked for a better sitter! Hannah took great care of my dog Hank, sent regular updates, and was super friendly. And her dog is super friendly and played with Hank all day long. Will definitely rebook whenever I'm in town.”

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MI ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
