“She did an amazing job with my dog Cassidy. She was truly an angel to take care of my sweet girl while we went to a concert! She was very communicative and sent me lots of pictures and videos. Will definitely recommend her and use her again next time we're in New Haven!”

“Erin hosted Winnie for doggie daycare and she had a blast! Winnie got to play with a bunch of other friendly dogs, go on walks, and get lots of attention! Erin was also super friendly, organized, and communicative! I look forward to her hosting Winnie again sometime soon 😊🐶”

“Molly gave my doodle Skye TLC during a 7-hour doggy day care stint. She was flexible and great at communicating with me; Molly went above and beyond in ensuring both I and Skye were happy. My dog clearly felt very comfortable with Molly even though Molly was 9-mos-old Skye's first sitter. Highly recommended. I will be using Molly in the near future. Cathy S”

About: I’ve been a dedicated dog owner for years and genuinely love caring for animals. I currently have a dog of my own, so I understand how important it is to leave your pet with someone trustworthy, attentive, and patient. I’m especially attentive to dogs’ comfort levels, routines, energy, and emotional needs. Whether your dog loves long walks, playtime, quiet companionship, or just consistency and calm energy, I adapt to what helps them feel safe and cared for. I have experience with: • Daily walks and exercise • Senior dog patience and slower-paced care • Administering routines and medications if needed • Dogs with anxiety or overstimulation • Maintaining structured feeding and potty schedules • Providing frequent updates and communication I work from home frequently and have a flexible schedule, which allows me to provide focused attention and supervision. I treat pets with the same care and respect I would want for my own dog. I have a flexible schedule and genuinely enjoy building pet care into my daily routine. I’m active, enjoy walks and outdoor time, and naturally structure my day around consistency and attentiveness. Because I have a dog of my own, caring for pets is already part of my everyday life, including walks, feeding routines, playtime, comfort, and making sure pets feel safe and settled. I’m home frequently and able to provide regular supervision, attention, potty breaks, and updates throughout the day. I believe pets do best when they feel safe, calm, and comfortable, so I try to maintain consistent routines and pay close attention to their individual personalities and needs. In my home, I provide a clean, quiet, and relaxed environment with regular potty breaks, walks, playtime, and supervision. I’m mindful of overstimulation and always make sure pets have space to rest and decompress if needed. In a client’s home, I respect the pet’s established routines as closely as possible — including feeding schedules, walk routines, medications, crate preferences, and house rules. I also understand how important communication is, so I provide regular updates and photos to help owners feel at ease while they’re away. Safety, attentiveness, and trust are extremely important to me, and I care for pets with the same level of responsibility and compassion I would want for my own dog.
“Harriet had a great visit with Monica today! I really appreciated the care she gave Harriet and her careful integration with the other pups she was boarding to ensure that all the dogs felt safe and loved.”

About: Hi! I’m a junior at UofM. I grew up with dogs and cats, and was a part time zoo curator in high school so I have the experience to take care of all sorts of pets. I love going outdoor with my pets and spend quality time with them. Looking forward to meeting you and your pets! I’m home everyday after 5pm and will be in town most weekends. Based on your pets’ preferences, I’m able to walk them in the mornings or evenings on a daily basis. I live on the first floor with beautiful natural areas nearby. I am able to take care of dogs who pull and high energy dogs.
“Kayden took our puppy for 9 hours with only an hours notice! We got frequent updates and several pictures of our puppy during her time at Daycare, which helped us know she was happy! Kayden knew just how to handle our anxious, 1st time visitor and make her feel at ease and keep her happy while we explored the town!”

About: I am lifelong dog owner experienced with health needs, medication routines and rescue trauma care. Patient, reliable and deeply commited to loving and attentive care. I work from home from 8am to 5pm, so I’m able to provide regular visits for your pet in the mornings, as well as in the afternoons and evenings. I will keep a close eye on everything in the environment to make sure your pet feels safe and happy during your absence. I’ll keep you updated and send photos regularly.
“Faith was great! She was quick with communication and made sure to send pictures throughout the day. Drop off and pick up was very smooth. Rosey has big smile on her face and seemed so happy when I picked her up. Will definitely be rebooking and would recommend Faith!”

“Paula took such wonderful care of our dog Mozzie. We cannot recommend her enough. We rarely leave him with anyone due to his separation anxiety issues but she was awesome helping him adjust and feel comfortable. We were thrilled to find such a caring and thoughtful pet sitter. Paula was also very helpful when we needed to pick Mozzie up at a different time than originally scheduled and she was kind enough to reassure us that he was adjusting well. She took him out for long walks and sent pictures early in his stay. We would have Paula watch our dog again in a heartbeat!”

About: I've done pet sitting/dog walking for over 4 years now. I work from home so I am available to them all day. I live in a spacious apartment with a huge nature scene surrounding it. I have a vast range of experience with animals. I myself have three animals (a rescue kitten, a working line German Shepherd, and an Australian Shepherd) none of whom will be present when I am taking care of your animals (either during the day or overnight). I am worked on in depth training with both of my dogs and can carry on any training/exercise routines you have set for your pets. I’m not a professional trainer, but I’ve worked on training with my own dogs for years and am happy to help continue the training and routines you’re already working on. I’m currently working from home, so I can be flexible and shift my schedule to what works best for your pet. Whether your dog needs three walks a day, some playtime and exercise, or simply someone to sit and snuggle with on the couch, I’m happy to give them the care and attention they need. I live in a puppy and kitten proofed apartment, with things like outlet covers and other safety measures in place. My building is surrounded by nature, with a large yard right out front and a lake nearby, making it a great environment for pets to get some fresh air and enjoy the outdoors.
“I can’t say enough good things about My! She watched my dog, Uncle Baxter, on less than 12 hours’ notice for two days of daycare, and she was absolutely wonderful. She was kind, sweet, and incredibly responsive every time I messaged her. Uncle Baxter was a little nervous the first day, but by the second day he was running right up to her, which told me everything I needed to know! 🥰 She took so much stress and anxiety off of me, and I felt completely comfortable knowing he was in good hands and going to have a good time. I would absolutely book with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone caring, reliable, and trustworthy to watch their pup! ❤️🐾”

“Jane is fantastic! She responds to my request quickly and is easily communicated. She is taking a good care of my puppy, play with him, walk him and send me pictures/video that greatly soothe my nerves (as this is my first time to trust someone to take care of my high-energy puppy).”

“My dog Finn loves going to Jennifer’s house for daycare. She is very attentive, plays with him in the yard, and takes him for a walk. I am grateful for the care she gives my dog and I highly recommend her.”

What a lovely person Mengdongxue is! She was very communicative and helpful arranging our Shih Tzu's first time with a sitter. She accommodated our many schedule changes and met us on-time and exactly where she said she would. Her place was safe and perfect for our little guy's first adventure on his own! Norman seemed to love his time with her (we received many lovely photo updates!) and our experience was very positive. We can't recommend Mengdongxue highly enough!! Thanks!

Harriet’s second home is with Deaunna and her family. We are so very lucky to have her love and care. Harriet is often high energy and Deaunna knows just what she needs to have fun, play, and relax at her house. We also love all the photos and updates we get while she is there so we can see how happy Harriet is.

Koda and Kenai had such a great time at daycare with Renee! From the moment I dropped them off, I felt completely comfortable knowing they were in caring and capable hands. Renee was incredibly attentive, communicative, and patient with both dogs, and it was obvious she genuinely cared about their comfort and happiness. She kept me updated throughout the day with messages and photos. Koda and Kenai came home happy, relaxed, and clearly well cared for. It’s not easy finding someone you fully trust with your dogs, but Renee made the entire experience stress free and positive. I truly appreciate the love and attention she gave them, and I would absolutely book with her again. Highly recommend Renee to anyone looking for a reliable, kind, and trustworthy sitter for their pets!

We would rate Ashley 10+++ stars if we could! She cared for our dog Cooper while we were at events on campus over the weekend. The schedule was different each day so we truly appreciated her flexibility. He usually has separation anxiety, so we were worried how this would go. From the start, he took to her and felt comfortable. At each drop off he happily ran to her and looked so happy! She was incredibly relaxed with him, attentive, friendly, and clearly loves dogs! Cooper loved their long walks each day. The updates and all the cute pictures throughout the day on the Rover app were great! We highly recommend Ashley to anyone looking for a trustworthy and loving place for their dog. We will definitely return to her in the future!

Alexandra was fantastic to work with. She was incredibly accommodating with our schedule, especially with our varying pickup times throughout the week. That flexibility made a huge difference for us. Our dog was going through some digestive issues during his stay, and Alexandra did an amazing job keeping us updated. She regularly communicated details about how much water he was drinking, whether he was eating, and even the quality of his potty breaks, which gave us a lot of peace of mind. It was clear our dog felt comfortable with her and had a good stay. We would definitely book with Alexandra again and highly recommend her!

Wonderful experience with Darcy and Daniel - very kind people who clearly love dogs, and they asked really thoughtful questions to get to know our dogs’ needs and personalities. They watched our two active Labradors, and the pups were so happy and well taken care of! Thank you Darcy and Daniel!

Madelin took exceptional care of our chow chow. She was attentive and genuinely caring, and it showed — our dog left feeling calm and at ease, with no sign of stress or anxiety. We’ll definitely be booking with her again when we’re back in Ann Arbor, and highly recommend her to any pet parent!

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MI ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
