Personalized care for your dog or cat - Ann Arbor

Highly-rated overnight sitters - Ann Arbor
“We had an absolutely great experience leaving our dog with Darcy and Dan for a full week. From the start, they were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and easy to communicate with, which immediately put us at ease. They sent us daily updates and photos, which we really appreciated, and it was clear our dog was happy and well cared for. Even with cold weather, they made the effort to play with her and keep her energy levels in check. When it got too cold outside, they were thoughtful and flexible, making adjustments to ensure she was still comfortable and getting the attention she needed. Their yard is a great size—good for a high-energy dog—and it was obvious they genuinely enjoy spending time with the dogs they care for. We couldn’t have asked for better sitters and would absolutely trust them again in the future. We highly recommend Darcy and Dan to anyone looking for reliable, caring, and attentive dog sitters!”

While she’s not super friendly with Katharyn but she’s comfortable in her presence and doesn’t pee around, or hiss at her. My male Tuxedo absolutely loves her! I don’t really see him acting so friendly with other cat sitters. I always ask Katharyn for her availability before travel because she’s so lovely and caring towards my pets!”

About: I grew up with a golden retriever named Hailey, and when I was younger I helped my mom foster care for various puppies and cats. I am available weekdays during the summer. I am a 6 ft broad shouldered guy, so I can handle any dogs you throw at me. I have always loved animals, especially dogs. I gaurentee your dog will get a ton of positive attention, and physical activity if need be! Hope to meet tons of cool dogs! Currently doing Rover work as a summer job while I go to school for engineering! Available most weekdays and some weekends. Have a dog of my own but my parents treat him like a grandchild so I have plenty of time for Rover. Have plenty of experience with high anxiety/elder dogs as well as dogs with special needs such as diabetes who need injections through my sister's dog as well as some neighbors! One such dog usually hates people who aren't his owner but I wore him down and now he loves me! She is always shocked at how he reacts when he sees me, usually he barks and snarls at most people/other dogs but he's all cuddles when I come by. My sister's dog is high anxiety and hates most men but of course not me because Im special. (jk just great with dogs!)

About: I’ve loved cats my whole life. I grew up with a family cat, cat sat for relatives and friends throughout the years, and have been a proud cat dad for the past three years. I understand that every cat has a unique personality, whether they’re social and playful or shy and reserved. I’m patient, attentive, comfortable administering medications when needed, and happy to follow your cat’s routine to help them feel safe and comfortable while you’re away. As a cat owner myself, I know how hard it can be to leave your pet behind when traveling. That’s why I make it a priority to provide dependable care, regular updates, and plenty of photos so you can feel confident that your cat is happy, healthy, and well cared for. I’ll treat your cat with the same attention and respect that I want for my own.
About: What sets me apart is how attentive and calm I am with pets. As a medical student, I’m trained to notice small changes in behavior, energy, or appetite and to take safety seriously while still keeping things fun and relaxed. I take time to get to know each pet’s personality and quirks, send thoughtful updates, and treat every animal like my own so you can feel totally at ease while you’re away! I’m especially great with senior pets and medically complex animals who need a little extra patience or reassurance. I’m reliable with routines, medications, and special instructions, and I always move at your pet’s pace. Currently working part time in (psychiatry) research and studying for our required national board exams. As such, I will have plenty of time for your fur family members! I prioritize safety, consistency, and making pets feel comfortable in their own environment. In a client’s home, I follow all routines closely, including feeding schedules, walks, medications, and house rules, so pets experience as little disruption as possible. I’m very attentive to doors, leashes, and surroundings during walks, and I always keep pets secure and supervised. I pay close attention to body language and behavior and adjust care if a pet seems anxious, tired, or overstimulated. I keep homes clean and respectful, send regular updates and photos, and communicate right away if anything seems off. My goal is for pets to feel safe, calm, and cared for and for owners to feel completely confident while they’re away.
About: I’ve cared for animals my entire life, including my own dogs and cats, and I’ve volunteered with senior animals in the past. Through that experience, I’ve learned how to adapt to different personalities, whether a pet is energetic, shy, anxious, independent, or needs extra patience. I’m comfortable with daily care such as feeding, administering oral medications, cleaning litter boxes, handling accidents, and following specific routines and instructions. I understand that every pet has different needs, and I take the time to make sure they feel comfortable, safe, and loved while their owner is away. As a University of Michigan student with a flexible summer schedule, I have plenty of availability for walks, drop-in visits, and house sitting. I’m happy to accommodate early mornings, evenings, weekends, and last-minute requests whenever possible. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I’ll always follow your instructions carefully and make sure your pet stays on their normal routine. I love sending lots of photos and updates, and I’m very attentive to any changes in behavior, appetite, or energy levels, so I can keep you informed if anything seems off.

“Sean was absolutely fantastic while caring for our cat and home during our vacation. His communication was phenomenal; he consistently kept us updated with messages and photos, and it was very clear how attentive and caring he was with Kitty. She is a very social, affectionate cat, and Sean spent time playing with her and giving her attention, which meant a lot to us. He also went above and beyond with household care by bringing in the mail, taking out the trash, and following all instructions carefully and thoughtfully. We felt completely comfortable knowing he was checking on both Kitty and the house each day. I would absolutely recommend Sean to anyone looking for a reliable, communicative, and genuinely caring sitter. We do not travel often, but whenever we do, Sean will absolutely be our first choice if he is available.”

“Lizz took wonderful care of our cat while we were gone. She was thorough, communicative, sent many adorable pictures, and generally just went above and beyond to make sure that everything went smoothly while we were gone! We would highly recommend her!”

About: I’ve grown up caring for all kinds of pets such as dogs, cats, birds, and guinea pigs, animal care has always been my passion. I’m comfortable and experienced with pets of all kinds! I also have experience caring for pets with Cerebellar Hypoplasia. I’m fully available anytime, and will work around your schedule! I try to be home as much as possible when I have a pet in my care, the longest I would be away is 2-3 hours. I have lots of walking room outdoors, not fenced. However my balcony is completely pet safe, fully fenced and covered, safe for all animals. I also have plenty of toys for any pet!
About: I’ve been a dedicated dog owner for years and genuinely love caring for animals. I currently have a dog of my own, so I understand how important it is to leave your pet with someone trustworthy, attentive, and patient. I’m especially attentive to dogs’ comfort levels, routines, energy, and emotional needs. Whether your dog loves long walks, playtime, quiet companionship, or just consistency and calm energy, I adapt to what helps them feel safe and cared for. I have experience with: • Daily walks and exercise • Senior dog patience and slower-paced care • Administering routines and medications if needed • Dogs with anxiety or overstimulation • Maintaining structured feeding and potty schedules • Providing frequent updates and communication I work from home frequently and have a flexible schedule, which allows me to provide focused attention and supervision. I treat pets with the same care and respect I would want for my own dog. I have a flexible schedule and genuinely enjoy building pet care into my daily routine. I’m active, enjoy walks and outdoor time, and naturally structure my day around consistency and attentiveness. Because I have a dog of my own, caring for pets is already part of my everyday life, including walks, feeding routines, playtime, comfort, and making sure pets feel safe and settled. I’m home frequently and able to provide regular supervision, attention, potty breaks, and updates throughout the day. I believe pets do best when they feel safe, calm, and comfortable, so I try to maintain consistent routines and pay close attention to their individual personalities and needs. In my home, I provide a clean, quiet, and relaxed environment with regular potty breaks, walks, playtime, and supervision. I’m mindful of overstimulation and always make sure pets have space to rest and decompress if needed. In a client’s home, I respect the pet’s established routines as closely as possible — including feeding schedules, walk routines, medications, crate preferences, and house rules. I also understand how important communication is, so I provide regular updates and photos to help owners feel at ease while they’re away. Safety, attentiveness, and trust are extremely important to me, and I care for pets with the same level of responsibility and compassion I would want for my own dog.
“Teresa is an awesome and trusted sitter for our dog. Our dog seems very happy and has been in great spirits after both her stays. Teresa sends pictures and provides feedback as to how the day/stay is going. Looking forward for our dog Roxy"s next visit with Teresa. :)”

“Thank you for being so kind and taking care of Cooper. From allowing me to with ahead of time and providing me picture updates as this was my first time leaving him with someone else other than daycare or family.”

“We would rate Ashley 10+++ stars if we could! She cared for our dog Cooper while we were at events on campus over the weekend. The schedule was different each day so we truly appreciated her flexibility. He usually has separation anxiety, so we were worried how this would go. From the start, he took to her and felt comfortable. At each drop off he happily ran to her and looked so happy! She was incredibly relaxed with him, attentive, friendly, and clearly loves dogs! Cooper loved their long walks each day. The updates and all the cute pictures throughout the day on the Rover app were great! We highly recommend Ashley to anyone looking for a trustworthy and loving place for their dog. We will definitely return to her in the future!”

“Shannon and her family are fantastic! Sasha had a busy and fun-filled day, and came home the best kind of tuckered out. Sasha is counting days til her next stay. Thank you!!”

“Paula took such wonderful care of our dog Mozzie. We cannot recommend her enough. We rarely leave him with anyone due to his separation anxiety issues but she was awesome helping him adjust and feel comfortable. We were thrilled to find such a caring and thoughtful pet sitter. Paula was also very helpful when we needed to pick Mozzie up at a different time than originally scheduled and she was kind enough to reassure us that he was adjusting well. She took him out for long walks and sent pictures early in his stay. We would have Paula watch our dog again in a heartbeat!”

I had 2 small/medium dogs growing up, where I played a very active role in caring for them. I have experience fostering a kitten (4-9 months) and cat sitting for friends on weekends. I'm comfortable reading an animal's body language, adhering to whatever feeding/bathroom schedule your pet is used to, and actively playing both indoors and outdoors (dogs + outdoor cats). I can't wait to meet you and your furry friend! ᵔ ᵕ ᵔ I am taking one asynchronous class this summer, so my schedule is quite flexible! I will ensure my calendar reflects days when I will be in town and able to commit my time to your pet! I am able to check on your friend multiple times per day if needed. I am very patient when meeting new animals and I have experience meeting and caring for shy animals. I have no doubt that I will be able to build trust with your animal in order to care for them properly! I am able to put animals in crates and carriers as needed. As a foster parent, I am experienced in noticing signs of distress, discomfort, and medical emergency and can respond promptly and appropriately. I take care in ensuring that your home is left the way I found it (or better!), so I would be excited to take the time to clean up any "accidents" and put toys away before I leave your home!
“Our dog was supper happy and calm when we got home after Tori walked him and spent time with him. I can see he had a great time with her! She was also easy to communicate with. I would request her services again in the future, and recommend her to other dog owners.”

“Ashley has been amazing with Dudley. Her promptness and thorough report makes me feel so at ease on the days she walks him. He’s always so happy to see her and she is very sweet with him.”

About: I have been a pet sitter since I was a kid. I am a medical student at UMich looking for an excuse to walk more this spring, and love animals. I have had dogs and cats my whole life and used to work at a horse barn, so my experience is varied! I am not currently working so my schedule is very flexible! Happy to do morning, afternoon, or evening walks or check ins. Whatever you might need! Happy to come to your house to check on your pets, provide walks, or feed. I currently have a cat of my own who is spoiled with daily playtime :)
About: I've cared for pets for my neighbors, family, and customers since I was 15 years old. Mainly in NYC, so I know how to keep pets safe in a fast-paced environment with other animals around. I always make sure my pets are not just given the basics (food + walks) but also true companionship! I have plenty of time mornings, afternoons, or evenings to care for your loved pets! My post-grad schedule is flexible and can suit your needs. I am the daughter of a fireman who was in the newspaper for saving cats out of fires, and he taught me a lot about protecting animals and how to keep them calm in high-stress situations (although I don't anticipate any of that happening!).

About: Hi! I have been fostering dogs for shelters and rescues over the past 5 years. I previously lived in NYC, where I fostered 7 dogs through local shelters and rescue organizations. After relocating to Ann Arbor, I became a foster with Friends for Animals of Metro Detroit (FAMD). All of my foster dogs have successfully found loving forever homes. I have experience caring for adult dogs of all sizes and personalities. Spending time with dogs has been one of the most rewarding experiences for me, and I truly enjoy providing them with a safe and loving environment. I am currently working as a part-time piano teacher, which gives me a flexible schedule. I am available on most Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and weekends I live in a quiet apartment with a calm environment. The community is very dog-friendly and has plenty of green space for walks and outdoor time. I believe every dog has different needs and personalities, so I would love to communicate with you as much as possible to understand your dog’s routine, preferences, and comfort level. I always try to follow their normal schedule as closely as possible to help them feel safe and relaxed. I am also happy to travel to your home and care for your furry friend there if that would be the best and most comfortable option for them.
