“Monica and Razvan were great host and we will definitely use them again if they are available! They sent us pictures of Ruby every day and kept us updated throughout the stay. We felt comfortable that they had a fenced in yard for play time and a dedicated space for Ruby when it was nap time.”

“Josiah was great and offered last-minute services when my original plans fell through for zazu. Their family took great care of my boy, sent regular pictures, and he came home happy and healthy!”

“Madeline was so well taken care of! Heather and her family definitely gave my pup a run for her money and all the love she love to give was received as well, she was waiting for me, freshly bathed and happy will definitely be a repeat customers!”
“David was amazing! He did everything to make my senior pup Lobo feel right at home, and provided great updates and photos during his stay that allowed me a worry free trip abroad. Would definitely recommend him and book for my future trips!”

“Lauren and Chris always go above and beyond for my dog. They are very kind and thoughtful and take the extra step to make her feel special when she stays with them. They are my #1 sitters, highly recommend.”

“Thank you Karen for taking such great care of Rufus. He seemed like he had a great vacation weekend with you and we really do appreciate it! We hope Rufus was able to entertain you as well! We would be happy to leave him with you again in the future, should the need arise.”

“Zachary was fantastic hosting Spooky for an extended stay. He was very patient with Spooky building up his confidence in his temporary home and sent lots of photos and updates about how he was doing. I can tell from the photos Spooky became quite comfortable with Zachary and in his house. I would definitely request Zachary watch Spooky again.”

“Deana was great with Poppy! She is a dog lover and I knew Poppy was in the best hands while we were away for a long weekend. I could tell Poppy was right at home and I would definitely rebook in the future. I highly recommend!”

“Daniel was the best!! He is very kind and provided much activity for my lab. He sent photos and updates. He was flexible with my drop off and pick up schedule. I would highly recommend Daniel and would re-book again when I visit the area.”
“Jennifer was the first time I used a dog sitter that was not family. I reached out to her because she seemed to have a lot of experience and many great reviews, there were no other animals in the home, she has a fenced in back yard, plus she was willing to watch my two 7 month old Chihuahua puppies (not everyone will take on puppies). From the meet and greet I felt at ease. Her home is in a very nice neighborhood, a great place to walk dogs. She was clearly comfortable with my dogs, and the experience with watching dogs was clearly shown in the way she uses gates in her home to keep the dogs safely away from the stairs. The bonus was she has two very nice young boys who also showed how kind and calm they could be with my puppies, but also fun playmates! Once I dropped my puppies off communication was always clear, with several updates and pictures each day. I honestly never worried about my dogs in Jennifer's care, and that is truly the best possible thing I can say about a dog sitter. I would 100% recommend her services to anyone who asked, and I would be happy to bring my dogs back to stay with her family again.”

“Katie kept us up to date on how Pumpkin was doing. Dog was relaxed and happy upon her return home and in all the pictures sent. Communication was great. We have another booking later this summer.”

“Our experience with Katie and Dave was absolutely fantastic. They were extremely easy going, kind, and very loving with our pup. Also quite communicative and responsive. I wholeheartedly recommend them!”

“Aylin was flexible, attentive, and responsive— it was great working with her to watch my big pup Athena. Her location is great and it was awesome that she could tag team watching my pup with her partner. I really appreciated the peace of mind on my long weekend trip.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Ann Arbor
Elka never boarded with a family before... and she clearly LOVED Jenn and the family! I couldn't have found anyone that was better for her to be with... the boys played with her, she hung out with the family - and seemed to be so much at home. When I brought her home yesterday - she started to go into different rooms looking for something.. I really think she was looking for the boys to play with. The daily pictures with Elka hanging with and playing with the family gave so much peace of mind. I certainly recommend them! Roz

Lyvia did such an amazing job boarding our dog, Gracie, while we were on our vacation! She was communicative, responsible, and loving. Gracie felt like she had a vacation too. I’m so thrilled to have found a trusted dog sitter nearby, and Gracie already can’t wait to stay with Lyvia again!

Natiely is a loving and compassionate person. She was incredibly conscientious and caring with my senior dog, Toby. She closely monitored his adjustment and responded appropriately, often putting techniques she had learned into practice to help Toby feel more comfortable and build trust with her. Her attentiveness and patience allowed Toby to relax and feel at ease much more quickly than usual, which, in turn, gave me tremendous peace of mind. I truly appreciated the care and understanding she showed toward him.

Lauren, Tyler, and their two kids watched Dottie for a week. This being my first time leaving Dottie with people that aren’t family, I was pretty nervous. Lauren and Tyler sent pictures and videos daily to ease my mind and she had a great time. During her stay, Dottie had an emergency and Lauren and Tyler took her to the vet, caring for her like she was their own. I was and am exceedingly grateful.

I cannot recommend Shannon highly enough. My rescue dog is usually reluctant to play with other dogs, but Shannon knows how to introduce animals and make sure they are safe and secure. She’s extremely knowledgable about animal behavior and training— I’ve had dogs for 40 years and had several dog classes, but I learned much that I didn’t know. Also, my dog has a restricted diet and meds and Shannon was very conscientious. You can’t go wrong with boarding your dog with her.
Melissa was a great sitter for our dog Dusty. She sent pictures and kept us updated. She was flexible when we ended up being later than expected for pick-up. I'm sure Dusty had a great time and we felt comfortable leaving her in good hands. I would definitely call on her services again if and when the time comes.

This was our first time using Rover for our 13 year-old Beagle mix, Vince. I went away for five days, so I was a little nervous about how Vince would do. Aylin too excellent care of him and sent photos almost everyday so I could see how Vince was settling in. She was very responsive and caring about Vince's little quirks and needs. She was also flexible when my homebound flight arrived early and I asked to change the pre-arranged pick-up time at the last minute All in all, this was a five-star experience and I would confidently leave Vince with Aylin again--in fact, I plan to.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MI ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
