“Lauren & Cris were very kind and sweet. They agreed to booking, even within a short time frame. They were very welcoming and kept me informed with many pictures of coco. Coco seemed to love her time with them as she had plenty of time and fun playing outside in their fenced in backyard. I would definitely book with them again.”

“Monica did such a wonderful job with my dog! She is very fast to respond and sent updates often. My dog clearly had so much fun and I didn't have to worry at all. Would definitely recommend.”

“Kori was incredible! She took care of our 9 month old lab puppy for 9 days while we were out of the country with so much love and care. She knows dogs so well and our pup was so happy when she returned. Would absolutely rebook with Kori!”

“Karen is the first dog sitter I left my puppy with and it went great! She sent updates, pictures, and my dog was so happy! Thank you, Karen for a great first experience! We will be in touch next time Violet visits Ann Arbor with me 💜”

“Makena was great! We left our two very opposite dogs with her (10 month old active puppy and 12 year old) and both came back very happy. She was accommodating with drop offs and was always quick to respond. Would 100% have her watch our dogs again.”
“Heather did a great job looking after our 2 pets for a whole week!! THANK YOU, Heather!! Everything was a breeze and the doggoes came home relaxed and content. They had a good stay.”

“Jennifer was a fantastic pet sitter! She send daily updates on how Maple was doing like sleeping on her lap ❤️, it was reassuring to read how much she and her family cared. Thanks so much for your kindness 😊”

“Laura and Manuel were perfectly communicative and great with my anxious dog who is wary of new people. She had fun and warmed up quickly to their own dogs!”

“As always, Catherine did a great job. The dogs had a great time and were well cared for. Both dogs were excited to return to Catherine's house and not at all eager to leave!”

“Erin was so amazing and offered to watch my 5 month old Labrador Retriever puppy very last minute. Dallas had an amazing time and met some amazing doggie friends. Would most definitely recommend for your pup!”

“Dylan took great care of Zuzu for an extended stay with him and his family. He sent regular pics and videos and went out of his way to exercise her in the basement during a heat wave that made outdoor exercise difficult. Thanks Dylan!!!”

“Jennifer was the first time I used a dog sitter that was not family. I reached out to her because she seemed to have a lot of experience and many great reviews, there were no other animals in the home, she has a fenced in back yard, plus she was willing to watch my two 7 month old Chihuahua puppies (not everyone will take on puppies). From the meet and greet I felt at ease. Her home is in a very nice neighborhood, a great place to walk dogs. She was clearly comfortable with my dogs, and the experience with watching dogs was clearly shown in the way she uses gates in her home to keep the dogs safely away from the stairs. The bonus was she has two very nice young boys who also showed how kind and calm they could be with my puppies, but also fun playmates! Once I dropped my puppies off communication was always clear, with several updates and pictures each day. I honestly never worried about my dogs in Jennifer's care, and that is truly the best possible thing I can say about a dog sitter. I would 100% recommend her services to anyone who asked, and I would be happy to bring my dogs back to stay with her family again.”

About: I've done pet sitting/dog walking for over 4 years now. I work from home so I am available to them all day. I live in a spacious apartment with a huge nature scene surrounding it. I have a vast range of experience with animals. I myself have three animals (a rescue kitten, a working line German Shepherd, and an Australian Shepherd) none of whom will be present when I am taking care of your animals (either during the day or overnight). I am worked on in depth training with both of my dogs and can carry on any training/exercise routines you have set for your pets. I’m not a professional trainer, but I’ve worked on training with my own dogs for years and am happy to help continue the training and routines you’re already working on. I’m currently working from home, so I can be flexible and shift my schedule to what works best for your pet. Whether your dog needs three walks a day, some playtime and exercise, or simply someone to sit and snuggle with on the couch, I’m happy to give them the care and attention they need. I live in a puppy and kitten proofed apartment, with things like outlet covers and other safety measures in place. My building is surrounded by nature, with a large yard right out front and a lake nearby, making it a great environment for pets to get some fresh air and enjoy the outdoors.
“Anne was excellent with our corgi boy. She gave us morning and evening updates with pictures and videos. Our corgi can be quite high energy and she was great taking him on long walks and playing with all his toys. He seemed so happy and well taken care of. We will definitely book with Anne again!”

“Dolly absolutely loved her stay with Katie and Travis! Our girl warmed up to them right away and I appreciate all the text updates I was being sent to ease my mind. Would absolutely love to use their services again in the future. Thanks for taking such good care of our baby.”

“Deana was great with Poppy! She is a dog lover and I knew Poppy was in the best hands while we were away for a long weekend. I could tell Poppy was right at home and I would definitely rebook in the future. I highly recommend!”

“Zachary was great for the whole experience! It was the first time boarding our new dog, and Zachary came out to meet us and Pepper, answered questions we had, and Pepper seems like he had a great time! Zachary sent pics during our trip, and was fast and easy to communicate with, both leading up to the boarding dates and while we were away. Highly recommend!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Ann Arbor
Natiely is a loving and compassionate person. She was incredibly conscientious and caring with my senior dog, Toby. She closely monitored his adjustment and responded appropriately, often putting techniques she had learned into practice to help Toby feel more comfortable and build trust with her. Her attentiveness and patience allowed Toby to relax and feel at ease much more quickly than usual, which, in turn, gave me tremendous peace of mind. I truly appreciated the care and understanding she showed toward him.

Lauren, Tyler, and their two kids watched Dottie for a week. This being my first time leaving Dottie with people that aren’t family, I was pretty nervous. Lauren and Tyler sent pictures and videos daily to ease my mind and she had a great time. During her stay, Dottie had an emergency and Lauren and Tyler took her to the vet, caring for her like she was their own. I was and am exceedingly grateful.

I cannot recommend Shannon highly enough. My rescue dog is usually reluctant to play with other dogs, but Shannon knows how to introduce animals and make sure they are safe and secure. She’s extremely knowledgable about animal behavior and training— I’ve had dogs for 40 years and had several dog classes, but I learned much that I didn’t know. Also, my dog has a restricted diet and meds and Shannon was very conscientious. You can’t go wrong with boarding your dog with her.
Teresa is the BEST dogsitter I have ever had. My dog has never seemed happier with a dogsitter than she does with Teresa. She is attentive, has plenty of toys to spoil your pup, and is very timely in her communications. 100% recommend for any owner that wants to give their pup a little vacation when they are away.

Melissa was a great sitter for our dog Dusty. She sent pictures and kept us updated. She was flexible when we ended up being later than expected for pick-up. I'm sure Dusty had a great time and we felt comfortable leaving her in good hands. I would definitely call on her services again if and when the time comes.

Deunna took excellent care of our sweet elderly golden retriever. Our dog is used to being in a family home and needed to be given medicine and treated gently due to arthritis and skin issues. She took the time to understand the special care that our dog needed. I would definitely bring our dog back to Deunna's house.

This was our first time using Rover for our 13 year-old Beagle mix, Vince. I went away for five days, so I was a little nervous about how Vince would do. Aylin too excellent care of him and sent photos almost everyday so I could see how Vince was settling in. She was very responsive and caring about Vince's little quirks and needs. She was also flexible when my homebound flight arrived early and I asked to change the pre-arranged pick-up time at the last minute All in all, this was a five-star experience and I would confidently leave Vince with Aylin again--in fact, I plan to.

My dogs stayed with Joseph over the holiday weekend. We got lots of updates during their stay. My one dog has a hard time with fireworks. He made sure she was comfortable and got all the loves and snuggles. My dogs were well loved and cared for during their stay. I would recommend Joseph and would have him watch our dogs again. 😊

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MI ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
