About: I absolutely adore all animals, especially dogs! I have been caring for and house sitting dogs of all breeds since I was 15 years old. Throughout my experience, I have cared for both puppies and senior dogs making sure to adapt to each dog's unique personality and needs. I have grown up and lived with dogs my entire life, so I understand the importance of providing them with love, attention, and exercise. I am highly attentive, reliable, and committed to satisfying both the pet’s and owner’s needs. I am currently a student; however, I have a very flexible schedule, and can tailor my schedule towards the needs of my clients. I can work weekends. I am a focused and hard worker and will make sure your pet is cared for to the best of my ability. I love all animals and want to make sure that their needs are met through exercise, love, and care.

Micheal did a great job being patient and accommodating with my at times stubborn, senior foster dog! He showed my foster pup lots of care and helped me balance work and my foster pup with his help. Communication was good, for example one day I changed my dog’s food so I was worried how he would do that day, and Michael provided updates quickly. Thank you Michael!

About: I hit the jackpot when I was born into a family of dog people! With personal experience in my home and at a pet-adoption agency where I volunteered, there has not been a single dog I did not love: the timid, high-energy, skittish, adventurous or couch potato. I have been a pet caretaker all my life, but I gained a new appreciation for senior care once my 13-year-old Weimaraner got sick and vet visits became routine and his food became completely homemade. I am a student at U of M taking a 3 day/week summer course, so I have plenty of time to dedicate to furry friends. I have house-sat for pet parents (2 terriers, one senior and one puppy) numerous times. I also am very familiar with signs of distress, having 2 senior dogs myself. Whether your dog needs regular walks, play time, eating on a strict schedule, or medication at a specific time, I am happy to accommodate their routine! I have so much love for any and all dogs who come my way and treat others as if they were my own.

About: I am returning to Rover after several years of a hiatus because nothing makes me happier than animals. There has been a dog in my family since I was 12. My parents call me the "dog whisperer" because I was always the one who took the time to train our dogs. My brother and his wife, before I came to college, would always trust me with their dogs and cats when they went out of town. I am so lucky to have foster experience from a 1yo chocolate lab, Hershey Kiss as she recovered from kennel cough. Baby labs can be a handful, but I am proud of the level of attention, care, and love I was able to provide to an animal that needed it. I also have extensive rat ownership experience -- for 5 years, I researched, trained, and absolutely fell in love with rats. Currently, I live in a home with two dogs and a cat and always provide care for them when their parents aren't home (and sometimes when they are!) I excel in playing and wrestling and giving your little loves their much- needed exercise, and I am even better at giving them pets and kisses! I hope you give me a chance to love on your furbaby! I am a full time student at the University of Michigan, and I work part time in the service industry. My schedule is largely forgiving, but my main priority is communication -- if I am unable to provide a service, it's important to me that I let that known so you can get your family taken care of appropriately. Unfortunately, I am unable to accommodate boarding at this time. Contact me for drop ins, walks, or house sitting! I am a full time student, but as it's my last semester I am enrolled in a limited amount of classes -- & nothing starts before 11am. I also work part time in the service industry, 2-3 shifts a week. I am adept at managing my schedule to accommodate everything I need to, but if you have doubts I'm happy to discuss any concerns! Every home is different in their needs, and I understand that some bookings require more or less attention than others. You know the best way to care for your dogs, my job is to follow all care instructions and to communicate any questions and concerns. I like to send frequent updates and pictures whenever I'm with your pet, and ask any questions I may have regarding their care.

About: I’ve cared for dogs of all sizes and energy levels, from playful puppies to calm senior dogs. I’m patient, attentive, and very detail-oriented, which means I follow feeding schedules, walking routines, and care instructions exactly as requested. I also regularly care for my own golden retriever, handling daily walks, feeding, playtime, and routine care. This has given me hands-on experience with an active, friendly breed that needs consistent exercise and attention. I’m especially comfortable with daily walks, exercise, and providing calm companionship. I pay close attention to a dog’s body language and behavior, making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and happy while in my care. I understand that every dog is different and I take the time to adjust to their personality and needs. As a full-time University of Michigan student, I’m highly organized, reliable, and communicative. I show up on time, send regular updates, and treat every dog as if they were my own. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and well-being are always my top priorities. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine. During the week, I’m available before and after classes for walks, drop-ins, and check-ins, and I keep my schedule organized to ensure I can give each pet reliable, unrushed care. I am completely free on weekends, which allows me to be very flexible with timing for longer walks, multiple visits, or extended care. I prioritize consistency and clear communication, so pet owners always know when to expect updates and care. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I make sure to respect their space and follow all instructions exactly as provided. I focus on keeping pets safe, comfortable, and stress-free by maintaining their normal routines, including feeding, walks, playtime, and rest. I’m attentive to safety at all times—making sure leashes are secure, doors and gates are closed, and pets are supervised during walks and visits. I pay close attention to behavior and energy levels, especially in new environments, and adjust care as needed. I also prioritize clear communication and trust. I provide regular updates and photos, and I always leave a client’s home clean, secure, and just as I found it.

About: Hi! I'm Ava, a University of Michigan student who has grown up around animals and has several years of experience pet sitting for friends, neighbors, and family. I've cared for dogs of all sizes and personalities, as well as cats and other household pets, providing feeding, walks, playtime, medication when needed, and lots of attention while owners are away. In addition to pet sitting, I have extensive babysitting experience and have worked for several years in customer service, which has strengthened my responsibility, communication, and ability to stay calm in any situation. I'm dependable, organized, and genuinely love spending time with animals. I know every pet has a unique personality, and I make it a priority to help them feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while you're away. I'll always treat your pets like they're my own and keep you updated with plenty of photos and messages! I have a flexible schedule and am available throughout the week for walks, drop-in visits, house sitting, and overnight care. I enjoy staying active, so daily walks and playtime are something I look forward to. I'll always make sure your pet gets the attention, exercise, and companionship they deserve while you're away! I truly love spending time with animals, and my goal is to make your pet feel comfortable, loved, and safe while you're away. I'll stick to their normal routine as closely as possible, give them plenty of attention and exercise, and make sure they get lots of love. I know trusting someone with your pet is a big deal, so I'll always communicate with you, send updates and photos, and care for your pet the same way I would my own.

About: I have owned several dogs and cats and have been responsible for caring for them for the past 10 years. I grew up on a farm, so I have experience with pigs, sheep, goats, and some horses. I also watch dogs and cats for family friends, and I love all animals! I have a hybrid work schedule and typically from home 3 days a week. I am happy to care for animals in the mornings and afternoons when I go into the office (typically 9am-4pm) and throughout the day when I work from home. I walk my dogs with leashes, and they are crate trained for the night. However, I also have experience with dogs who are trained with shock/recall collars and dogs who don’t use crates. I am comfortable with litter boxes for cats, and have no problems keeping them clean.

Five stars, without hesitation. Shashank has been a wonderful find for our family. He walks our dog Leon regularly, and Leon gets genuinely excited every time he sees him, which tells you everything you need to know. What really cemented our trust happened when I was unexpectedly told during a routine appointment that I needed to deliver my baby the same day. With no time to make arrangements, Shashank stepped up immediately, checking on Leon, feeding, exercising him, and taking him in to board as soon as he could with little notice. That kind of reliability in an emergency is rare. What sets Shashank apart is his genuine knowledge of canine behavior. Leon was understandably stressed by all the changes, and Shashank recognized it, communicated clearly with us, and worked patiently with him until he was in a much better place. Leon came home from boarding with Shashank calm and fulfilled. We plan on continuing to work with Shashank as Leon adjusts to life with a new baby, so the transition continues to go smoothly. Communicative, reliable, kind, and deeply knowledgeable about dogs. If you're looking for someone who will truly care for your beloved pet, Shashank is your person.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
