“Melissa was such a huge help - she responded to a last minute booking and walked and fed Lena for me while I was stuck at work. I greatly appreciated all of the pictures and would definitely book with her again!”

“Moriah was so patient with Moose! From the sounds of it, both of my boys love her already. Moose definitely has some interesting quirks that can be a little unsettling until you get to know him. Moriah was so kind when she told me what happened and I am super grateful for her understanding and communication.”

About: I have taken care of animals for as long as I can remember! Growing up on a farm I am very comfortable with animals of all shapes and sizes. I grew up with a big and energetic yellow lab so trust me I know how to handle the zoomies! Whether I am just walking your dog, visiting with you cat, or just checking in to feed or let out, I will make sure they are loved and happy. I will send you updates and pictures of your pet/pets as frequently as you’d like! I'm currently a student with online classes so my schedule is extremely flexible. I am able to stop by your home as often as you need and can take your pet on walks frequently through the day as well. I have a backyard and there are two kittens living in the house. A very friendly and safe environment and I can also crate your dog if you want!
“Cassidy was so great with my anxious high energy dog! Needed a dog walker last minute and she was able to accommodate. Cassidy knew how to interact with Pepper to make her feel comfortable quickly. Have rebooked and will be using regularly moving forward.”
About: I absolutely adore all animals, especially dogs! I have been caring for and house sitting dogs of all breeds since I was 15 years old. Throughout my experience, I have cared for both puppies and senior dogs making sure to adapt to each dog's unique personality and needs. I have grown up and lived with dogs my entire life, so I understand the importance of providing them with love, attention, and exercise. I am highly attentive, reliable, and committed to satisfying both the pet’s and owner’s needs. I am currently a student; however, I have a very flexible schedule, and can tailor my schedule towards the needs of my clients. I can work weekends. I am a focused and hard worker and will make sure your pet is cared for to the best of my ability. I love all animals and want to make sure that their needs are met through exercise, love, and care.
“Our dog was supper happy and calm when we got home after Tori walked him and spent time with him. I can see he had a great time with her! She was also easy to communicate with. I would request her services again in the future, and recommend her to other dog owners.”

“Excellent dog walker! Mendongexue came twice a day. She was consistently on time, very sweet with Rosie, and took her on unhurried walks. Lovely and professional.”

I had 2 small/medium dogs growing up, where I played a very active role in caring for them. I have experience fostering a kitten (4-9 months) and cat sitting for friends on weekends. I'm comfortable reading an animal's body language, adhering to whatever feeding/bathroom schedule your pet is used to, and actively playing both indoors and outdoors (dogs + outdoor cats). I can't wait to meet you and your furry friend! ᵔ ᵕ ᵔ I am taking one asynchronous class this summer, so my schedule is quite flexible! I will ensure my calendar reflects days when I will be in town and able to commit my time to your pet! I am able to check on your friend multiple times per day if needed. I am very patient when meeting new animals and I have experience meeting and caring for shy animals. I have no doubt that I will be able to build trust with your animal in order to care for them properly! I am able to put animals in crates and carriers as needed. As a foster parent, I am experienced in noticing signs of distress, discomfort, and medical emergency and can respond promptly and appropriately. I take care in ensuring that your home is left the way I found it (or better!), so I would be excited to take the time to clean up any "accidents" and put toys away before I leave your home!
“Ashley has been amazing with Dudley. Her promptness and thorough report makes me feel so at ease on the days she walks him. He’s always so happy to see her and she is very sweet with him.”

About: I have been a pet sitter since I was a kid. I am a medical student at UMich looking for an excuse to walk more this spring, and love animals. I have had dogs and cats my whole life and used to work at a horse barn, so my experience is varied! I am not currently working so my schedule is very flexible! Happy to do morning, afternoon, or evening walks or check ins. Whatever you might need! Happy to come to your house to check on your pets, provide walks, or feed. I currently have a cat of my own who is spoiled with daily playtime :)
“Stephanie is absolutely fantastic! She is 100% reliable and went above and beyond what she was hired to do. I cannot recommend her highly enough and will hire her again when needed!! if I could give her 10 stars, I would.”

“Elayna was amazing! Very clearly a dog person and made my sometimes nervous pup feel very comfortable. She was very communicative and took lots of photos which I loved getting to see while I was at work!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Ann Arbor
V went beyond the call of duty with Adam. She returned for a second visit to check to make sure he wasn't ill. She took the dirty bedding and put in the wash. She sat with him patiently and gave him lots of cuddles. She indicated he was fine Thank you for giving Adam such wonderful care I appreciate your kindness and compassion.
Micheal did a great job being patient and accommodating with my at times stubborn, senior foster dog! He showed my foster pup lots of care and helped me balance work and my foster pup with his help. Communication was good, for example one day I changed my dog’s food so I was worried how he would do that day, and Michael provided updates quickly. Thank you Michael!

Five stars, without hesitation. Shashank has been a wonderful find for our family. He walks our dog Leon regularly, and Leon gets genuinely excited every time he sees him, which tells you everything you need to know. What really cemented our trust happened when I was unexpectedly told during a routine appointment that I needed to deliver my baby the same day. With no time to make arrangements, Shashank stepped up immediately, checking on Leon, feeding, exercising him, and taking him in to board as soon as he could with little notice. That kind of reliability in an emergency is rare. What sets Shashank apart is his genuine knowledge of canine behavior. Leon was understandably stressed by all the changes, and Shashank recognized it, communicated clearly with us, and worked patiently with him until he was in a much better place. Leon came home from boarding with Shashank calm and fulfilled. We plan on continuing to work with Shashank as Leon adjusts to life with a new baby, so the transition continues to go smoothly. Communicative, reliable, kind, and deeply knowledgeable about dogs. If you're looking for someone who will truly care for your beloved pet, Shashank is your person.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
