“Melissa was great! She always arrived on time and gave us multiple updates during her walk and provided plenty of photos. Our pup was well taken care of. We highly recommend Melissa!!”

About: I’ve had pets my entire life and have been actively caring for them from a young age. I grew up with four dogs and over ten cats, and when my parents got kittens for me in third grade, I learned the responsibility of daily feeding, litter care, grooming, and monitoring their health — along with how to truly bond with and care for animals. In sixth grade, I helped raise and train a puppy of my own, which gave me hands-on experience with leash training, house training, basic commands, and understanding puppy behavior. Over the years, I’ve cared for both large and small dogs, as well as pets of all ages — from energetic puppies and kittens to senior animals who require extra patience and gentle attention. I also helped care for my senior cat who had been with me my whole life, which taught me a great deal about the special needs of aging pets. In addition, I’ve walked dogs and provided pet sitting for friends and families, always keeping routines consistent and stress-free. I have experience walking reactive dogs and have learned how to calmly de-escalate situations, as well as how to approach and build trust with more timid animals. I've learned the importance of learning and adapting to each pet's unique needs. I’m comfortable handling a wide range of temperaments and energy levels, and I always prioritize safety, attentiveness, and consistency, because every pet deserves thoughtful care. I’m currently a student at the University of Michigan and have flexibility between classes, which allows me to provide dependable daytime and evening care during the school year. In the summer, when I’m not in classes, I work part-time and have even more availability - I’m especially excited to take on more Rover bookings during that time. I’m happy to work around your pet’s routine to keep things consistent and stress-free. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I focus on keeping their routine as normal and comfortable as possible. I stick closely to feeding schedules, make sure fresh water is always available, and provide walks, playtime, and enrichment based on their usual energy level and personality. I pay attention to their behavior and body language so I can quickly notice if anything seems different. I’m also very respectful of your home, keeping things tidy and secure, while making sure your pet feels relaxed, safe, and cared for (and have fun!) in their familiar space.
“Our dog was supper happy and calm when we got home after Tori walked him and spent time with him. I can see he had a great time with her! She was also easy to communicate with. I would request her services again in the future, and recommend her to other dog owners.”

“I need someone last minute to walk my two dogs and Moriah responded right away! She has great communication and the dogs seemed to love her! She sends lots of pictures, which is appreciated. Will be a repeat customer!”

“Casidy has been consistently walking our young dog for a while now. He has a lot of energy and she works with him well. He’s so excited to see her and we are grateful for the help.”

About: Hi! My name is Nathaniel, and I’m a dependable, reliable, and energetic pet sitter based in Ann Arbor. I grew up with two cats, so I’m very comfortable with everything from playful kittens to more independent, low-key cats who just want their space. I also spent my summers in a house with six dogs, and yes, I’m serious, so I’m used to lots of energy, different personalities, feeding routines, walks, and the occasional chaos that comes with a full house of pets. I love working with animals because every pet has their own personality. Whether your dog wants a long walk, a slower sniff-filled stroll, or even a run, I’m happy to match their energy. If your dog likes to run, I’d love to take them with me. For cats, I’m great with feeding, litter boxes, playtime, and giving them attention on their terms. I’m extremely dependable, careful with instructions, and I know how important it is to trust the person caring for your pets. I’ll make sure your pet feels safe, cared for, and comfortable while you’re away, and I’m always happy to send updates and photos so you know they’re doing well. Pet care fits really naturally into my routine because I already enjoy being active and keeping a consistent schedule. I’m dependable, flexible, and good at planning my day around responsibilities, so walks, check-ins, feeding times, and overnight care are all things I can reliably work into my week. I’m especially happy to do morning, afternoon, or evening walks, and I can also adjust based on what your pet is used to. Whether your dog needs exercise, your cat needs a calm check-in, or your pet just needs someone consistent while you’re away, I’m happy to make their routine part of mine. I take safety and trust really seriously, especially because I know how much people care about their pets and their homes. In a client’s home, I always follow instructions closely, including feeding routines, walk routes, medication notes, litter box care, crate rules, and anything else that helps keep the pet comfortable. I try to keep the pet’s environment as normal and stress-free as possible. I’m careful with doors, leashes, gates, and food, and I always make sure pets are secure before entering or leaving. I’m also respectful of the home itself and make sure things are left clean and exactly how I found them. My goal is to make pets feel safe, cared for, and relaxed while their owner is away. I’m also happy to send updates and photos so owners know their pets are doing well.

Ann Arbor dog parents share their Rover experiences
Five stars, without hesitation. Shashank has been a wonderful find for our family. He walks our dog Leon regularly, and Leon gets genuinely excited every time he sees him, which tells you everything you need to know. What really cemented our trust happened when I was unexpectedly told during a routine appointment that I needed to deliver my baby the same day. With no time to make arrangements, Shashank stepped up immediately, checking on Leon, feeding, exercising him, and taking him in to board as soon as he could with little notice. That kind of reliability in an emergency is rare. What sets Shashank apart is his genuine knowledge of canine behavior. Leon was understandably stressed by all the changes, and Shashank recognized it, communicated clearly with us, and worked patiently with him until he was in a much better place. Leon came home from boarding with Shashank calm and fulfilled. We plan on continuing to work with Shashank as Leon adjusts to life with a new baby, so the transition continues to go smoothly. Communicative, reliable, kind, and deeply knowledgeable about dogs. If you're looking for someone who will truly care for your beloved pet, Shashank is your person.
