“Meaghan was awesome. Super communicative and friendly. She did a call before the stay and made sure everything was good with the dogs. She left really detailed notes and took great pictures. Will use her again!”

“Melissa is such a wonderful person! Always send updates with pictures of your pet. She was so amazing when I had to make last-minute changes due to a business meeting. I will definitely keep her as a retainer!”

“Cadence did a wonderful job taking care of our 14lb Havanese dog. She was punctual, communicative, took him on walks and sent frequent picture updates. We will absolutely hire her again! 5/5.”

“Sara had a remarkable ability to understand my cats' behavior and quickly earned their trust. She was meticulous in following all instructions and was an excellent communicator. Impressively, she even went above and beyond to maintain a tidy home, despite my naughty cats causing chaos while I was away. Her care and attention left me feeling confident and relaxed while I was away from home.”

About: I absolutely adore all animals, especially dogs! I have been caring for and house sitting dogs of all breeds since I was 15 years old. Throughout my experience, I have cared for both puppies and senior dogs making sure to adapt to each dog's unique personality and needs. I have grown up and lived with dogs my entire life, so I understand the importance of providing them with love, attention, and exercise. I am highly attentive, reliable, and committed to satisfying both the pet’s and owner’s needs. I am currently a student; however, I have a very flexible schedule, and can tailor my schedule towards the needs of my clients. I can work weekends. I am a focused and hard worker and will make sure your pet is cared for to the best of my ability. I love all animals and want to make sure that their needs are met through exercise, love, and care.
“Elayna is great! She helped us out last minute with a drop-in and even squeezed in a quick meet and greet first. She was kind and communicative. Would definitely use Elayna as a sitter again!”

About: I’ve had pets my whole life and cared for cats, dogs, rodents, and fish. I have a dog of my own who is my best friend and have raised him since puppyhood! I am home for the summer and happy to take on any personal care for your pet that you may need! I want to be a reliable go-to caregiver that you feel you can depend on. I have plenty of time on my hands to devote to giving your pet the best time possible. My services include exercise for pets, house sitting, potty breaks, basic grooming, and overall caregiving and companionship however and whenever needed! I consider myself prepared for anything and your pet’s safety and happiness is my top priority.
“Autumn was excellent at communicating and sending photos and updates of our cat while we were gone. She followed directions perfectly and our cat was calm and happy when we got home.”

“Katharyn has always been wonderful with my cats. Normally my female tabby is under distress when I leave, and she has frequent accidents in presence of other cat sitters. While she’s not super friendly with Katharyn but she’s comfortable in her presence and doesn’t pee around, or hiss at her. My male Tuxedo absolutely loves her! I don’t really see him acting so friendly with other cat sitters. I always ask Katharyn for her availability before travel because she’s so lovely and caring towards my pets!”

About: Lifelong pet lover with experience caring for both cats and dogs. I’ve fostered puppies, volunteered with dog shelters, and have been a cat dad for the past three years. I’m comfortable with pets of all ages and personalities, including shy animals and dogs who require medication. My goal is to keep your pet safe, happy, and comfortable while you’re away while providing you with peace of mind. I currently work full time Monday through Friday from 9-5pm. I am happy to work with your pets in the evenings or on the weekend. Safety, reliability, and communication are my priorities. I follow each pet’s routine closely and make sure they feel comfortable and secure while you’re away. Whether I’m caring for your cat at home or taking your dog for a walk, I’ll treat them with the same attention and care I give my own pet. I also understand the trust involved in caring for your home. I’ll treat your property with respect, follow all instructions carefully, and provide regular updates and photos so you always know how your pet is doing.
“Moriah was very professional and punctual, and she sent us adorable pictures and videos while we away so we wouldn’t miss our pup too much. She is a great communicator and we would recommend her to others!”

About: I have been a pet owner since 2010 but an animal lover my whole life. I am also a mom so I can handle pretty much anything and I have a flexible schedule. I currently work a remote part-time job so I am very flexible during the work day and at times after work and on weekends. I have my own car. I have a fully fenced yard at my house and my dog Clementine loves all animals! I am also interested in walking dogs or caring for dogs in other people's homes during the work day.

About: JT and I have been volunteering at the humane society, fostering pets, and pet sitting for friends, family and neighbors since we were teens. We are passionate about animal welfare and have supported our local animal shelters in every community where we've lived, from the Midwest to the Northeast. From our own pets as well as those from the shelter, we have cared for puppies and kittens along with older pets and pets with special needs. We are looking forward to bringing wags and fun times to caring for, walking, and spending time with your pets! JT and I have schedules that allow us to work from home. We can be available for lunchtime and afternoon walks and check-ins with your pets during the work week, as well as in-home pet sitting while you're away for work or vacation. Having worked in prior positions where we were gone all day away from our pets, we know how difficult it can be to make sure our pets were taken care of. We want to provide that support to our community now that we're in a position to do so! When caring for a pet in someone else's home, we like to make sure to understand routines and what that particular pet does each day. We want to be mindful of what's going to keep them most comfortable and at ease, and work with the pet parents to be as least disruptive as possible to the pet's normal routine. We also love sending photo updates of your pet having a good time!
About: I grew up with a golden retriever named Hailey, and when I was younger I helped my mom foster care for various puppies and cats. I am available weekdays during the summer. I am a 6 ft broad shouldered guy, so I can handle any dogs you throw at me. I have always loved animals, especially dogs. I gaurentee your dog will get a ton of positive attention, and physical activity if need be! Hope to meet tons of cool dogs! Currently doing Rover work as a summer job while I go to school for engineering! Available most weekdays and some weekends. Have a dog of my own but my parents treat him like a grandchild so I have plenty of time for Rover. Have plenty of experience with high anxiety/elder dogs as well as dogs with special needs such as diabetes who need injections through my sister's dog as well as some neighbors! One such dog usually hates people who aren't his owner but I wore him down and now he loves me! She is always shocked at how he reacts when he sees me, usually he barks and snarls at most people/other dogs but he's all cuddles when I come by. My sister's dog is high anxiety and hates most men but of course not me because Im special. (jk just great with dogs!)
“Wutt did a great job taking care of my cat. She went above and beyond for the drop in visit scooping the litter box, taking in a package and making sure my cat felt safe.”

“Angela is great! She booked on short noticed and was amazing at notifying me. She sent great pictures and made sure my dogs were happy. Would definitely book with her again as she was very reliable!”

About: I grew up with dogs, so caring for them has always been a natural part of my life. That experience taught me how to read different personalities, from energetic puppies to more relaxed senior dogs, and adjust care to fit their needs. I’m comfortable with daily routines like walks, feeding, playtime, and giving lots of attention and affection. I’m also patient with puppies who are still learning and gentle with senior dogs who need a slower pace and extra care. My goal is always to make dogs feel safe, happy, and at home while giving owners peace of mind with reliable communication and updates. I am working part time, so my schedule is flexible but stays consistent most days. I have time in the mornings or evenings to take pets out for walks, feeding, and time to play and cuddle. I will always make time for your pet to get the enrichment and exercise they need. I focus on providing kind, attentive, and reliable care in a pet’s familiar environment so they feel safe and comfortable while their owner is away. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I follow their established routines closely, feeding schedules, walks, playtime, litter box or yard care, and any special instructions, so things feel consistent and stress-free for the pet. I also make sure to give plenty of companionship, affection, and calm attention based on each animal’s personality. I prioritize making every visit meaningful and supportive, whether that’s through walks, drop-ins, or extended care in the client’s home. I treat every pet with the same kindness and care I would want for my own, and I always provide updates so owners feel reassured and connected while they’re away.

Meaghan was great! She was accommodating with my last minute request (after my previous arrangements fell through!), was on time for all her check-ins, and gave detailed updates/photos - which made me feel at ease while I was away! Would recommend and hire again :)

Melissa is a great sitter! She is very responsive and a joy to work with. She took great care of my cat while I was out of town and my cat loved hanging out with her! Melissa even checked on my cat earlier than scheduled after a storm to make sure the power was on (on a holiday)!

Kaylee was wonderful with my cat while I was away! She was reliable, kind, and communicative throughout the booking, and she completed all of the scheduled visits. I really appreciated that she asked questions when she wanted to make sure she understood the instructions, kept me updated, and let me know right away when anything came up. She also handled a small mess my cat made and was thoughtful enough to offer to come back later to check on him. It was clear she cared about him and spent time with him, which gave me a lot of peace of mind while I was traveling. I would happily book Kaylee again and highly recommend her.

Judy did a fantastic job. I got great pictures and regular summaries of her visits, and came back to sleek and happy kitties who had gotten their crazies out lol. Everything was topped off & put away, cleaner than I left it. I felt that my kitties were in capable & reliable hands, and I’ll be booking with Judy again for sure!!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
