Rani is a sweet gal with a willing spirit. She was patient with my dog and successful with the walk (my dog was putting her head down and not wanting to go forward) It was the perfect midday break. Sweet Pea got a walk, human company and potty relief. I’m so glad we found Rani to help. I recommend her wholeheartedly

I am currently attending U of M full time online, so my schedule is very open to attend to your pets needs, whatever they may be. About: I've taken care of a variety of animals through out my life such as cats, dogs, geckos, and fish. I am trained on giving dogs oral medicine. I volunteer at a local animal shelter where I'm working on my Fear Free Shelter certification and Fear Free Homes certification. I am currently working a part-time job, so my schedule is pretty free. I do not mind early mornings or late evenings. I am flexible. I can drop in and visit your cat or dog. I love playing with both. I can also perform basic care like feeding, watering, cleaning litter boxes. I can also take your dog on walks.

Janice is a must if you have a puppy. We have a very energetic puppy that can be hard to walk, but Janice does the best job walking him. She’s a dog expert and shows our little guy so much love and kindness. She’s also very quick to respond, always gives wonderful updates, and is timely. The best.

About: Hi! I am a current cat mom, have pretty much always had pets, and I’ve been doing sitting for a few years now. I’ve had experience with many different personalities of cats and dogs and am patient and kind to any animal I interact with. Overall, I love animals and want to help as many pets as possible be well taken care of. Whenever I’m free I love the chance to hang out with some cute furry friends. I do not have a consistent schedule so please just ask! Generally not accepting long stays now as I work nearly full time In a clients home I will respect their space and follow all directions given. I will make sure your pets are safe and well cared for.

About: I have always loved animals ever since I was a child. As soon as I was old enough to do so, I began taking care of my neighbors' cats and dogs when they would leave for vacation or work trips, in addition to my own dog. From there, I began volunteering at the League for Animal Welfare, a no-kill shelter in Ohio. I worked with countless dogs and cats to help train, socialize, and exercise them, and otherwise prepare them for adoption into a forever home. I am responsible, reliable, and dedicated to keeping all pets safe and happy. After owning a large golden retriever and caring for numerous dogs both larger and smaller, I am comfortable and experienced with all breeds and sizes of dogs and cats. Above all, I love animals, and will go above and beyond to make sure that your pet(s) are safe, healthy, and happy.

About: Hi! My name is Jamie, and I am a crazy animal person! I have been working in the animal industry since 2012, but I have owned and cared for all sorts of animals my whole life. I am a veterinary technician, so I am comfortable caring for pets that need medications, even for the pets that can be a bit of a challenge. I am a very active person, so if your pet prefers a jog/run instead of a walk, I am happy to accommodate. I am very comfortable handling dogs of all sizes and temperaments and adjusting to their needs. I am also happy to stop in and take care of feline companions(including medicating). I can’t wait to make your furry friend my furry friend!

About: I understand how some animals need special care. I have a 14 year old cat that has an autoimmune disease. When he is fed, there is a detailed list of thing’s that must go into his food. I have also cared for a senior cat that needed to eat at very specific times because he was so thin. Every animal is different and as owners we know what they need to have their best life. I do my best to treat each pet just as their owners treat them. I work part time right now and the only days I am not completely available are Tuesdays and Thursday. I can care for your pet Monday and Wednesday anytime and Friday through Sundays anytime if your animals are alright with children because I have a 9 year old son. I won’t be able to bring your pet to my home because I have multiple cats that would be disturbed. I however can care for them at your house.

Lauren has been wonderful with Ike. She is very responsive, communicates clearly, and is always patient with him. Since Ike is a shy boy, I really appreciate the time and effort she puts into helping him feel comfortable. With each visit, Ike has become more relaxed and confident around her, which speaks volumes about her caring and gentle approach. I highly recommend Lauren to anyone looking for a reliable and compassionate pet sitter.

Whether it’s walks, pets, feedings, or caring from a distance, I’m here for it all! I have a pretty flexible and changing schedule, mostly working afternoons. I’d love to build the rest of my schedule around your pet’s needs. I love morning walks or check ins, but im always willing to communicate to find the schedule that works best for me, you, and your pet! I aim to respect you and your pet’s environment as much as possible. I’d love to have instructions on how to best care for your pet and anything I’d need to know about your pet or home.

About: I’ve taken care of dogs and cats throughout my whole life. I grew up with dogs from the shelter and cats that were taken in as strays. I’ve pet sat for friends and family many times over the years. Feeding cats, changing litter boxes, walking/playing with dogs, and handling medications. I currently have my own cat and my family has 2 more at their home. I’m also a graduating medical student and have a great medical and first aid background which is often very similar in humans and animals. I’d feel confident managing whatever needs your pet may have. I’m currently awaiting graduation so I have full availability during the day, every day of the week. Plus weekends too. I would be able to pet sit most days from ~8a-8p! But I’m flexible! I would be diligent in collecting thorough instructions from owners and making sure to follow them to a tee. I’d ideally like to do a meet and greet prior to a sitting. And then I’m willing and able to crate dogs, let them out into the yard, put in collar/leash and take on walks. For cats, I’m able to manage whatever diet they may be on, address the litter box, play or cuddle with them, and so on

Tusk was so excited to go on a run / walk with Eric. The minute Eric pulled into the parking lot, Tusk met him at the door, ready to start his walk. Eric and Tusk ran and walked. Tusk came home, happily tired. Eric kept me updated with photos and video. I highly recommend Eric. This was their first walk together. They immediately bonded. I was so relieved.

Group walks are a good fit for social dogs who enjoy structured walks. If your dog prefers the energy of a group stroll, ask your dog walker about group walks in your Ypsilanti. Since all dog walkers are local, they may have a neighborhood dog who is a good walking companion to yours.

  • 93% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
