Rani is a sweet gal with a willing spirit. She was patient with my dog and successful with the walk (my dog was putting her head down and not wanting to go forward) It was the perfect midday break. Sweet Pea got a walk, human company and potty relief. I’m so glad we found Rani to help. I recommend her wholeheartedly

It was immediately apparent that our dog would be safe and happy in Janice’s care. She gave detailed reports at the end of every walk (with pictures), and it was clear that our pup was having a great time. Janice will be the first person we contact the next time we need to leave our dog in good hands.

Tusk was so excited to go on a run / walk with Eric. The minute Eric pulled into the parking lot, Tusk met him at the door, ready to start his walk. Eric and Tusk ran and walked. Tusk came home, happily tired. Eric kept me updated with photos and video. I highly recommend Eric. This was their first walk together. They immediately bonded. I was so relieved.

About: I understand how some animals need special care. I have a 14 year old cat that has an autoimmune disease. When he is fed, there is a detailed list of thing’s that must go into his food. I have also cared for a senior cat that needed to eat at very specific times because he was so thin. Every animal is different and as owners we know what they need to have their best life. I do my best to treat each pet just as their owners treat them. I work part time right now and the only days I am not completely available are Tuesdays and Thursday. I can care for your pet Monday and Wednesday anytime and Friday through Sundays anytime if your animals are alright with children because I have a 9 year old son. I won’t be able to bring your pet to my home because I have multiple cats that would be disturbed. I however can care for them at your house.

About: Hello! I’m Cameron and Ive had pets around me all my life, i can’t remember a time I didn’t have a little creature friend around. Growing up I was always around Cats, dogs, Turtles, and wild life in general (I was always making animal friends as a kid). I also loved volunteering at the capital area human society whenever I had time with my family, or even just visiting the cats and dogs when I was feeling down cause they need a little love and it always made me feel better. Over the past year and a half I’ve been helping assist my partner with her pet sitting jobs from clients she’s had for years while she focused on finishing her schooling at MSU to become a Vet Tech (then straight to the zoo for a 6month internship) ((she’s really rad)) and I’ve really enjoyed it. She’s taught me a lot of simple but helpful tips and tricks when it comes to pets with more specialized care, she even helped me learn how to give my own fur baby subcutaneous Fluids when they really needed it so I feel confident giving meds and helping assist with pups or kitty’s that may need a lil extra special attention. (LGBTQIA+ friendly! 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️) I work at a dispensery in Ann Arbor and all around my work schedule is pretty consistent for the most part: Mondays and Tuesdays are always my off days so it’s usually really easy for me to work in last minute drop ins or walkies those days! Throughout the week my shifts vary a little bit but it’s always either an AM or PM shift AM’s being 8:30-3oclock PM shifts being 2:30-10pm (sometimes getting out a bit later if customers linger) As of recently I’ve only been working 4 Shifts a weeks just because it’s a slower season so feel free to reach out anytime! My extra off day tends to move around so I may be able to help last minute! Jules (my partner who is the vet tech) also has random days off and is happy to pitch in as well! One of my biggest things is knowing that being away from pets is hard, that’s why I love taking daily photos and videos to send! I am very particular with my fur babies as I know most pet parents are, my two cats are very spoiled they have their separate dry food bowls and they get wet food every night (ledge gets sensitive tummy food, wink needs soup because she’s missing teefs) and a cleaned water fountain, as for my pittie, she gets a cup of food in the morning and one at night in one of her many feeding toys, then out to potty after each meal. So I would be more than happy to keep your pets routines as normal as possible with given instructions I don’t mind people being picky when it comes to their babies because I know I am. I’ve had a range of people who leave detailed instructions with their specific habits and rituals, I love following every one and seeing how comfortable and happy it makes both parents and pets.

About: I've taken care of various animals for 15+ years. I trained my own reactive dog and have a lot of patient and skills from working with accredited behaviorist. My priority is to make sure your dog is set up for success and taken care of. I currently have open availability, as I primarily work freelance. There may be some days if in advance I have events scheduled. But otherwise I am typically open. I have housemate, babysat, and of course petsat as well. My years as a professional house cleaner give me a lot of insight into treating people's homes respectfully.

About: Hi! My name is Jamie, and I am a crazy animal person! I have been working in the animal industry since 2012, but I have owned and cared for all sorts of animals my whole life. I am a veterinary technician, so I am comfortable caring for pets that need medications, even for the pets that can be a bit of a challenge. I am a very active person, so if your pet prefers a jog/run instead of a walk, I am happy to accommodate. I am very comfortable handling dogs of all sizes and temperaments and adjusting to their needs. I am also happy to stop in and take care of feline companions(including medicating). I can’t wait to make your furry friend my furry friend!

About: I have grown up around a lot of pets, and in the past few years I have lived with and helped take care of multiple dogs. I prioritize creating a calm and peaceful environment for pets in my car while their owners are away. I am flexible with my scheduling and am available most days throughout each week. This allows me to accommodate a variety of needs including walk-in visits and walks. For drop-ins and in-home visits, I prioritize keeping your pet's routine as consistent and stress free as possible. I follow all instructions regarding care, feeding, walks, and playtime carefully. I make sure to spend quality time with each pet so they feel comfortable, and I'll send regular updates and photos so you can relax knowing they're in good hands. I'll also flag anything odd right away.

Group walks are a good fit for social dogs who enjoy structured walks. If your dog prefers the energy of a group stroll, ask your dog walker about group walks in your Ypsilanti. Since all dog walkers are local, they may have a neighborhood dog who is a good walking companion to yours.

For dog walking services, you can request a report card update with specifics about your dog’s walk. Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

Yes, you can find walkers who have experience with handling special pet needs in Ypsilanti. On Rover:

  • 93% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
