“Lauren has been wonderful with Ike. She is very responsive, communicates clearly, and is always patient with him. Since Ike is a shy boy, I really appreciate the time and effort she puts into helping him feel comfortable. With each visit, Ike has become more relaxed and confident around her, which speaks volumes about her caring and gentle approach. I highly recommend Lauren to anyone looking for a reliable and compassionate pet sitter.”

About: Over the past twenty years I have cared for and lived with dogs of various ages, sizes and breeds, and needs including puppies and senior dogs. I am currently attending U of M full time online, so my schedule is very open to attend to your pets needs, whatever they may be. I am no stranger to house sitting and always treat my hosts home with the utmost respect. A majority of my time is spent on schoolwork, so I am always available to give your pet some attention.

“We were very happy with Greyson, who walked our dog while we were away. She was on time every day and spent the time walking and playing with our dog. Very trustworthy. Our dog really enjoyed spending time with Greyson. We will definitely Greyson again!”

“Katja was amazing with Lulo! She knows how to handle dogs and even with tips for how to help them in daily life. 100% would recommend and will use again. Lulo loved to run with her too.”

“Rani is a sweet gal with a willing spirit. She was patient with my dog and successful with the walk (my dog was putting her head down and not wanting to go forward) It was the perfect midday break. Sweet Pea got a walk, human company and potty relief. I’m so glad we found Rani to help. I recommend her wholeheartedly”

“Jessi knows just what our Hiro needs. Our rescue dog can fearful of other dogs and be reactive. Jessi’s calm confident demeanor helps our dog remain calm and confident so he is able to walk our neighborhood. Jessi has a way with animals!!”

“Carissa is an amazing dog walker! She’s great with my American Staffordshire mix, Baymax. Well worth the $20! He seems happier after I get home than when I have had friends or family walk him.”

About: As a flight attendant, caring for others and staying calm under pressure comes naturally to me — and I bring that same level of attentiveness and reliability to pet care. I understand how important it is to trust someone with your furry family member while you’re away. What sets me apart is the personalized care and attention I provide. I treat every pet like my own, making sure they feel safe, comfortable, loved, and entertained. Whether your dog loves long walks, playtime, cuddles, or simply having a calm companion nearby, I adapt to their personality and routine. I’m also a proud dog parent myself, so I know the importance of updates, communication, and peace of mind while you’re away. My goal is simple: for your pet to feel happy and for you to feel completely at ease. As a flight attendant, my schedule gives me multiple full days off at a time, which allows me to dedicate focused, quality time to pet care without the typical 9–5 distractions. On my days off, your pet will receive plenty of attention, walks, playtime, cuddles, and companionship throughout the day. I keep my availability updated regularly and only accept bookings I can fully commit to, ensuring your pet receives safe, reliable, and attentive care. I also provide frequent updates, photos, and communication so you can relax knowing your furry family member is in good hands. I care for every pet with patience, love, and attention to their individual needs and personality. Whether it’s walks, feeding, playtime, medication routines, cuddle time, or simply keeping them company, I make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while you’re away. I follow each pet’s normal routine as closely as possible to help reduce stress and keep them happy. I also pay close attention to behavior, energy levels, and comfort to ensure they’re doing well at all times. My goal is to make your pet feel like they’re staying with someone they already know and trust.

About: I am recently widowed and life feels pretty lonely. I currently cannot afford to have a dog of my own but I adore them and all animals and I would love to give my time to your fur babies while your away. I have been pet and house sitting for over 22 years. I used to work at a pet store and I have a lot of experience with dogs and animals of all sizes and needs. I use a loving but firm and peaceful approach with training. My German Shepherd named Ravin was my amazing companion for 13 years and I enjoyed going on adventures to find sticks, playing ball, tug of war and just snuggling and getting love. I'd love to do the same for your fur baby.
About: I have grown up with dogs, and have years of experience volunteering at humane societies. I have handled dogs and cats of all ages and sizes, and I love them all! I am currently going back to school and have availability on most days, although it does vary by semester. Animals are a huge part of my life and I cherish the time I get to spend with them and strive to provide them with the best possible care. It can be stressful when their owners are gone, so making their experience special and something to look forward to is important to me. Pet safety always comes first. I make sure animals are secure in their leash, do not escape, are kept at a distance from other animals (unless socialization is requested), and do not ingest anything dangerous. I am careful about keeping germs from spreading between pets and will always wash or sanitize my hands before touching your pet, will sanitize any toys I bring, and only use clean towels if they are necessary. Cat and dog body language is a special interest of mine, and I make an effort to interpret the signals of your animal and adjust my behavior to make them more comfortable if necessary. I believe in being gentle, kind, and encouraging with my tone of voice and actions. Pets pay a lot of attention to people, and can be sensitive to their reactions. For dogs: -I will follow your instructions for any walks/feeding/playtime -Unless instructed otherwise, I like to let dogs make a lot of the decisions about where we go on a walk and have lots of opportunities to stop and sniff. Smells are so important to dogs and are a major way their brain stays active and enriched. -I can handle strong pullers and fast walkers. -I am happy to reinforce any training goals or commands that you are working on with your dog if you would like. -I supply my own poop bags. -I have a couple of kong balls that I will bring (sanitized between dogs) if you are ok with your dog playing with them at our visits. I find for ball-motivated dogs, it can be a useful distraction and also a fun way to make their visit more exciting with a novel toy. -If approved by the owner, I bring 100% chicken treats that I can use to make them more comfortable or reward good behavior. -I will keep you updated on the appearance of their stool to make sure you know if anything is out of the ordinary for them. -I monitor how much panting and heavy breathing a dog is showing in the heat, especially in short-faced dog breeds. -If we walk through mud or rain, I bring a towel to wipe paws and towel off before coming inside. -I am experienced with elderly dogs and am careful of their joints and hips when handling them or asking them for certain movements. -I have experience with reactive and resource-guarding dogs. I pay extra close attention to any body language and the dog's individual cues in these cases, and have protective gloves if they are necessary in an emergency. For cats: -Cats have a very special place in my heart. They are all so unique, which makes getting to know each individual so rewarding. -I approach each cat at their comfort level. Sometimes a cat needs to watch me in their environment for a bit until they feel ready to come close. Some cats can be enticed by play. Some are won over with brushing or petting. Some will not be comfortable to come out for anyone except their person, and that is fine! -If approved by you beforehand, I can bring some of the many toys my personal cats have no interest in (washed before hand) to give them some novel enrichment while you're away. -I can also offer them some 100% chicken treats if you give the ok beforehand. -I have experience giving oral medication, subcutaneous fluids, eye or ear drops, brushing reluctant cats, removing mats, nail trimming, and retrieving cats from hiding places if necessary. I recommend doing a meet and greet session before our first visit, but if you provide me with instructions, I am also comfortable with visiting an animal on short notice. I look forward to meeting your animals! I'm in school and my schedule will vary somewhat each semester, however I currently have lots of availability. Let me know what times you need! I am happy to follow any instructions provided. I will take dogs out for walks for as long as is requested. We will walk close to the dog's preferred pace. I do not allow the dog to interact with other people or pets unless otherwise indicated. I may give the pet a treat at the end if you approve ahead of time. I leave the home in the same condition as it was when I arrived, barring any other requested tasks. If I take your pet for a walk on a muddy day, I will clean them after with my own hypoallergenic pet wipes. If I notice anything amiss, such as a limp while walking or other possible health concern, I will notify you immediately.
About: I have had dogs since I was little, helped my parents walk, feed, bathe, clean up after them. I had my own dog for 12 years. My children also love dogs and love to help with them. I work evenings but while I'm at work my husband is home with our children so someone is always home to take care of your dog. We have a little yard but can offer unlimited potty breaks, clean environment, an area for naps and bedtime. Lots of love from my children to keep them entertained!
About: I've taken care of my own dogs for over 20 years and have experience with a variety of breeds. I keep communication open while providing the best at home care to make your fur babies comfortable. They'll get lots of attention, love and snuggles while you'll get consistent updates about their stay. I work from home full time so they'll have a constant companion and attention. Constant potty breaks and snuggle sessions are guaranteed. They also have a yard they can run in. I have one friendly male dog who loves to make friends. Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
