About: I’ve owned animals all my life, I worked at a doggy daycare for a few years in college and I’ve done pet sitting for family and friends for as long as I can remember. I’ve taken body language classes (since that’s how our pets communicate with us) and multiple training courses with my own dog. I’ve also owned fish, turtles, several small animals including hedgehogs, hamsters, birds and rabbits. I’m open to any pets not just cats and dogs 🖤 My schedule is mostly anytime around an 8-5 Monday-Friday work schedule since I paint cars at a dealership collision shop during the day. There is no schedule for pet care so I do my best to be open and flexible to drop in on your fur babies whenever they need it. I own a reactive dog, so I understand body language and stress and how it can stack up during the day. A good balance of physical activity, combined with mental stimulation and TLC will help to ease any anxiety your pets might have while you’re gone. Many households (even myself) have cameras inside and out to keep an eye on pets and I always encourage parents to reach out if they think their pet needs an extra drop in regardless of if it’s scheduled or not. Pet sitting isn’t just a “30 minute drop in” it’s much much more to me.
“Izzy is a sweet human who takes very good care of my pup. Izzy understands the challenges rescue pups can have and does a good job of working with Ziggy with kindness and compassion. Thanks, Izzy!”

“Jessi knows just what our Hiro needs. Our rescue dog can fearful of other dogs and be reactive. Jessi’s calm confident demeanor helps our dog remain calm and confident so he is able to walk our neighborhood. Jessi has a way with animals!!”

“We were thoroughly pleased with Jean, and our first experience with Rover. She obviously loves what she is doing, and that showed in her photos of our dog (Rusty). The text communications were appreciated, and we felt pleased that Rusty had been cared for well. Thank you!”
About: I have grown up with dogs, and have years of experience volunteering at humane societies. I have handled dogs and cats of all ages and sizes, and I love them all! I am currently going back to school and have availability on most days, although it does vary by semester. Animals are a huge part of my life and I cherish the time I get to spend with them and strive to provide them with the best possible care. It can be stressful when their owners are gone, so making their experience special and something to look forward to is important to me. Pet safety always comes first. I make sure animals are secure in their leash, do not escape, are kept at a distance from other animals (unless socialization is requested), and do not ingest anything dangerous. I am careful about keeping germs from spreading between pets and will always wash or sanitize my hands before touching your pet, will sanitize any toys I bring, and only use clean towels if they are necessary. Cat and dog body language is a special interest of mine, and I make an effort to interpret the signals of your animal and adjust my behavior to make them more comfortable if necessary. I believe in being gentle, kind, and encouraging with my tone of voice and actions. Pets pay a lot of attention to people, and can be sensitive to their reactions. For dogs: -I will follow your instructions for any walks/feeding/playtime -Unless instructed otherwise, I like to let dogs make a lot of the decisions about where we go on a walk and have lots of opportunities to stop and sniff. Smells are so important to dogs and are a major way their brain stays active and enriched. -I can handle strong pullers and fast walkers. -I am happy to reinforce any training goals or commands that you are working on with your dog if you would like. -I supply my own poop bags. -I have a couple of kong balls that I will bring (sanitized between dogs) if you are ok with your dog playing with them at our visits. I find for ball-motivated dogs, it can be a useful distraction and also a fun way to make their visit more exciting with a novel toy. -If approved by the owner, I bring 100% chicken treats that I can use to make them more comfortable or reward good behavior. -I will keep you updated on the appearance of their stool to make sure you know if anything is out of the ordinary for them. -I monitor how much panting and heavy breathing a dog is showing in the heat, especially in short-faced dog breeds. -If we walk through mud or rain, I bring a towel to wipe paws and towel off before coming inside. -I am experienced with elderly dogs and am careful of their joints and hips when handling them or asking them for certain movements. -I have experience with reactive and resource-guarding dogs. I pay extra close attention to any body language and the dog's individual cues in these cases, and have protective gloves if they are necessary in an emergency. For cats: -Cats have a very special place in my heart. They are all so unique, which makes getting to know each individual so rewarding. -I approach each cat at their comfort level. Sometimes a cat needs to watch me in their environment for a bit until they feel ready to come close. Some cats can be enticed by play. Some are won over with brushing or petting. Some will not be comfortable to come out for anyone except their person, and that is fine! -If approved by you beforehand, I can bring some of the many toys my personal cats have no interest in (washed before hand) to give them some novel enrichment while you're away. -I can also offer them some 100% chicken treats if you give the ok beforehand. -I have experience giving oral medication, subcutaneous fluids, eye or ear drops, brushing reluctant cats, removing mats, nail trimming, and retrieving cats from hiding places if necessary. I recommend doing a meet and greet session before our first visit, but if you provide me with instructions, I am also comfortable with visiting an animal on short notice. I look forward to meeting your animals! I'm in school and my schedule will vary somewhat each semester, however I currently have lots of availability. Let me know what times you need! I am happy to follow any instructions provided. I will take dogs out for walks for as long as is requested. We will walk close to the dog's preferred pace. I do not allow the dog to interact with other people or pets unless otherwise indicated. I may give the pet a treat at the end if you approve ahead of time. I leave the home in the same condition as it was when I arrived, barring any other requested tasks. If I take your pet for a walk on a muddy day, I will clean them after with my own hypoallergenic pet wipes. If I notice anything amiss, such as a limp while walking or other possible health concern, I will notify you immediately.
“Lauren has been wonderful with Ike. She is very responsive, communicates clearly, and is always patient with him. Since Ike is a shy boy, I really appreciate the time and effort she puts into helping him feel comfortable. With each visit, Ike has become more relaxed and confident around her, which speaks volumes about her caring and gentle approach. I highly recommend Lauren to anyone looking for a reliable and compassionate pet sitter.”

“Jackie is GREAT! She is punctual and very sweet with my pups. She took the time to learn their personalities which is helping them feel safe and comfortable. I highly recommend Jackie for your pet care needs.”

“Andy has done a wonderful job taking care of our dog Juniper! They go above and beyond and we know Juniper will receive the best care and will be so excited to see Andy each week!”
“Eric is the best! Both time he helped me with my pup, I waited until the last minute and he was very quick to reply and also very flexible and accommodating. Furthermore my dog looks so happy when he's is with Eric ( he always sends pictures and even video of him running with my pup. My dog comes home in a good mood and seems chilled out. I definitely recommend Eric for any pet related needs. You can tell he has a ki d heart and a passion for animals. Thanks Eric. I appriciate you.”

About: I have a Master’s degree in Biology and currently work in a management role, bringing reliability, organization, and strong communication skills to everything I do—including pet care. I’ve been an animal lover my entire life and have experience caring for dogs, cats, and even bunnies. Over the years, I’ve provided pet sitting for a wide variety of animals throughout college and beyond. In addition to personal experience, I’ve volunteered my time walking dogs at a local animal shelter and have supported animal welfare through holiday donation drives. Caring for animals isn’t just something I enjoy—it’s something I genuinely value. I’m also an active runner currently training for a half marathon, so I’d be more than happy to take high-energy dogs out for runs or extra-long walks to help them burn off energy and stay happy and healthy. I’m using Rover as a way to give back while doing something I love. I’m fundraising for two meaningful causes as part of my upcoming runDisney half marathon at Disney World: Hope Story, which supports individuals with Down syndrome, and Experience Camps, which provides free camps for children who have lost a parent or sibling. I’m just $1195 away from my goal, and every booking helps me get closer while continuing to provide loving, dependable care for pets. I currently work from home and have a flexible schedule. My son will be attending school this summer and I’m looking for additional ways to earn some extra money. I have a rescue pit-mix named Jetta who enjoys our acre and a half backyard. I am reliable and will show respect in client homes, if drop in visits are preferred.
About: Over the past twenty years I have cared for and lived with dogs of various ages, sizes and breeds, and needs including puppies and senior dogs. I am currently attending U of M full time online, so my schedule is very open to attend to your pets needs, whatever they may be. I am no stranger to house sitting and always treat my hosts home with the utmost respect. A majority of my time is spent on schoolwork, so I am always available to give your pet some attention.

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Belleville
Kallandra was exactly what we needed on short notice! Booked her last minute while I was out of town and my wife had our child, so, not the easiest situation. She was professional from the first message, asked all the right questions about Mickey (leash behavior, other dogs, home access), and was upfront about her availability instead of overpromising. She lives close by, which made everything smoother. Mickey pulled a bit on the leash, she handled it without issue and sent updates after every single walk. My wife said he took to her immediately, which says a lot because he can be picky. Six walks over four days, all completed, all on time (minor Wednesday morning adjustment she flagged in advance). She closed out with a genuine message and didn't just disappear after the last walk. That kind of professionalism sticks. We'll definitely book her again!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
