Supervision/paying attention and being informed about behaviors/needs are the best way to care for someone else's pet, especially if they are outside of their home environment. It's very important to pay attention to any information pet parents might inform you of and follow their instructions exactly. The more you know about them and their regular routine, the safer and more relaxed they are. You can trust that If I am responsible for your animal, their care is my top priority. For now, I offer Boarding as well as Drop In Visits and Dog Walking on Rover, so I make sure to balance my schedule accordingly between in-house and out-of-house services to give your companion the best care possible. My husband also works from home and loves animals as much as I do so there is almost always an extra set of eyes and ears in case of emergencies or if I need to step out for short periods of time for other bookings.

Information Kallandra S. would like to know about your pet
Please let me know if there are any special needs your animal may have but anything and everything that you think I need to know about medical info/behaviors/training/routines/etc. please feel free to over-inform me. I would much rather be over prepared so that your pet is as safe and well taken care of as possible.
A typical day
Depending on what the client is comfortable with, I am happy to get very active with long walks, nature trails, and dog parks or just playing a game of tug or fetch in the house or yard. Typically for a dog I am boarding, I try to take them on at least 1 long walk a day around the neighborhood/local trails/dog parks. The rest of time is spent playing with the other dogs, myself, and the endless number of toys I have in every corner of my home :) I know the importance of exercising a dog not just physically but mentally too. I am happy to cater to any level of adventure or entertainment the pet parent would like me to do and/or is comfortable with. All dogs are unique and have different needs but at the end of the day my goal is always to return them to you properly exercised and entertained, physically and mentally!

Pet care experience
Hello! I have been pet sitting for everyone in my life as well as taking care of my own animals since I was a teenager. I finally decided to follow my dream of doing this professionally at the start of 2022 and have loved every minute of it since! Currently, my husband and I have 2 cats and 3 Golden Retrievers (6.5, 2, and 1.5 yrs). I also regularly watch 2 other Goldens. I have been taking care of the oldest (Kevin 5 yrs) going on 3 years now, I consider him as much a part of our family as my own pups, and I am just starting to get to know and love his new little brother Freddy! We lost our precious good boy and first dog Riley the Border Collie last year to old age and miss him everyday 💕. In short, I am no stranger to high energy dogs and how to keep them entertained and occupied! I also have experience with other senior dogs and cats and special needs cats. Between family animals and sitting I have experience with the following breed of dogs: Golden Retrievers, Labrador Retrievers, German Shepards, Australian Shepards, Doodles, Collies, Setter mixes, Dachshunds, Terriers, Pitt Mixes, Huskys/similar breeds, Poodles (large and small), and Pugs – Almost anything you cand think of! I grew up in a rural town and was part of the 4H community so I have experience taking care of many farm animals including Horses, Goats, Cows, Pigs, Rabbits (farm or domesticated), and Chickens/Ducks/Geese. I also have some experience with reptiles and Tarantulas. I love all animals, so even if I’ve never come across your furry, feathery, or scaley friend, I am a quick learner and will follow your instructions to a T. My end goal in life is to have a large animal sanctuary/shelter so I can help as many animals in need as possible. Until then I plan to work hard caring for them and gaining more experience to hopefully build a clientele and reputation to reach my goal. As cliché as it may sound to some, my animals are like my children. (Of course, I do not think raising an animal is as hard as raising a child) BUT I do think that your pet should be a part of the family and deserves to be treated as such. I know what it's like to worry about who is taking care of them and what kind of job they're doing. I consider myself a very hardworking and responsible individual and I am not the type of person to cut corners just because it's easy, especially when it comes to our furry family members. You can rest easy knowing your companions will be in protective experienced hands and of course have fun at the same time! Give me the chance and I promise I won't let you down!
Reviews

Kallandra was exactly what we needed on short notice! Booked her last minute while I was out of town and my wife had our child, so, not the easiest situation. She was professional from the first message, asked all the right questions about Mickey (leash behavior, other dogs, home access), and was upfront about her availability instead of overpromising. She lives close by, which made everything smoother. Mickey pulled a bit on the leash, she handled it without issue and sent updates after every single walk. My wife said he took to her immediately, which says a lot because he can be picky. Six walks over four days, all completed, all on time (minor Wednesday morning adjustment she flagged in advance). She closed out with a genuine message and didn't just disappear after the last walk. That kind of professionalism sticks. We'll definitely book her again!

Kallandra was a great pet sitter for my two cats over the holidays! She was very responsive to all my messages, sent plenty of pictures every day, and kept my home in great condition. I would definitely book with Kallandra again.

Did a wonderful job caring for my cats. Sent daily updates and pictures. Will absolutely use her services again for our pet care needs. Thank Kallandra!!

Amazing as usual!
