“Lauren has been wonderful with Ike. She is very responsive, communicates clearly, and is always patient with him. Since Ike is a shy boy, I really appreciate the time and effort she puts into helping him feel comfortable. With each visit, Ike has become more relaxed and confident around her, which speaks volumes about her caring and gentle approach. I highly recommend Lauren to anyone looking for a reliable and compassionate pet sitter.”

“We were very happy with Greyson, who walked our dog while we were away. She was on time every day and spent the time walking and playing with our dog. Very trustworthy. Our dog really enjoyed spending time with Greyson. We will definitely Greyson again!”

“First time hiring a pet sitter, wasn't sure what to expect. Molly was absolutely amazing. She went above and beyond what I had expected. I would recommend her to anyone as someone to take care of their pets.”

About: I have been caring for animals since elementary school. I watched cats and dogs for neighbors and friends of the family. As I got older, I started getting referrals for pets from around the community and cared for those animals too. The arch of my kindness and care is not limited to animals, as I also provide care for the elderly. I cared for both of my grandparents and my father until his passing. I currently provide care and other services to a 104 year-old young lady who is believed to be my community’s oldest living resident and yes, she still walks and does not use a wheelchair. I am self-employed and have a very flexible schedule. I can care for your pet any day of the week (unless I have another pet scheduled for that day) and at times convenient for most people. I am here to follow your instructions and schedule without deviation. Your fur baby will be feed exactly at the time(s) directed by you, same with any medication(s). For dogs, I will take them outside for walks and indoor/outdoor play as weather permits, and see that their water is always fresh with some treats and cuddles too. For cats, it is play and more play; plus fresh water and treats, then snuggling when we are done.

About: I have a Master’s degree in Biology and currently work in a management role, bringing reliability, organization, and strong communication skills to everything I do—including pet care. I’ve been an animal lover my entire life and have experience caring for dogs, cats, and even bunnies. Over the years, I’ve provided pet sitting for a wide variety of animals throughout college and beyond. In addition to personal experience, I’ve volunteered my time walking dogs at a local animal shelter and have supported animal welfare through holiday donation drives. Caring for animals isn’t just something I enjoy—it’s something I genuinely value. I’m also an active runner currently training for a half marathon, so I’d be more than happy to take high-energy dogs out for runs or extra-long walks to help them burn off energy and stay happy and healthy. I’m using Rover as a way to give back while doing something I love. I’m fundraising for two meaningful causes as part of my upcoming runDisney half marathon at Disney World: Hope Story, which supports individuals with Down syndrome, and Experience Camps, which provides free camps for children who have lost a parent or sibling. I’m just $1195 away from my goal, and every booking helps me get closer while continuing to provide loving, dependable care for pets. I currently work from home and have a flexible schedule. My son will be attending school this summer and I’m looking for additional ways to earn some extra money. I have a rescue pit-mix named Jetta who enjoys our acre and a half backyard. I am reliable and will show respect in client homes, if drop in visits are preferred.

About: Based in Belleville, MI - I started pet sitting for friends in 2021 while covid precautions were still in place, and since then I've helped many friends whenever they were heading out of town for a while. I've always had a knack for getting along with cats, dogs, and other animals, even those who are shy or aggressive at first. Your pet's needs are my priority. I will review all of your provided instructions with you so that I may ask questions and make sure we're on the same page. And, if anything ever seems wrong, I'll make sure you know immediately so that you can make informed decisions regarding your pet's care. I believe every pet has a good heart - they just need the right care and attention to let that shine through! I work part time on a pretty flexible schedule, so I can always make time for your animal companions! I specialize in keeping pets comfy and cared for so that you can rest easy on vacation :) I pay close attention to and respect both behavior and body language - this keeps everyone safe, and allows me to inform you right away if something requires your attention.
“Jackie is GREAT! She is punctual and very sweet with my pups. She took the time to learn their personalities which is helping them feel safe and comfortable. I highly recommend Jackie for your pet care needs.”

About: I’ve had animals my entire life and genuinely enjoy caring for them like they’re my own. Right now, I have two cats who are my baby boys, so I understand how important it is to trust someone with your pets and their routines. I’m comfortable with a wide range of animals and personalities—from high-energy dogs to more independent or shy pets—and I always take the time to make them feel safe and cared for. I’m very detail-oriented and reliable, especially when it comes to following feeding schedules, routines, and any special instructions. I know how important consistency is for pets, and I make that a priority. I work from home Monday–Friday, which gives me some flexibility during the day for drop-in visits and pet care. I have the most availability after 5 PM on weekdays and on weekends. I’m also available for overnight stays in my clients’ homes, since I live in an apartment and am not offering boarding in my own home. I care for pets in their own home so they can stay in a familiar, comfortable environment. I carefully follow each owner’s instructions for feeding, medications, litter boxes, walks, playtime, and routines. I always make sure doors are secure, pets have fresh water, and their space is clean and safe before I leave. I’m also happy to send updates and photos so you know your pets are doing well.
About: Hi, I’m Sarah! I’m a lifelong animal lover and the proud dog mom of Bella Rose, my rescued miniature dachshund. Caring for Bella has taught me how important patience, consistency, and gentle attention are, especially with shy or nervous dogs. I treat every pet like I would want someone to treat Bella. I’m attentive to routines, feeding instructions, medications, comfort levels, and all the little details that help animals feel safe. Whether your pet loves long walks, playtime, cuddling, or simply having someone nearby, I’ll adjust to what makes them happiest. I’m also an English student and writer, so I have a flexible schedule and plenty of time to give your pet genuine, one-on-one attention. I’ll keep you updated with messages and photos so you can relax knowing your pet is safe, comfortable, and loved. I’m an online English student and writer, so my schedule is flexible and I spend most of my time at home. Pet care fits naturally into my routine, and I’m available for walks, drop-ins, playtime, feeding, and plenty of attention throughout the day. I already plan my days around caring for my own dog, Bella, so making sure pets feel safe, comfortable, and loved is a normal part of my everyday life. I follow each pet’s normal routine and all instructions provided by their owner, including feeding, walks, medications, and house rules. I keep pets supervised, double-check doors and leashes, and never leave them outside unattended. In my home, I introduce pets to Bella slowly and carefully, and I can give them separate spaces when needed. I keep my apartment calm, clean, and comfortable, with plenty of attention and rest time. I’ll also send regular photo and message updates so you always know how your pet is doing.
“Izzy is fantastic. Izzy has walked our dog for close to a year. She’s completely reliable, makes sure our dog doesn’t eat anything suspicious while walking, and has even done some dog training. Our girl loves her so much, she will actually leave the house with Izzy even though I may be home - she doesn’t do this for anyone but Izzy.”

About: With years of experience working at a pet store, taking care of friends pets while they're out of town, and even my own furry kids I feel confident in my abilities to be there for your pets when you need me to. I am currently trying to work for myself via a couple different avenues. What does this mean for you? I have open availability to fit in your and your pets schedule perfectly! I am a very open communicator! If I have questions or concerns I will reach out to you. I am a firm believer in treating people how you want to be treated and that will translate with how I interact with your pets and home!
About: Since 2006, I have traveled for work extensively (100-200+/days) and owned several dogs and homes. I know how challenging it can be to find someone who loves dogs and won't cancel or flake last minute, and also not worry about the stress and care level at boarding environments for your furry family members. I am a college coach with open dates this summer to watch your home and pets. I'd love to earn extra income in order to keep chasing my dream with my 12-year-old border collie. If I'm working in the office, I'm still able to make time for home visits, walks and all the pets. I am also able to work remote at times. I look forwarding to finding some families to help as much as I can. I have raised agility dogs, puppies, seniors and added to my pack of 2-3 over the years. I have a good knowledge of feeding dogs with allergies, have done many baths and grooming, and have cared for sick pups. I treat my own dog like family, while also respecting and teaching boundaries.
About: I have experience caring for both cats and dogs and understand that every pet has their own unique personality and needs. I currently care for two cats and also have a Golden Retriever who lives with my former roommate but still comes to visit on weekends, allowing me to stay actively involved in his care and routine. I have also cared for dogs on numerous occasions, including watching my cousin’s dog whenever her family goes on vacation and is unable to bring him along. Through these experiences, I have worked with multiple dog breeds and am comfortable with feeding, walks, playtime, maintaining routines, and providing a safe and loving environment. As a pet owner myself, I know how important it is to find someone trustworthy to care for your furry family members. Whether your pet is energetic and playful or shy and independent, I will provide attentive, reliable, and compassionate care to help them feel comfortable, happy, and loved while you’re away. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine. I work full-time, but I am able to check on pets before work, during my lunch break, after work, and throughout the weekend. This allows me to provide regular potty breaks, feeding, exercise, playtime, and companionship. Your pet will never be left alone for extended periods and is typically left alone for no more than 1–2 hours at a time. I understand the importance of maintaining a consistent routine and will ensure your pet receives the attention, care, and affection they deserve while you’re away. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and well-being are my top priorities. I carefully follow all care instructions, including feeding schedules, medications, exercise needs, and any special requirements. I provide a calm, clean, and loving environment where pets can feel safe and relaxed. Communication is also important to me. Every pet parent has different preferences, so I always ask whether they would like frequent updates throughout the day or just a daily check-in. Some owners enjoy receiving lots of photos and updates, while others prefer fewer messages while they’re busy at work or enjoying their vacation. I am happy to accommodate either preference and will always keep you informed in the way that works best for you. I believe in treating every pet as if they were my own and strive to ensure both pets and their owners feel comfortable, confident, and cared for throughout the entire experience.
About: I’ve had pets since I can remember. I am very comfortable with all animals. I have had dogs and cats with various medical needs so I am comfortable with all types of animal care. I also love walking and am more than willing to go as far as your pet wants! I am currently a stay at home mom, so my schedule is pretty open for when you would need me. I am available during the week and most weekends. Monday-Friday: available at any time Tuesday-Thursday: any time before 8am, or after 5pm I am comfortable with feeding, scooping litter, playing, taking outside, giving medication and I am able to handle any aspect of care your pet may need.
About: I have taken care of dogs for years now. I am very hands-on with training my pups. I am very active and reliable. I like being up early and getting the day started. I have experience with very large breeds and tea cup breeds! At home I have a Bernese Mountain Dog puppy, and a German Shepherd. I enjoy all animals and animals usually love me. I do not mind the weather conditions of Michigan and have never called off from any job. I am good at communicating and if there is ever any issues I would ensure you know right away. I love other people’s animals like they are my own and would not have any issues with high maintenance, or dogs with medical needs. You will not be disappointed if you choose me to look after your fur babies. I have 2 rabbits that I care for daily, they are free-range and at just like cats! I always ensure my pups at home are getting the right amount of activity weather it is just throwing the ball or going for a run. I do have a fenced in yard, with no dogs in the neighboring yards. With having the community center close, walks are a lot of fun and they love all the new smells!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
