“Ally has been an absolute blessing. My original sitter had a scheduling conflict for about a week and I was fortunate Ally was available to fill in. I'd actually considered her to be the original sitter but the only reason I didn't was because I managed to find a sitter who was in the same apartment complex as me, which gave me peace of mind in case my pet had any emergencies. The initial meet and greet went very smoothly. She brought a notebook and I felt like a professor as she took notes while I explained the care duties. She was diligent with her questions and, during the visits, I never found myself having to repeat any of the instructions I'd given. My cat (who took almost a year to warm up to me) warmed up to her within minutes, which totally didn't make me jealous. It's always a plus when your pet gives you the greenlight. I chose the 60-min visit option and I know it can get repetitive and boring doing the same things every visit but she showed absolutely no signs of an "I'm just here for a paycheck" attitude. Her Rover cards always contained detailed descriptions of my cat's eating and bathroom habits, as well as his general demeanor and what they both did during the visits. And the pictures wouldn't just be the same pose shot from different angles either. All in all, she took care of my boy as if he were her own, which is honestly all I'd hoped for. As she's only a block away from me, she's definitely my first choice if I ever need a sitter again.”

“Great communication! She was quick to respond to any message or question we had. Very professional and our dog had no issue warming up to her. Would highly recommend! Plan to use her again in the future.”

About: I started pet sitting for friends in 2021 while covid precautions were still in place, and since then I've helped many friends whenever they were heading out of town for a while. I've always had a knack for getting along with cats, dogs, and other animals, even those who are shy or aggressive at first. Your pet's needs are my priority. I will review all of your provided instructions with you so that I may ask questions and make sure we're on the same page. And, if anything ever seems wrong, I'll make sure you know immediately so that you can make informed decisions regarding your pet's care. I believe every pet has a good heart - they just need the right care and attention to let that shine through! I work part time on a pretty flexible schedule, so I can always make time for your animal companions! I specialize in keeping pets comfy and cared for so that you can rest easy on vacation :) I pay close attention to and respect both behavior and body language - this keeps everyone safe, and allows me to inform you right away if something requires your attention.
“Molly is truly the sweetest cat sitter anyone could ask for! My husband and i were out of town for months, and knowing my cats were in her care gave me complete peace of mind. She made the entire experience completely stress-free. She treated my cats as if they were her own, giving them so much love, attention, and care. Every single day, she kept us updated with messages, photos, and videos, letting us know how they were doing and if anything came up. Her communication was amazing, and it meant so much to us to stay connected with our babies while we were away. Molly is reliable, kind, patient, and genuinely cares about the animals she looks after. I couldn’t have asked for a better sitter. If you’re looking for someone you can fully trust with your pets, I wholeheartedly recommend Molly. She is simply the best, and I will absolutely book her again! We love you molly❤️”

“Kacie is fantastic. My cat instantly felt comfortable when she came over for the meet and greet, which eased my mind. Great communication while I was out of town. I definitely trust her and know Matty was in good hands.”

“Christina did an amazing job of bonding with my cat. It gave me enormous reassurance while I was traveling to know he was being well cared for. Thanks a million Christina. You're at the top of my list when I'm traveling in the future.”

“We have used Greyson’s drop-in visits and overnight stays for both our two cats and two dogs. Greyson always provides a detailed report and will ensure she meets your expectations.”

“Marla was great! This was my first time using rover and I’m glad Marla was our first experience. Marla got my cats to interact with her on the first visit! I was able to have peace of mind while away, and I’m super grateful for her. Thanks so much!!”

“This was our first time using Jennifer as a cat sitter. She is trustworthy and very caring. She checked in with us after each visit and sent us pictures and notes. She followed all our instructions. We will definitely use Jennifer in the future for when we need a sitter. Highly recommend!”

About: I have a Master’s degree in Biology and currently work in a management role, bringing reliability, organization, and strong communication skills to everything I do—including pet care. I’ve been an animal lover my entire life and have experience caring for dogs, cats, and even bunnies. Over the years, I’ve provided pet sitting for a wide variety of animals throughout college and beyond. In addition to personal experience, I’ve volunteered my time walking dogs at a local animal shelter and have supported animal welfare through holiday donation drives. Caring for animals isn’t just something I enjoy—it’s something I genuinely value. I’m also an active runner currently training for a half marathon, so I’d be more than happy to take high-energy dogs out for runs or extra-long walks to help them burn off energy and stay happy and healthy. I’m using Rover as a way to give back while doing something I love. I’m fundraising for two meaningful causes as part of my upcoming runDisney half marathon at Disney World: Hope Story, which supports individuals with Down syndrome, and Experience Camps, which provides free camps for children who have lost a parent or sibling. I’m just $1195 away from my goal, and every booking helps me get closer while continuing to provide loving, dependable care for pets. I currently work from home and have a flexible schedule. My son will be attending school this summer and I’m looking for additional ways to earn some extra money. I have a rescue pit-mix named Jetta who enjoys our acre and a half backyard. I am reliable and will show respect in client homes, if drop in visits are preferred.

“Claire was amazing. My cat was very happy well fed and taken care of. She always kept me updated with plenty of pictures. I was perfectly happy with her service. Great job. I tipped her in cash. Would use her again.”
About: I’ve had and taken care of dogs and cats of a variety of breeds my whole life. I’ve worked with dogs and cats of all ages and a variety of sizes. I currently have a large breed, American Akita, and a small breed, Pomsky, and a tuxedo cat. I’m experienced with dogs who have special needs and require medication. I work full time, but have plenty of availability to take care of your pup. I’m available on weekends and week day evenings after 4:15 pm. Ask me about overnight stays. I will provide what your pet needs based on your environment. If you have a fenced in yard we will play there. If not we will go on walks and play.

“Literally cannot survive without her. She is so nice and patient with my Huskies who love to talk and harass her for carrots. They love her and she plays outside with them the whole time and gives so many updates.”

“Christine was so pleasant and I knew right away I could trust her to be thorough and give great attention to my outdoor birds, squirrels and hummingbirds while we were away. Her desire to give excellent care to your pets is very evident and helped me relax while I was away knowing they were in great hands.”

“Silvia is the best!!! She met with my three cats a couple days before so I could introduce them and show her around. She came at the same time everyday, and was sooo great!! She sent lots and lots of pictures and was absolutely amazing with communication. I felt completely at ease entrusting her with the care of my furry family members. She even captured the trust of my skiddish cat who doesn’t usually warm up to strangers. She is very trustworthy and absolutely the type of person you want pet sitting your animals :) Will absolutely book again!”

“Sherri was great with my dog from start to finish. She genuinely loves pets and brought puzzles to play with my dog. She is attentive, knowledgeable, and gives you comprehensive updates daily. She sent me a ton of pictures and in almost all of them my dog was smiling. I recommend her 100% for any pet needs.”

“Kennedy was fantastic! Very prompt in responding to set up the booking and followed directions perfectly. I have 2 very skittish cats who have never willingly let anyone but me touch or come near them-until Kennedy! I was blown away that my cat came out for her and let her pet her by only the second visit. She's definitely a cat whisperer!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
