“Molly was absolutely amazing!! Highly recommend. She took such good care of our older Alaskan Malamute, Luna. She went above and beyond to make sure Luna was exceptionally cared for. We received detailed daily reports and pics and that was so appreciated. I could tell by Molly's comments that she was really in tune with Luna's personality and needs. She was very responsive and really easy to communicate with. We are already looking to book with her again in October. Thank you Molly!”

“This was our first time using Jennifer as a cat sitter. She is trustworthy and very caring. She checked in with us after each visit and sent us pictures and notes. She followed all our instructions. We will definitely use Jennifer in the future for when we need a sitter. Highly recommend!”

“Kacie has taken such great care of our animals and our home. We are so glad to have found a dependable and trustworthy person to be here for our animals when we cannot be!”

“Christina did an amazing job of bonding with my cat. It gave me enormous reassurance while I was traveling to know he was being well cared for. Thanks a million Christina. You're at the top of my list when I'm traveling in the future.”

“Ivy has been absolutely amazing over the past month. She was able to hop right in two days after our little pup came home, and has been a godsend on my in-office days. Gilly loves her and enjoys playing and snuggles. I would definitely recommend her for her excellent communication, demeanor, and professionalism, and even as our pup moves to Puppy Preschool, we will still be working with Ivy whenever we need a sitter or a drop-in.”

“We felt very comfortable with Jessi! Our first time booking her, and she took excellent care of our dog. Quick to communicate and sent detailed updates, which was much appreciated!”

“Nicole was so nice and friendly when we met, and my pup immediately loved her! She even took notes to make sure she had everything. I was nervous leaving my pup alone for the first time with someone I didn’t know, but she sent me a lot of pictures, videos and detailed updates that put me at ease. I will definitely be using her again!”

About: I have a Master’s degree in Biology and currently work in a management role, bringing reliability, organization, and strong communication skills to everything I do—including pet care. I’ve been an animal lover my entire life and have experience caring for dogs, cats, and even bunnies. Over the years, I’ve provided pet sitting for a wide variety of animals throughout college and beyond. In addition to personal experience, I’ve volunteered my time walking dogs at a local animal shelter and have supported animal welfare through holiday donation drives. Caring for animals isn’t just something I enjoy—it’s something I genuinely value. I’m also an active runner currently training for a half marathon, so I’d be more than happy to take high-energy dogs out for runs or extra-long walks to help them burn off energy and stay happy and healthy. I’m using Rover as a way to give back while doing something I love. I’m fundraising for two meaningful causes as part of my upcoming runDisney half marathon at Disney World: Hope Story, which supports individuals with Down syndrome, and Experience Camps, which provides free camps for children who have lost a parent or sibling. I’m just $1195 away from my goal, and every booking helps me get closer while continuing to provide loving, dependable care for pets. I currently work from home and have a flexible schedule. My son will be attending school this summer and I’m looking for additional ways to earn some extra money. I have a rescue pit-mix named Jetta who enjoys our acre and a half backyard. I am reliable and will show respect in client homes, if drop in visits are preferred.
“Corriane took such great care of my cats! She’s wonderful! The updates were great and let me know they were well cared for. She also managed to get my more timid cat to come out for attention.”
About: I’ve had and taken care of dogs and cats of a variety of breeds my whole life. I’ve worked with dogs and cats of all ages and a variety of sizes. I currently have a large breed, American Akita, and a small breed, Pomsky, and a tuxedo cat. I’m experienced with dogs who have special needs and require medication. I work full time, but have plenty of availability to take care of your pup. I’m available on weekends and week day evenings after 4:15 pm. Ask me about overnight stays. I will provide what your pet needs based on your environment. If you have a fenced in yard we will play there. If not we will go on walks and play.
About: I got my first dog when I was in 12. Her name was Egypt and she was a red nose pit and at the time i didn’t know much about dogs but the love i grew for her and caring for her was so deep. She needed me for everyday survival but I learned I needed her much more than she needed me. I feel that way about all animals and I will treat your pet as if they are Egypt. I have dog sat friends/family pets before as well, i walked, fed, bathed, their/my pets as well as cleaning their enclosures and dealing with doggie periods. I also have cared for a hamster and bearded dragon before so I have experience will pets other than cats or dogs! I’m currently working 7-1pm shifts, so I am free after 1pm and all day on the days I do not have work! I’d like to fit in pet care as much as I can! I currently live at an apartment and would prefer to care for your pets in your home but I have no problem cleaning up and refreshing the food bowls and litter boxes. Also making sure there are no paw prints on the floor if it’s wet or muddy outside. I love cleaning so also just cleaning up after myself or your pet if an accident occurs.

“Thanks so much! Paid a lot of attention to my pup's needs. Loved getting the pictures. (Even the poop ones -- I need to know about my baby's health!) Would use Jean again!”

“I had an excellent experience with my cat-sitter Lauren. She was always on time for every visit and spent lots of quality time playing with Nimbus, which I really appreciated. She consistently sent pictures and messages to keep me updated, and it was clear from every update that Nimbus was happy and comfortable. She followed all of my instructions correctly and was incredibly kind and gentle with Nimbus throughout her stay. I will definitely ask Lauren to cat-sit Nimbus again whenever I need to. I highly recommend her — she provided outstanding care and great peace of mind while I was away.”

“Sherri was great with my dog from start to finish. She genuinely loves pets and brought puzzles to play with my dog. She is attentive, knowledgeable, and gives you comprehensive updates daily. She sent me a ton of pictures and in almost all of them my dog was smiling. I recommend her 100% for any pet needs.”

“Isabelle has helped us out with occasional drop-in visits for our small dog and she is great! Our pup has been well-cared for and Isabelle was even available on relatively short notice. She is very communicative and we will definitely hire her again!”

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Romulus. On Rover:
- 95% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
