“Evelyn did a great job showing love and giving care for our cat Luna. We especially appreciated the detailed updates with photos. Thank you for giving us peace of mind while we were away from our little girl.”

“Kristina is wonderful! I have a very nervous and reactive dog and Kristina came over to meet my dog before babysitting and was great with my dog. She sent lots of photos and updates during her visit to let me know how my dog was doing with her which was much appreciated. Will definitely be a repeat customer with Kristina!”

“A very kind and attentive person. She gave my cat her full attention and affection! The daily “card” with the pictures assured me that all was well. And she added a special touch on the last day.”

“Jennifer is very clearly good with cats. It was obvious in the meet and greet that my cat was automatically comfortable with her and I was very at ease with leaving him in her care. She delivered in spades and I came home to a happy Kotzebue.”

“Lauren is a great communicator and made us feel comfortable going out of town. She was quick to answer questions and send us photos during her visits. We will use her again!”

“Corri has been our primary pet sitter for a couple of years now. She is a wonderful and caring pet sitter for our kitties. She is dependable and reliable, and we would highly recommend her!”

“Lillian was responsive and provided regular updates on my kitties. She followed the directions I provided and gave my difficult kitty the space he needed. She stuck to a regular schedule every day, which was appreciated since one of the cats needs medication. Overall, she provided excellent care and I'd book her again next time I need a sitter.”

“Christina did an amazing job of bonding with my cat. It gave me enormous reassurance while I was traveling to know he was being well cared for. Thanks a million Christina. You're at the top of my list when I'm traveling in the future.”

“I was so nervous about leaving my senior cat in the hands of someone else as she is very picky. And usually has choice words for strangers. Chelsea instantly eased my anxieties. She did a meet n greet which I thought was so kind. My cat instantly liked her (which is not usual for her!) Not only did Chelsea do the drop-in perfectly but she even was patient enough for my other skiddish cat to come out of hiding. And she sent plenty of pictures that gave me even more relief on my vacation. She even brought our packages in from the porch! I appreciate her and would definitely book her services again! 10/10 recommend!”

About: I’d love the opportunity to take care of your pet! I love dogs and cats, and have one cat of my own. :) I currently care for family and friends pets when they are out of town, but would love to add a few more pets to my schedule for boarding/drop-ins or walks. I am responsible & reliable and will treat your pet with much love and care! My current availability is evenings after work and weekends. During the summer months (mid June, July, August) my availability is open and I can provide pet care any time. I will follow all directions and give your pets the same love and care I give my sweet babies at home! I am reliable and respectful of others home & pets. You can count on me to take excellent care of your pets!
“I’ve had Brittany watch my three kittens twice now and she has been very communicative and flexible with bookings. Always provides updates and pictures of drop-in visits and spends about 30 mins petting and playing with the kittens each visit in addition to food, water, and the litterbox.”

“I cannot say enough good things about Celia!!! She followed instructions to the T and sent me pictures and feedback at every visit. My (spoiled) kitties were well cared for and I will definitely request her the next time I leave town!!”

“Carissa dropped in on my cats twice a day when I was out of town for a week. Carissa was professional - communicating when she encountered issues (e.g. train delays) and sending Rover cards detailing caretaking activities. Although my cats refuse to coexist (i.e. they live in separate rooms) Carissa made sure both received quality playtime and social interaction each visit. Her notes made it clear she understands cat logic; she worked hard to win their trust, but didn’t take it personally when they were feeling aloof. Overall, a very positive experience.”

“Amy was awesome! Sent pictures of her playing with Milo and was kind enough to do a bit of upkeep around my house as well. Is great with communication and made me feel comfortable with leaving my kitty behind. Will definitely be utilizing Amy’s services again :)”

“Bethany wasn't in the house more than five minutes before my cat Karma was trying to crawl in her lap! I could tell how much she loves cats and that she would take great care of mine. And she did! Would highly recommend!”

“Alyson is truly a dog person. She was awesome with Missy. She followed my instructions for her and went above and beyond caring for her. I ran out of her premium dog food, and Alyson brought some to replace it while I was gone, which was so thoughtful of her and Missy was so grateful for that. I am looking forward to having Alyson back to care from Missy again. I feel very comfortable, leaving her in her care.”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Westland
We are very thankful to have Lynn watch our two cats and one dog while we were on vacation. Because of her care and attention to our pets (our current 3 and others we’ve had over the years she has also cared for), we can enjoy our vacations without worry of whether they are being taken care of — we know they are.

Chelsea was kind enough to take our last minute request to catsit our family of furbabies which we greatly appreciated! She was very communicative throughout, including the meet and greet and the actual catsitting. We will definitely be asking for her services in the future!

Joselin has taken care of my Shephard twice. Nala does not do well with other dogs and therefore boarding her is not an option. Joselin is absolutely wonderful with her and never fails to send me a picture during each visit. When I get home Nala is happy and safe. I could not have asked for a more dedicated pet sitter.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Westland. On Rover:
- 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
