“Evelyn was absolutely amazing! She was so patient and kind to my pup, Louie. She allowed my dog to get adjusted to her and sent constant updates to me! I am so grateful to have found Evelyn and will be asking for her help for all things Louie in the future!”

“Jennifer has watched my kitties multiple times and we all love her! When she is with them I am completely at ease and can focus my attention on the reason I am away from them. We can’t thank her enough for everything she does!”

“Corri has been our primary pet sitter for a couple of years now. She is a wonderful and caring pet sitter for our kitties. She is dependable and reliable, and we would highly recommend her!”

“I wish everyone had some like Ronda to check in on their animals. She always goes above and beyond for us, even when we need to book last minute. Thank you Rhonda!”

“Kristina is wonderful! I have a very nervous and reactive dog and Kristina came over to meet my dog before babysitting and was great with my dog. She sent lots of photos and updates during her visit to let me know how my dog was doing with her which was much appreciated. Will definitely be a repeat customer with Kristina!”

“Christina did an amazing job of bonding with my cat. It gave me enormous reassurance while I was traveling to know he was being well cared for. Thanks a million Christina. You're at the top of my list when I'm traveling in the future.”

“Our first away trip with Lynn, watching our two cats and everything went great. Really appreciated the pictures for each a.m. and p.m. visit. Hope to see you again soon Lynn. Thanks!”

“Kacie is fantastic. My cat instantly felt comfortable when she came over for the meet and greet, which eased my mind. Great communication while I was out of town. I definitely trust her and know Matty was in good hands.”

“Faith checked in on our cat while we were out of town for spring break. There was a little hiccup at the beginning but we figured it, and after that every went smoothly. Faith was very honest and accommodating which I both appreciate very much. Communication went well, and the regular picture updates showed clearly that our cat felt comfortable enough around Faith to come close engough to get petted and to play. We arrived home to a well cared for cat and home. Thank you very much. When we need a sitter again and our schedules line up, I'm booking Faith again.”

About: I have been pet sitting since I was a teenager: dogs and cats. I love to take care of them, my house is their home! I’m working part time job. I can manage to pet sitting anytime and any day. They will be spoiled, and I’ll treat them like my own! I treat all pets like or best than Luna. I won’t let the cats outdoors and for dogs I’ll give them a walk and play time if they’re energized. I follow all the requirements that I get from owners.
About: I’ve taken care of dogs for over 35 years including my own, my family’s and friends pets. All animals are drawn to me no matter the size or breed. I will treat your pet like my own. Pet care can easily fit into my daily or weekly routine, i am pretty flexible pretty much any time. And I can even be available under short notice. I have a fenced in yard at my home, I will take care of your animals like my own and provide them the best care.
About: I will treat your pet not only as my own, but give it that same respect as I would any human. I have pet sat over night, during the day, and just for a few hours and I loved every minute of it. I’m very responsible and always go over and beyond when taking care of animals, because they are more than just animals they are family. I have had two dogs in my lifetime and cared for them and gave them so much love until they sadly passed away a few years ago. I now have a cute little Terrier mix dog named Lavender! I often watch my cousins dog whenever they go out of town and my friends cat. Hopefully you will give me the chance to shower your pet with lots of love!!!! I am currently in graduate school, so my schedule is flexable enough to give your pet all the love and attention it needs and wants!! I have a big open field next to my building where I take my dog out 3-4 times a day to run around and play!!
“Bailey was brave enough to hang out and play with my giant Main Coon named Charlie. That is no small feat! She is one of the only humans that Charlie warmed up to so she obviously does well with cats! Bailey is on time and communicates very well! I’ve booked her 3 separate times and never worry about Charlie!”

About: Animals have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. Growing up, I cared for a Golden Retriever, a Husky, and a Jackapoo, giving me experience with dogs of different sizes, energy levels, and personalities. I currently have four cats of my own, so I am also very comfortable caring for cats and understanding their unique needs and behaviors. Through the years, I have gained experience with feeding schedules, daily walks, playtime, litter box maintenance, administering basic medications, and providing pets with a safe and loving environment. Friends and family have trusted me to help care for their pets while they were away, and I treat every animal as if they were my own. I understand how important it is to know your pet is in good hands. Whether your pet needs exercise, companionship, or simply someone reliable to check in on them, I am committed to providing dependable and compassionate care. I work full-time Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. On Fridays, I work from home and have flexibility throughout the day, including my lunch hour. I am available for evening walks and drop-in visits during the week, and I have open availability on weekends. I am committed to being reliable, punctual, and providing pets with the attention and care they deserve. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I always follow the owner’s instructions regarding feeding, exercise, medications, and routines. I understand that every pet has different needs and personalities, and I take the time to ensure they feel comfortable and cared for. I provide regular updates and photos so owners can have peace of mind while they’re away. As a pet owner myself, I understand the trust it takes to leave your pet in someone else’s care and will treat them as if they were my own.
“Renee was amazing with my dog, Greta. She took the time to take pictures and tell me how the time went. I felt that she was well taken care of and in good hands while I was away at my home.”

“Erica took great care of our two dogs, Winston and Ruby! She did two drop-in visits and a walk with them. She kept us updated with pictures and texts during her visits which was much appreciated. We came home to two happy and well-cared for dogs! We will definitely use Erica again in the future.”

About: Hi, my name is Cecilia and I have loved animals ever since I was young. I have owned and cared for all types of animals since I was 10 years old. This includes dogs, cats, horses, cattle, birds and other livestock. I trained horses for several years, and trained my own dog as well. I am very familiar with feeding, watering, walking, training, and cleaning animals. I’d love to walk any dogs or swing by if you need them to be let out or fed/taken care of! I am available after work most days from 3pm-8pm. Please give a day notice if possible. I am also available certain weekends. If reserving for a weekend please give 3-5 days notice if possible. Walks: I will make sure the harness is on correctly before walking. I pick up poo if provided with a doggy bag as well. I also will fill up their water dish after the walk to rehydrate. If desired, I can bring treats on the walk (owner provided) for positive reinforcement if your dog is still learning how to walk and follow commands. Drop-ins: I will check the food bowl and refill if necessary, fill the water bowl with fresh water, and watch the dog when he/she is outside at all times. I can also scoop the litter box for a cat if needed. I also offer lots of pets, scratches and attention 🥰 Both: I will be careful when locking up the house before leaving, and can bring any mail on the porch indoors when I see it. I will also return any leashes or other items to wherever they were located when I arrived. Since I only offer dog walking and drop ins, I would not expect to be responsible for an extended list of tasks like one would for overnight sitting. But I am more than willing to do whatever you need for a drop in, which includes (but not limited to): feeding, watering, walking, and brushing/cleaning. I will perform these tasks in whichever way you would prefer and/or specify.

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Westland
We are very thankful to have Lynn watch our two cats and one dog while we were on vacation. Because of her care and attention to our pets (our current 3 and others we’ve had over the years she has also cared for), we can enjoy our vacations without worry of whether they are being taken care of — we know they are.

Chelsea was kind enough to take our last minute request to catsit our family of furbabies which we greatly appreciated! She was very communicative throughout, including the meet and greet and the actual catsitting. We will definitely be asking for her services in the future!

Joselin has taken care of my Shephard twice. Nala does not do well with other dogs and therefore boarding her is not an option. Joselin is absolutely wonderful with her and never fails to send me a picture during each visit. When I get home Nala is happy and safe. I could not have asked for a more dedicated pet sitter.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Westland. On Rover:
- 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
