“Layne was an excellent sitter. She was communicative, on time, and did everything exactly the way we asked. I would definitely recommend her to others and plan on booking her in the future if we're lucky!”

“Melanie is amazing! Our cat that I thought would hide from her was the first to come out! We received daily updates and photos. Our cats were the calmest and relaxed I’ve even seen them after a long trip away. We will definitely use Melanie again!”

“This was our first time using a drop-in sitter for George, so we were pretty nervous to say the least. Celia, however, instantly eased our worries from her very first visit. There’s only one word to describe her: amazing! We’ll be booking Celia every time we come into town. Thank you, Celia”

“Elizabeth watched our cat for the second time recently. Both times she was responsive, responsible and took great care of Ciji. I appreciated the photos she sent so I could see how Ciji was doing. We unexpectedly needed to extend our trip and Elizabeth graciously helped us out of a tight spot. We came home to a healthy, happy kitty.”

“Emily was awesome to work with. Leaving our cats alone for the first time, we were nervous. But Emily took great care of them and went above and beyond. We highly recommend Emily and will definitely use her services in the future.”

“Jenny was fabulous with taking care of my 7 year old brothers. She took the time to play with them and ensure they were thriving while I was at my daughter's wedding in Key West, FL. I highly recommend her.”

About: I’ve had both dogs and cats my entire life, so caring for animals comes naturally to me. What sets me apart is my ability to balance active, engaging care with a calm and patient approach. Whether your pet loves long walks, a good game of fetch, or simply relaxing and feeling safe, I adapt to their personality and needs. I’m especially comfortable working with elderly pets and those with medical needs. I understand the importance of routine, gentle handling, and close attention to detail when it comes to medications, mobility limitations, or simply providing a quieter, low-stress environment. I take pride in making sure every pet feels comfortable, supported, and cared for at their own pace. I treat every pet like they’re my own—paying attention to the little things, keeping you updated, and making sure they feel safe, happy, and loved while you’re away. Pet care fits naturally into my weekly routine, and I make sure to plan my availability so I can give your pet the time and attention they deserve. I work Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 7 AM to 5 PM, Tuesdays from 8 AM to 1 PM, and Fridays from 8 AM to 2 PM. Outside of those hours, I’m available for visits, walks, and check-ins. My weekends are very flexible, allowing me to provide more extended care, drop-ins, or multiple visits as needed. I’m especially happy to help with dog walking, whether it’s part of your pet’s daily routine or if you just need an extra hand. If getting your dog out for a walk has become difficult, I’m more than willing to step in and make sure they still get the exercise, fresh air, and attention they need. I aim to be reliable, flexible, and accommodating so your pet’s care fits seamlessly into both of our schedules. When caring for pets in their own homes, my goal is to keep their routine as normal and stress-free as possible. I know how important it is for pets to stay in a familiar environment, so I take the time to follow your instructions closely, whether that’s feeding schedules, walk routines, medication, or favorite playtime activities. I approach every home with respect and every pet with patience. Some pets love attention and play, while others prefer a calm, quiet presence, and I’m very comfortable adjusting to both. I make sure your pet feels safe, cared for, and comfortable while you’re away. I also keep you updated with regular check-ins so you can feel confident knowing your pet (and your home) are in good hands. My goal is to provide dependable, thoughtful care that gives you peace of mind and keeps your pet happy in the place they know best.
“This is my first time using Rover. I was nervous, but pleasantly surprised. Lynn took excellent care of my cat in my home. I could tell Callie appreciated the attention Lynn gave her, especially in the photos Lynn posted. I will definitely use Rover (and Lynn) again.”

About: I’ve grown up around animals my whole life, caring for four dogs and a cat, so being around pets has always been second nature to me. I understand how important it is to find someone you can trust with your dog, whether it’s for a walk, check-in, or overnight care. I’m reliable, patient, and genuinely enjoy spending time with animals of all sizes and personalities. My goal is to make sure your pet feels safe, comfortable, and cared for while you’re away, and to give you peace of mind knowing they’re in good hands. I am home for the summer and have availability up to August. I will be working part time and will have plenty of time to take care of your pets! I have a friendly 6 year old dog at home with many toys beds and crates. i am experienced, as i’ve been pet sitting for the past two years and grew up with 5 pets.
About: Not only have I been a dog parent for 10 years, but I've been entrusted by friends and neighbors to walk and care for their pets when the need arises. I'm a stay at home mom who substitute teaches at my children's school. I choose my own schedule so I find myself available for pet care at those random times that pets need attention. I'm happy to walk your pets, play with them in your backyard, play with them indoors, feed them if needed. I completely understand that each animal has a specific way they like things done (myself having two very particular poodles) and can accommodate special requests.

“Lillian took care of our two cats and our dog while we went on a spring break road trip. She provided all of the care requested and send us lots of pictures throughout the week. We are grateful for her reliable and quality care. Highly recommend!”

About: I have loved and cared for animals my entire life. Growing up in a pet-friendly household, I learned from a very young age what it takes to keep dogs and cats healthy, safe, and happy. Over the years, family, friends, and neighbors have consistently relied on me to watch their homes and care for their pets while they are away. I have hands-on experience with a wide variety of breeds and personalities—from high-energy pups who need long, engaging walks, to senior pets who require a gentle touch and strict adherence to a medication routine. Because I am focusing entirely on building my Rover business right now, your pet will have my dedicated attention. I pride myself on being incredibly reliable, clean, and communicative. I know how tough it can be to leave your pets behind, so I love sending frequent photo and text updates to give you total peace of mind! My schedule is highly flexible and open throughout the week! Because I work independently on a flexible basis, pet care is my top priority. I am available for overnight house sitting, daytime walks, and drop-in visits. This open availability means I can easily adapt to your pet's exact feeding, potty, and exercise routines without having to rush off to a strict 9-to-5 job. As someone who has loved and cared for animals my entire life, your pet's safety and comfort are always my highest priorities. When staying at your home, I strictly follow your house rules and routine guidelines. I am incredibly respectful of your space, keeping it clean and secure. I also understand how important communication is, so I make sure to send regular text updates and photos so you always know your pet is safe, happy, and in great hands.
“Very conscientious and a pet lover. Even held one of my guinea pigs. Spent sufficient time giving affection and playing my very lonely attention-starved cats as well. Report cards were detailed and photos are adorable. Highly recommended.”

“Evelyn has been great with my cats. She is responsible and attentive and communicates well. This is the second time she has helped me and I will continue to use her in the future.”

“Hannah was fantastic with my puppy Freddie!! She accommodated a last minute request with flexibility and ease. She kept me well updated, sent photos, and it was clear that Freddie loved spending the day with her. Would absolutely rebook in the future!!”

About: - I’ve been employed at a veterinary hospital for a few years and I am trained to take care of all types of animals - Trained to administer medication of all kinds (injections, oral syringes, manually pilling, etc.) - Trained to evaluate new dogs to see if they are good to play in larger settings with 30+ dogs - Very patient with animals of all temperaments - All I want is for you and your pets to be happy and comfortable :) I work on a rotating bi weekly schedule, meaning some weeks I work 6/7 days and other weeks I am in 4/7 days. I don’t do anything outside of work so getting back to the animals/ taking breaks to see them throughout work is expected on my end and will not be an issue. I have a fenced in yard at my aunts house where I live with her and her Jack Russell Pug who is shy, but good with other dogs. I have an open yard at my parents home (Schwenksville PA) with lots of room to run and play under supervision. I also have a Staffordshire Terrier at my parents house who loves to run and play with other dogs while being supervised.

Dario and Vanessa are simply the best! They have taken such wonderful care of our kitty and made sure she’s happy at all times. They keep us updated on everything and send us photos during every visit, which gives us so much peace of mind and makes us so happy because we know she’s well cared for and truly happy. Without a doubt, we’ll continue to ask them to take care of Matilda whenever we’re traveling. ✨🩷

Nicole did an amazing job taking care of my cat Goose over the weekend with her drop-in visits! She was reliable, kind, and made sure everything was taken care of so I didn’t have to worry while I was away. I could tell she truly cared, and it gave me so much peace of mind knowing he was in good hands. I’d definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a sitter and will be booking her again in the future! Thanks Nicole!

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
