“Fatima went above and beyond while caring for our cat. Her visit cards were always very thorough, she included great photos, and it was clear our cat loved having her around. Would rebook with Fatima in a heartbeat!”

“My experience with Jessi was perfect! My shy cats actually came out from under the bed for her. She left super informative feedback and accommodated all my requests! She was super sweet and kind. I will definitely rebook with her soon!”

“Janice is probably the most caring sitter I’ve ever met. She cared for each one of my 5 pups like her own. I’m probably only going to be booking with her exclusively from now own. Thanks so much, Janice!! You’re awesome!!”

“Ivy did a great job watching my dog Porter. He is a large dog who is afraid of everything, so he can be a challenge to watch. Ivy quickly made friends with him, and she took care of him while we were away for the holiday. She sent some amazing pictures and went above and beyond to make sure he was well cared for.”

“Ava met Riley for an initial meet and greet last week, and then we scheduled this appointment for her to start learning his routine. She was great and even administered some of his medications! He really took a liking to her. She is a natural with animals. We look forward to working with her in the coming weeks in preparation for an upcoming trip that she will be watching Riley during.”

“Lillian was responsive and provided regular updates on my kitties. She followed the directions I provided and gave my difficult kitty the space he needed. She stuck to a regular schedule every day, which was appreciated since one of the cats needs medication. Overall, she provided excellent care and I'd book her again next time I need a sitter.”

About: Have enjoyed having pets around my entire life. Would love an opportunity to spend time with your furry family member when you are not available. I am retired therefore I’m currently available any day or evening for an opportunity to help you out by keeping your pets healthy and happy. Looking forward to spending time with your dog either in their happy home or while out for some exercise. Would never pass up an opportunity to say hello and give a little belly rub to a furry friend.

“My dog is a bit of a challenge. He is really timid, and it takes him time to get used to people. Rani won him over quickly and took good care of him. Her communication was great, and she gave a lot of details about each of her visits. I would highly recommend her for your pet sitting needs.”

“The most wonderful experience with Rover I’ve ever had - it was truly a blessing finding Christine. I almost feel hesitant to leave this review, only because I don’t want her to be too busy with other clients so I can keep her for myself ? LOL! From the bottom of my heart, I can express nothing but the truest gratitude for how well Christine cared for my two dogs and cat. She sent me pictures and descriptions of each drop-in visit, and even went as far as cleaning up their anxiety- driven diarrhea mess from the carpet and taking our garbage to the curb. If you’re looking for someone to truly care for your animals, this woman is the real deal and I honestly cannot recommend her enough! Thank you beyond words, Christine, for loving our babies as your own.”

“Sean took excellent care of our cat! He was very thorough and was good with providing video/photo updates. He was great with communicating as well. Strongly recommend!!”

“As an owner of an angry cat, a quiet cat, and an outgoing cat, I was worried that they would be a handful. Luckily, they loved Taylor (even the angriest older cat), and everything was great. Thank you Taylor!”

About: I’ve grown up with three high energy dogs—two Vizslas and one Weimaraner—which gave me hands on experience caring for dogs from puppyhood through their senior years. Through this, I’ve also become comfortable working with anxious and reactive dogs. I pride myself on being reliable, consistent, and always on time. I treat every pet like my own by being patient, attentive, and making sure all of their needs are met. I am very flexible but am looking to care for your pet in the mornings or afternoons. I am most available during the week and on occasional weekends. I am very detail-oriented and attentive to care needs such as feeding routines, bathroom schedules, and walk timing. Owning a Vizsla, a high-energy and high-maintenance breed, has taught me to be consistent, responsible, and highly observant. I am very active, so I am comfortable with long walks and meeting the exercise needs of energetic dogs. I also have experience with playtime, keeping pets safe and secure, monitoring interactions with other dogs, and providing regular updates to owners to ensure clear communication.
“Jennifer is very sweet, considerate, respectful, and communicative. She took wonderful care of my cats while I was out of town. She did everything I asked and sent helpful notes and adorable pictures! I will absolutely hire her again and highly recommend you do too!”
“Jackie did excellent making sure our boys weren't too lonely while we were gone! For a first time rover user I am pleased Jackie was able to keep watch over our kitties for us and provide us with updates.”

“We finally found our kitty sitter! Natasha is the best! We just came home from a 5-day trip to a healthy, happy, and well-groomed kitty! Natasha was consistent in her daily visits and care for our little Eddie. She is also a fabulous kitty photographer! We received several pictures daily and that made us so much more at ease having to leave Eddie in someone else’s care for several days. We’re already planning to book with Natasha for our next trip in May. Thank you for doing such an incredible job, Natasha!”

About: I have two cats and grew up with many animals including dogs, bunnies, reptiles, insects, and fish. My cats have had numerous health issues and I’m comfortable administering medications or doing special care with tough babies! I also worked in an animal research lab where we managed care for farm animals around the clock. I am a graduate student, so my schedule is fairly flexible. Taking care of pets helps me take a break and helps you ensure your pet is getting what they need while you are gone! I have two cats at home, so I am not able to care for other cats, dogs, or pets in my home at this time unfortunately.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
