“We felt very comfortable with Jessi! Our first time booking her, and she took excellent care of our dog. Quick to communicate and sent detailed updates, which was much appreciated!”

“Gabrielle was awesome with my cats! She's an excellent communicator, sending me notes and photos after each video, and she was observant and creative in meeting their needs. At the end of a two-day trip, she was able to earn the trust and cuddles of both boys. I look forward to hiring her again!”

“My dog is a bit of a challenge. He is really timid, and it takes him time to get used to people. Rani won him over quickly and took good care of him. Her communication was great, and she gave a lot of details about each of her visits. I would highly recommend her for your pet sitting needs.”

“Natasha is wonderful because she is very attuned to my (semi?-feral) cat's (with FLUTD, a medical condition that means poor diet and low water could kill him) needs! I trust and feel secure leaving him in her hands and I'm really grateful for her patience and professionalism!”

“Kelly was just fantastic and did a great job taking care of our cat Raven! This was our third time using her and we’ll definitely use her again! We’re so very happy and grateful that we found Kelly to take such great care of our precious baby Raven! She really loves her!❤️”

“Jennifer not only braved a torrential downpour to make it to our initial meet & greet but *also* provided some excellent action shots of her and Zenon’s drop-in visit. Our girl was well taken care of and we’ll know who ask next time we want the best for her.”

“Ivy did a great job watching my dog Porter. He is a large dog who is afraid of everything, so he can be a challenge to watch. Ivy quickly made friends with him, and she took care of him while we were away for the holiday. She sent some amazing pictures and went above and beyond to make sure he was well cared for.”

“Tristin was great with my 2 kitties. One of my kitties gets very anxious when I am away and sometimes makes messes outside the litter box. Tristin went above and beyond doing some cleaning when this happened. My cat even came out of hiding a few times when he was there. And that is saying a lot. I can not recommend Tristin enough.”

“Jennifer is very sweet, considerate, respectful, and communicative. She took wonderful care of my cats while I was out of town. She did everything I asked and sent helpful notes and adorable pictures! I will absolutely hire her again and highly recommend you do too!”
“Tera was amazing. She not only loved and took care of our babies, she also respected our home and did everything we asked and more to keep it safe while we were out. 110% recommend her!”

“Katie did an amazing job taking care of our cats while away!! She was very attentive to their needs. She was especially helpful for my elder cat, who has health issues. She made sure she received her medicine and kept me informed on how she was doing!”

“Silvia was wonderful and provided great care for my pets, including medication for my one cat. She was very communicative and responsive and made me feel confident that they were cared for well we were away.”

“Janice was absolutely incredible! I reached out to her last minute because we urgently needed someone to check our 12-year-old baby girl for the day, and she responded right away and quickly set up a meet-and-greet with Scarlet. She was so kind, patient, and understanding from the start. When she came to care for Scarlet, she brought toys and treats, sent me lots of pictures and updates, and truly went above and beyond. She even stayed outside with her while she did her business and waited with her in the cold weather. You can tell she genuinely cares about the pets she watches. I felt completely at peace knowing Scarlet was in such good hands. We will definitely be booking Janice again whenever we’re not available. Thank you so much, Janice!”

About: I've taken care of a variety of animals through out my life such as cats, dogs, geckos, and fish. I am trained on giving dogs oral medicine. I volunteer at a local animal shelter where I'm working on my Fear Free Shelter certification and Fear Free Homes certification. I am currently working a part-time job, so my schedule is pretty free. I do not mind early mornings or late evenings. I am flexible. I can drop in and visit your cat or dog. I love playing with both. I can also perform basic care like feeding, watering, cleaning litter boxes. I can also take your dog on walks.

Tristin was great with my 2 kitties. One of my kitties gets very anxious when I am away and sometimes makes messes outside the litter box. Tristin went above and beyond doing some cleaning when this happened. My cat even came out of hiding a few times when he was there. And that is saying a lot. I can not recommend Tristin enough.

She was so sweet! Easy to communicate with, took all my concerns about having a sitter very seriously and helped me feel good about leaving my buddies with her, and the buddies LOVED her! My cats are usually really antisocial, but they came out and cuddled her, and my dog was happy too.

Natasha did an excellent job caring for our kitties! It gave us a lot of peace of mind being gone for longer than we normally are. She was very communicative and responsive and gave us thorough report cards each day. I would highly recommend her for anyone looking for pet care :)

Christine saved our holiday stepping in very last minute and taking care of our two 5 month old kittens. One of them needed daily medicine and a lot of attention. She brought a calm and caring energy and was very professional and communicative. We are so grateful and would highly recommend hiring her to care for your pets!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Ypsilanti. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
