“Theresa was an amazing cat sitter for my two apprehensive and cautious kitties. She put all of my anxieties at ease with daily check ins, updates, photos, and overall mood of my girls while I was away. She was honest about their quirks and made it very clear that she was not rushing them into any contact or interactions without giving them space and time to warm up. I'm so grateful for her cat sitting services.”

“Arden as usual is THE VERY BEST! She is caring and very responsible! If you have the opportunity please book her as a sitter! She is an amazing person! My cats are very happy with her! 🤍🙏🏻”

“Taylor did such a great job with our 2 crazy furries! She updated me on their visit and sent pictures - definitely helps mom feel at ease when away ? thanks, Taylor!”

About: I’ve been around animals my whole life. I grew up on a farm, and at one point we had 12 indoor dogs, from tiny Yorkies to Great Danes. They were never “just pets” to us; they were family, and that’s how I’ve always believed animals should be treated. I’ve also cared for cats and have experience dog sitting, so I’m comfortable looking after pets with different personalities, routines, and needs. Whether your pet loves long walks, playtime, cuddles, or just having someone nearby, I’ll make sure they feel safe, loved, and well cared for while you’re away. I know how important it is to trust someone with your pet, and I’ll care for yours the same way I’d care for my own. I take classes two days a week and spend the rest of my time at home, so I have a flexible schedule and can give pets plenty of attention and care. I'm also available most weekends, making it easy to accommodate a variety of pet care needs. I always make sure pets are safe, comfortable, and well cared for by following their usual routine as closely as possible. I'll follow all feeding, medication, and exercise instructions provided by the owner and make sure they get plenty of attention, playtime, and affection. I don't have any pets of my own at the moment, so I truly enjoy spending time with animals and giving them the love and companionship they deserve. I'll also send regular updates and photos so you can have peace of mind while you're away.

“We highly recommend Sarah. She communicated with us all the time and sent photos. Most of all she was so accommodating when we ran into issues with our travel plans. We will definitely use her again if she's available”

About: Growing up i’ve always had / fostered dogs and been passionate for animals. Additionally, I have experience working at a pet store. I would love to take my love for dogs and cats and turn it into something I can help others with. I am currently attending college as a commuter but have a pretty open schedule. I am open to nightly stays or just visits and playtime with your pup or cat! I will always keep watch and make sure the dogs are satisfied. If needed I can bathe and walk them, i’ll do whatever it takes so you know they’re in good hands.
“Melanie impressed me from the start! This was the first time leaving my two kittens (5 months) over the weekend. But I felt 100% comfortable with Melanie, from our meet and greet through the end of my time away. I would recommend her for sure.”

“Madalyne did such a great job with my shy kitties! She spent time making sure they had everything they needed and even got a few to come out from hiding. That’s a big deal! I felt reassured my cats were well taken care of with her friendly cat loving personality and attention to the details of care. Arrived home to happy cats.”

“Jessica took such great care of our sweet giant dog. We so appreciate the detailed communication, the thoughtful questions and accommodating the dynamic needs of our pup. She went up and beyond, thank you!”

“Jacklyn was absolutely reliable and provided lots of photos, so we felt comfortable all the time. We will reach out to her next time we need someone to look after our cat who really enjoyed Jacklyn's visits!”

“Caili did such an awesome job checking in on my two cats! She was quick at communicating and very helpful when it came to informing me what was up, especially when my house was a little chaotic mid move.”

“Stephanie was a great cat sitter! I’m grateful that she was patient when caring for my two cats who are still getting used to each other. She was also very good about communication, both in planning the visit and letting me know how my cats were doing during the visit.”

About: Within my 20 years of vast experience with animals. I currently have three dogs of my own and have fostered dogs as well as rescued abandoned cats. I'm a certified dog groomer as well as currently working on my certification for animal massage therapy that will include dogs, cats, and horses. I currently am working full-time so as of right now I'm available 10:am - 1:pm. weekdays and after 4:30 p.m.. I always use precaution and safety measures when taking care of animals. I will follow all instructions from the owner. I currently have three dogs myself and previously have owned cats and ferrets, so I'm well aware of precautions and safety issues to prevent anything from happening.
About: I’ve been caring for dogs and cats of all breeds since I was young, and animals have always been a big part of my life. Along with caring for family pets, I previously ran a small pet-sitting business and have raised several dogs from puppyhood, giving me hands-on experience with every stage of life. My approach to care and training is rooted in patience and positive reinforcement. Creating a calm, supportive environment is important to me, and I value working with pet parents who feel the same way. I also work in the medical field and am experienced in administering medications, including injections. I understand how important it is to follow care instructions precisely, especially when it comes to health needs. I’m highly detail-oriented and committed to making sure your pet receives attentive, reliable, and loving care tailored specifically to them. I am currently studying for a board exam so am mostly working from home and have a rescue pup of my own that needs lots of walks and play time. Let us bring your buddy along on one of our hikes! I live in a house with my dog, Daisy. She loves everyone, including all types of animals, and will happily keep your pet company. I have multiple crates available if your pet should need one :)
“My two cats don't always get along, so Katelin had to put in a lot of extra effort. Finding a hiding cat in an unfamiliar home to keep them separated is not a normal sitter task. I appreciate the effort she put in to keep my babies safe and happy. Thanks Katelin.”

About: A first few things about me: 1. I've taken care of my neighbors pets ever since I was in middle school 2. I am a graduate student at MSU looking for some money on the side 3. I am very communicative over Rover with my clients I have lots of experience with big dogs and can handle pulling from them (my big Pyrenees/shepherd mix does the same). I've always had dogs in my life, and have played an active role in their care. I have been doing Rover since my time in NY undergrad, and look forward to having more clients now that I am in Michigan. I live in Holt, work in East Lansing, and spend a good chunk of time in Novi, so depending on your location I can flex as needed. One plus-I am a clean freak and will clean my repeat clients' homes while I am around so you can return to a clean space. Last minute bookings often work with me, so don't hesitate to shoot me a message. I always do meet and greets before booking for both sides' safety, and if an initial booking doesn't work out, I would love to meet for future care coverage. I run frequently, so if your dog has a lot of energy, I'm your gal. I will be doing research during the week on campus, but I am willing to be flexible and see what works according to client needs. I can travel to give walks given that I have my car here, and can go home during lunch on weekdays for potty breaks. I currently live in a house with a fenced in yard and can welcome your pet in or go to yours to take care of them. I always positively enforce my dog at home to make him feel safe, as he is a rescue that needs extra care considering he has some trauma.
The median cost per visit for cat sitting in Novi is $20

Becky was Wonderful! If I could give her more than 5 Stars I absolutely would. From the moment I met her I was instantly comfortable. My cat, who usually hides from most everyone, came to greet her almost immediately which completely put me at ease. The whole time we were gone on our trip Becky stayed in touch, sent pictures and gave us updates. She even brought in our mail, any packages that were delivered and put our outdoor trash can away after trash day. More importantly she was amazing with our very picky cat. And, she left some toys as a little gift for our cat which was such a nice surprise to us! I very HIGHLY recommend booking Becky for your pet care!! Thank you so much Becky! We will definitely be booking you again for our next trip! :)

Ian was absolutely wonderful with my cat! He came to the house every single day, took the time to play and engage with kitty, and kept me completely in the loop. His communication was stellar from start to finish. It gave me total peace of mind knowing my timid cat was in such caring, reliable hands. I will definitely be booking him again!

I had a great experience with Stephanie. This was my first time leaving my cat alone for several days, and I was understandably nervous, but she did an excellent job and quickly put me at ease. She was reliable, communicative, and very attentive to Bagel’s needs. She made sure he was eating, drinking, and using the litter normally, and she took the time to observe his behavior rather than forcing interaction. Bagel is a cautious cat, but he became more comfortable over the course of the visits. I really appreciated the updates and knowing that Bagel was calm, safe, and well cared for in his own home. I wouldn’t hesitate to book with her again and would highly recommend her, especially for shy or sensitive pets.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Novi. On Rover:

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
