About: Dogs have always been in the family since I was 8 and my dog’s name is Riley. He’s a German shepherd mix. He’s been my running buddy for years. I like to go on walks and runs and would love bring some buddies along with me! I can also bring any dogs that require a bit more exercise to the dog park for some runs. I have fenced yard with plenty of space for runs and a ranch style home for any older pups who don’t like to climb stairs.

About: We have been life long animal lovers - raising a combined 30+ animals (both domestic and farm). We recently lost our 2 dogs, after raising them from puppies and cherishing every moment! Now with our kids, we've decided the best way to fill our hearts is by helping care for other families' beloved pets. With years of hands-on experience (and the added insight of having a father who's a large & small animal veterinarian), we bring both loving care & extra peace of mind to every walk, play session, and cuddle. We have two adults who work full-time from home, so our availability and presence within the house is very flexible. Our children are school aged (Kindergarten & 1st Grade) so they are home during non-school hours. The largest animals we have owned are Rottweilers down to most recently a Pomeranian, so experience in safety is vast! We have a fully fenced in yard (or fenced in deck if your animal prefers to be off the grass) - both offer plenty of shade for potty breaks outside. We have a dedicated dog room for safe sleep and rest - which is on the same floor as our normal living area and primary bedroom. We definitely consider pets & animals to be an extension of family and are treated as so - with attention and free roam of the home and furniture.
“Merritt stepped in last minute to watch Cricket and took such good care of her! They gave Cricket her meds and checked her water and litter daily while giving her lots of love and snugs. Merritt’s reports on Cricket were incredibly thorough which set our minds at ease. Will use Merritt again for any trip we take, for sure!”

“Andrew and Holly do such a great job keeping us updated on how our dog is doing while we're away and send such great pictures too! Our dog doesn't usually eat much when we're away, but he did this trip and I attribute that to Andrew and Holly truly putting him at ease - no easy task with our anxious dog! They are truly excellent pet sitters.”

“Charles was great and God sent. I made a last min request for a drop in visit and had never use Rover. Charles was open to a meet and greet same day and Tya absolutely loved him at first meet. The connection was made and my heart was settled. Looking forward to future services from Charles!”

About: I’ve been caring for dogs and cats of all breeds since I was young, and animals have always been a big part of my life. Along with caring for family pets, I previously ran a small pet-sitting business and have raised several dogs from puppyhood, giving me hands-on experience with every stage of life. My approach to care and training is rooted in patience and positive reinforcement. Creating a calm, supportive environment is important to me, and I value working with pet parents who feel the same way. I also work in the medical field and am experienced in administering medications, including injections. I understand how important it is to follow care instructions precisely, especially when it comes to health needs. I’m highly detail-oriented and committed to making sure your pet receives attentive, reliable, and loving care tailored specifically to them. I am currently studying for a board exam so am mostly working from home and have a rescue pup of my own that needs lots of walks and play time. Let us bring your buddy along on one of our hikes! I live in a house with my dog, Daisy. She loves everyone, including all types of animals, and will happily keep your pet company. I have multiple crates available if your pet should need one :)
About: I have 2 years of hands-on experience caring for dogs of different breeds, sizes, and personalities. I’m comfortable with walking, feeding, playtime, and basic training for puppies, as well as gentle care for senior dogs. I always focus on safety, patience, and making pets feel comfortable and loved while their owners are away. I’m also reliable, attentive to instructions, and happy to send updates so you know your pet is in good hands. I have a flexible schedule that allows me to give pets plenty of attention throughout the day. Since I already care for my own two dogs, pet care is a natural part of my daily routine. I’m available on weekdays and weekends, and I can adjust my schedule to meet your pet’s needs, including walks, feeding, and playtime. I have one friendly dog, well-socialized dogs, so I’m very experienced in handling different personalities and keeping pets safe and comfortable. I used to have two dogs but now one. My home is clean and pet-friendly, and I always supervise interactions to make sure everyone gets along. I can follow any specific instructions, including crating if needed, and I prioritize a calm, safe, and loving environment at all times.

“Arden did an awesome job watching my cats for me while I was on vacation. She was very communicative each drop-in, and my cats warmed up to her and were excited to see her! Would definitely hire Arden again the next time I need a pet sitter.”

“Melanie is amazing!! She was so sweet to help us out of a bind at the last minute, and absolutely wonderful with our puppies! She is sweet and thoughtful and we highly recommend her.”

“Becky did a fantastic job checking in on our cats! She did exactly what we needed and treated our pets very well! She is great to work with, is very personable, and communicates quickly. Will definitely book again!”

“We highly recommend Sarah. She communicated with us all the time and sent photos. Most of all she was so accommodating when we ran into issues with our travel plans. We will definitely use her again if she's available”

About: I am very hard working and a huge animal lover. I have been in the caregiving profession for years. I had owned two dogs and taken care of them myself. I have volunteered at an animal shelter and loved every minute of it. I am very positive, loving and dedicated person. Care giving for animals and people is a personal love of mine. I have a very open schedule and am extremely flexible with hours. Any request, big or small, is never out of the question. I am extremely thorough and thoughtful when it comes to any task needing to be done. I will do anything for customer and animal satisfactory! I am currently on leave for work because I had suffered from a back injury and am still recovering. So for the time being, I am very available! I have experienced dog sitting and cat sitting in homes over days and over nights, treating the house with great respect, as well as their animals being my number one priority. I treat the home as I would like my own to be! Left in spotless condition and with love and care.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Novi
Charles was great and God sent. I made a last min request for a drop in visit and had never use Rover. Charles was open to a meet and greet same day and Tya absolutely loved him at first meet. The connection was made and my heart was settled. Looking forward to future services from Charles!

I had a great experience with Stephanie. This was my first time leaving my cat alone for several days, and I was understandably nervous, but she did an excellent job and quickly put me at ease. She was reliable, communicative, and very attentive to Bagel’s needs. She made sure he was eating, drinking, and using the litter normally, and she took the time to observe his behavior rather than forcing interaction. Bagel is a cautious cat, but he became more comfortable over the course of the visits. I really appreciated the updates and knowing that Bagel was calm, safe, and well cared for in his own home. I wouldn’t hesitate to book with her again and would highly recommend her, especially for shy or sensitive pets.

Whether you’re at the office for the day or traveling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer potty breaks during a Novi stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Novi. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
