About: Dogs have always been in the family since I was 8 and my dog’s name is Riley. He’s a German shepherd mix. He’s been my running buddy for years. I like to go on walks and runs and would love bring some buddies along with me! I can also bring any dogs that require a bit more exercise to the dog park for some runs. I have fenced yard with plenty of space for runs and a ranch style home for any older pups who don’t like to climb stairs.
“Jessica was amazing, responded straight away and was very responsible, she took great care of Gizmo and went above and beyond of what was asked, I would definitely recommend her and will be using her again in the future. Thank you Jessica, so glad I found you 😁 Mandy B”
“As always, Heather is reliable and wonderful. We travel many weekends for kids' activities, but we never worry about our pets because we know we can count on her to take excellent care of them!”

About: I have 2 years of hands-on experience caring for dogs of different breeds, sizes, and personalities. I’m comfortable with walking, feeding, playtime, and basic training for puppies, as well as gentle care for senior dogs. I always focus on safety, patience, and making pets feel comfortable and loved while their owners are away. I’m also reliable, attentive to instructions, and happy to send updates so you know your pet is in good hands. I have a flexible schedule that allows me to give pets plenty of attention throughout the day. Since I already care for my own two dogs, pet care is a natural part of my daily routine. I’m available on weekdays and weekends, and I can adjust my schedule to meet your pet’s needs, including walks, feeding, and playtime. I have one friendly dog, well-socialized dogs, so I’m very experienced in handling different personalities and keeping pets safe and comfortable. I used to have two dogs but now one. My home is clean and pet-friendly, and I always supervise interactions to make sure everyone gets along. I can follow any specific instructions, including crating if needed, and I prioritize a calm, safe, and loving environment at all times.

“Kelsey was amazing! She took such good care of Rico, shared pictures, and gave him lots of snuggles. We lost power at our house while we were away, and not only did Kelsey keep us updated on the temperature and make sure Rico was comfortable - she even reported the outage on our behalf! We will definitely contact her for future dog sitting needs and would absolutely recommend her to anyone else. Thank you, Kelsey!”

“Thank you so much for taking great care of my little babies! We really really appreciate you! Look forward to hiring you for future vacations! Thanks again!”

About: I've grown up in a compassionate and animal-loving family. Since I was six years old, I volunteered at cat and dog shelters, gaining experience walking, feeding, and cleaning up after rescued animals. I have experience with pets of all ages, having raised both puppies and kittens. I make time each day for feeding, fresh water, walks, exercise, playtime, and plenty of attention. I also stay on top of any special needs, such as administering medications, following feeding schedules, or reinforcing training routines. My schedule is flexible enough to provide consistent care throughout the week, including weekends when needed, and I enjoy spending quality time with pets to help them feel comfortable and cared for while their owners are away. I care for every pet as if they were my own and tailor my approach to their individual needs and routine. In my clients' homes, I follow all care instructions closely, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, medication administration if needed, and maintaining the pet's normal routine to help them feel comfortable and secure. I also provide regular updates, photos, and communication so owners know how their pets are doing. When caring for pets in my home, I provide a safe, clean, and comfortable environment with plenty of attention, exercise, and affection. Pets receive regular potty breaks, supervised playtime, and a consistent routine that matches their needs as closely as possible. My goal is to ensure every pet feels happy, safe, and loved while their family is away.

“We were leaving our two cats home for the longest trip we've had in over two years and were pretty nervous about it, but Emily was great and her check ins and pictures really helped ease our anxiety. I don't think we could have fully enjoyed our vacation without her help and we'll definitely be booking again in the future!”

About: My family has done dog sitting and dog walking jobs for the past 5 years, I have stepped up when my parents have been unavailable to take care of others dogs and cats. This includes walking, playing, overnight stays, administering simple medicines in food, and cleaning up their messes of all kinds. I have owned family dogs since I was born and have been contributing to their care since I was 10. I currently work 2 part-time jobs as a lifeguard, with shifts being anywhere from 2-6 hours long. I work both in Northville and Ann Arbor and I’m happy to dogsit in either location! I understand the potential dangers of common things in homes for animals, such as poisons and injuries. I make effort to avoid any potential hazards, and keep your pets safe and happy!

“Jennifer is absolutely amazing! She watched my elderly cat years ago and did such a wonderful job that I knew I wanted her to watch our new kittens! She is always so kind and gives such love to our animals!”

“My first time using Rover. Have a Corgi and Havanese and needed someone to let them out once a day during the work week, a reoccurring schedule.Andrew responded quickly to set up a meet and greet. MEET & GREET - The Havanese is more hesitant and nervous. As soon as Andrew came through the door she was right there at his legs. We went outside with the dogs where we spoke about Rover and he interacted with both dogs. They were surrounding and running around for him to play. We eventually came back inside. We sat in family room and both dogs were still wanting to play with him. The Havanese was on his lap and ready to give kisses. ONE WEEK of SERVICE - more than I expected. Andrew always on time, fed them, always commented on what ladies did during potty break, cleaned up after them and he played with them. He calls them furry tornadoes. I laugh as they are busy bodies. I am VERY happy with my experiences with Andrew. I feel fortunate to have him for the ongoing weekly occurrences.”

Lauren is the best! She has watched my cats twice now and has done a wonderful job each time. She takes the time to play with them and make sure they are happy while we are gone. She is great with communication and my boys are very comfortable with her when she visits!
Charles was great and God sent. I made a last min request for a drop in visit and had never use Rover. Charles was open to a meet and greet same day and Tya absolutely loved him at first meet. The connection was made and my heart was settled. Looking forward to future services from Charles!

I had a great experience with Stephanie. This was my first time leaving my cat alone for several days, and I was understandably nervous, but she did an excellent job and quickly put me at ease. She was reliable, communicative, and very attentive to Bagel’s needs. She made sure he was eating, drinking, and using the litter normally, and she took the time to observe his behavior rather than forcing interaction. Bagel is a cautious cat, but he became more comfortable over the course of the visits. I really appreciated the updates and knowing that Bagel was calm, safe, and well cared for in his own home. I wouldn’t hesitate to book with her again and would highly recommend her, especially for shy or sensitive pets.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
