“I found Charles after person backed out just days before my trip. Charles was quick to respond, schedule a meet and greet. Immediately all 3 dogs liked him. He showed up, cleaned up after them and even had some extra time open up and asked if I needed him for extra visit.”

“Vanessa and Dario are incredible! They have so much love for my pup and left thorough reports of each visit with pictures as well. Will definitely rebook with them and I am happy to have found such a great couple to care for my pet!”

“We were leaving our two cats home for the longest trip we've had in over two years and were pretty nervous about it, but Emily was great and her check ins and pictures really helped ease our anxiety. I don't think we could have fully enjoyed our vacation without her help and we'll definitely be booking again in the future!”

“Jessica was amazing, responded straight away and was very responsible, she took great care of Gizmo and went above and beyond of what was asked, I would definitely recommend her and will be using her again in the future. Thank you Jessica, so glad I found you 😁 Mandy B”
“Abbey was the best pet sitter I have ever had, she went above and beyond and we are so grateful to have found someone we will want to hire each time we are out of town! Her communication and care is excellent.”

“Hannah was great with my two cats! One of my cats can be a bit shy, but Hannah charmed him very quickly. She was consistent, and I felt very comfortable, leaving them in her care. Great job.”

About: My family has done dog sitting and dog walking jobs for the past 5 years, I have stepped up when my parents have been unavailable to take care of others dogs and cats. This includes walking, playing, overnight stays, administering simple medicines in food, and cleaning up their messes of all kinds. I have owned family dogs since I was born and have been contributing to their care since I was 10. I currently work 2 part-time jobs as a lifeguard, with shifts being anywhere from 2-6 hours long. I work both in Northville and Ann Arbor and I’m happy to dogsit in either location! I understand the potential dangers of common things in homes for animals, such as poisons and injuries. I make effort to avoid any potential hazards, and keep your pets safe and happy!
About: Growing up with a pup in a highly active family, I have over 5 years of experience hiking, biking, and running with dogs! Long walks and dogs with high activity needs are my specialty, though I have also been approached by friends and peers to walk, sit, and care for a variety of pets with varying needs. From sitting multiple cats, to rats, to elderly dogs, I have a wide range of experience, and am dedicated to customizing to your pet's needs. As a college student currently on summer break, I have a very open schedule with room available to cater to your specific needs. A majority of the work I do is online or portable, so you can guarantee that your pet receives the time and care they deserve! I have experience with dogs of all activity styles, and am quick to adapt to the specific needs of your pet. Safety and well-being are top priorities, so I am sure to stay on top of your pet's eating, sleeping, and playing habits! I am attentive to your pet's environment, maintaining cleanliness and safety at all times.

“Tricia did a really good job taking care of my puppies Jax and Niko . They look really happy and enjoyed. She send me a lot of pictures of the puppies every day made me comfortable to feel that that they are in good hands.”

“As always, Heather is reliable and wonderful. We travel many weekends for kids' activities, but we never worry about our pets because we know we can count on her to take excellent care of them!”

“This was our first time using a drop-in sitter for George, so we were pretty nervous to say the least. Celia, however, instantly eased our worries from her very first visit. There’s only one word to describe her: amazing! We’ll be booking Celia every time we come into town. Thank you, Celia”

About: Dogs have always been in the family since I was 8 and my dog’s name is Riley. He’s a German shepherd mix. He’s been my running buddy for years. I like to go on walks and runs and would love bring some buddies along with me! I can also bring any dogs that require a bit more exercise to the dog park for some runs. I have fenced yard with plenty of space for runs and a ranch style home for any older pups who don’t like to climb stairs.

“Kelsey was amazing! She took such good care of Rico, shared pictures, and gave him lots of snuggles. We lost power at our house while we were away, and not only did Kelsey keep us updated on the temperature and make sure Rico was comfortable - she even reported the outage on our behalf! We will definitely contact her for future dog sitting needs and would absolutely recommend her to anyone else. Thank you, Kelsey!”

“Merritt did an amazing job caring for my 2 cats! She made sure not only that they had fresh water, food and litter but also ensured the space remained tidy and spent extra time playing and giving them lots of love while I was gone. She consistently went above and beyond on communication daily, making sure to send photos, ask questions and respond promptly to my random anxious messages as it was hard to be apart from my girls! Highly recommend Merritt if you are looking for someone who not only provides excellent care but goes above and beyond!”

“Jim was great with my Staffi and I’m looking forward to future drop in visits for Kaisy. Really appreciated his availability and the time he spent during his introduction greetings with Kaisy & I especially during the holiday season.”

Lauren and Ian were perfect. They came every day on time and followed the care instructions perfectly. I have a hiding kitty and they communicated well about him and gave lots of love and play to my other cat. They even brought in our mail and boxes daily. Would definitely recommend and hire again in the future!

Darío and Vanessa are absolutely amazing! Matilda loves them, and we couldn’t ask for better pet sitters. They always keep us updated on how she’s doing, send us lots of photos, and make sure we know she’s happy and well cared for. Their communication gives us complete peace of mind while we’re away. We truly appreciate everything they do, and we will definitely continue trusting them to care for Matilda whenever we travel. Highly recommended!

We lost power at our house while we were away, and not only did Kelsey keep us updated on the temperature and make sure Rico was comfortable - she even reported the outage on our behalf! We will definitely contact her for future dog sitting needs and would absolutely recommend her to anyone else. Thank you, Kelsey!

I had a great experience with Stephanie. This was my first time leaving my cat alone for several days, and I was understandably nervous, but she did an excellent job and quickly put me at ease. She was reliable, communicative, and very attentive to Bagel’s needs. She made sure he was eating, drinking, and using the litter normally, and she took the time to observe his behavior rather than forcing interaction. Bagel is a cautious cat, but he became more comfortable over the course of the visits. I really appreciated the updates and knowing that Bagel was calm, safe, and well cared for in his own home. I wouldn’t hesitate to book with her again and would highly recommend her, especially for shy or sensitive pets.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
