“I cannot say enough good things about Barb. I did not have a care or a worry about my cat or my house while I was away. I knew everything was in great hands with Barb. Having peace of mind while away is not always possible. But Barb provided that, which is priceless. Yet beyond all of that, my cat adored Barb. He loved her calm and gentle nature and I could tell from the videos and pictures Barb shared, that he felt safe and nurtured around her.”

About: I was born and raised as an animal person. There was rarely a time when my family was without a pet of some sort, from dogs and cats to gerbils, rabbits, lizards and hermit crabs. So naturally when I married a fellow animal lover who worked at a dog kennel for 9+ years as a teenager, we decided to get a dog...and then some chickens...and 4 goats...and another dog...and 3 cats. Anyway, now we own a small hobby farm in Salem Twp and are raising two little girls who are also animal lovers. Being a livestock owner means that I deal with a lot of random weird and gross things on a daily basis, so I'm not afraid to get my hands dirty. I just want to give your beloved pet the love they deserve when you're away from home, because that's exactly what I want for my animals when I'm gone. I have two elementary aged kids so I'm available during the school day. I work a few hours a week as an early childhood class instructor but otherwise I'm just home or running errands most days. I can't offer pet sitting in my home or overnight at your home, but I'm available to come visit, feed, and walk your pets during the day. I may be able to expand my schedule depending on my kids schedules, so just ask!
About: I’ve had animals my whole life and can’t imagine a home without them. I absolutely love spending time with pets—whether it’s going for walks, playing, or just giving them some extra love and attention. I’ve also volunteered at animal shelters, so I’m comfortable caring for pets with all kinds of personalities and needs. Friends and family often rely on me to look after their pets, and I always treat them like my own. I know how important it is to feel confident that your furry family member is in good hands, and I’d love to make sure they’re happy and cared for while you’re away! 🐾 I’m available after 5:00 during the week if walking is needed or a late night feeding I’m available most weekends days and nights Some Mondays I’m available earlier than 5:00 I would be comfortable caring for your pet in my home however I don’t have a fenced yard I would have to walk them if a dog to use the bathroom.

About: I'm a responsible and compassionate dog lover with prior experience watching and taking care of friends' dogs. I like to play with dogs, take them for walks, and make sure they are happy and well-cared for while their owners are away. You can be sure your dog is in capable hands because I'm trustworthy, considerate of their requirements and habits, and willing to share updates and pictures. I'm eager to expand my Rover experience and provide each dog I observe tender, individualized care. I am currently working six days a week with hours of 6-2 or 3 and will attend to your pup right after work for the rest of the day! I make sure to keep pets happy in their accustomed surroundings and adhere to their regular schedule when taking care of them at home. I'll give them lots of attention, fun, walks, toilet breaks, and fresh food and drink. In order to let the owner know that their pet is content and well-cared for, I will also adhere to any special instructions they may provide and provide frequent updates and pictures!
“Hana visited our home and cared our cats once every three-day during our overseas travels. During this periods, our home had multiple Wi-Fi and technical issues affecting our cat machines, we felt grateful Hana was able to tackle the issues, so we didn't need to request too many extra visit or worried about the cats on the other side of the globe. We are very pleased Hana was our cats sitter, and highly recommend her!!”

I am open to nightly stays or just visits and playtime with your pup or cat! I will always keep watch and make sure the dogs are satisfied. About: I am a stay-at-home mom who is an avid animal lover. I have grown up with dogs my whole life and I understand the dedication and commitment it takes to look after your pets. I will adopt your pet for the time it is with me and treat him/her as if they were my own. I am the the go to dog sitter amongst my family and friends. They refer to my house as the “Doggy Spa” when they drop them off. I love to spoil them and give endless affection to your sweet dogs. I also understand each dog has their own personality and style. “Elise was amazing with the care of our pets. She was reliable and consistent and provided pictures every visit. She went over and above with her service and loving interaction with our dog and cat. We highly recommend Elise to anyone that loves their pets and wants the best care for them while you are away.”

“My dog is a bit of a challenge. He is really timid, and it takes him time to get used to people. Rani won him over quickly and took good care of him. Her communication was great, and she gave a lot of details about each of her visits. I would highly recommend her for your pet sitting needs.”

“Absolutely loved Melissa as our sitter. Sent multiple photos a day with status updates. Made us feel extremely reassured that Maisie was being taken care of while we were away. Would definitely rebook Melissa again!”

During the school year, my availability may vary, but please feel free to message me to check if I'm available:) I read care instructions very carefully and follow all precautions. About: I've had pets since I was little and have done occasional pet sitting. I current;y care for my American Bully, Pork Chop by taking him on walks, to the dog park, and teaching him new tricks. We also like to walk on trails and around Downtown Plymouth! I currently work part-time as a nanny Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday and I am in college mostly online. I am home most of the day on Monday and Wednesday along with a decent amount on the weekends. Tuesday, Thursday, and Fridays I am home in the evenings and in the morning. While I will be caring for your pet in the morning and evening before work on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday during the day someone will be home ~90% of the time to keep the pet company! I have a very friendly dog named Pork Chop who is ~1 1/2 years old and neutered. He loves to run around and play with other dogs at the dog park! We do not have a fenced yard but, we have a tie out for quick bathroom breaks and take Pork Chop (along with potential friends) on little bathroom walks throughout the day. We go on at least one mile walk a day and frequently visit the dog park! We have lots of toys, dog beds, a crate and dogs are allowed on furniture and beds.

“Jennifer was great with our Golden retriever, Moon! He immediately liked her on a meet and greet. On the day Jennifer was watching him at our house she sent lots of photos of what Moon was doing and wrote a detailed message on how the visit went. It was nice to see Moon enjoying himself and engaged in activities. We will absolutely use Jennifer again!”

About: I’ve worked at a doggy daycare for 6 years, and though I have mostly grown in experience here, I also took classes online to learn all things dog. I’ve also worked with a certified trainer in the spring of 2023 for awhile. Although my experience falls majorly in dogs, I also have expertise with cats, weather they are my own or my clients have them. I am currently just trying to build up my clientele so please, reach out! I’m currently working part time, I have my own clients already though my own LLC. Which is JUST boarding. It works into my daily life because I have 4 dogs of my own so I know exactly how to rotate that throughout my day Although I mainly watch some dogs in clients houses. I Accept some dogs in my own. I have four amazing fun loving dogs who love to play and are used to dogs coming and going (when I watch them at my home) I also have a cat who couldn’t care less and it used to all the dogs. Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
sitters on Rover set their own , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
