“We highly recommend Sarah. She communicated with us all the time and sent photos. Most of all she was so accommodating when we ran into issues with our travel plans. We will definitely use her again if she's available”

“Discounts is at least three reviews, all A+ ! Sarahcate truly went above and beyond when dropping in and walking my very energetic two year-old Staffordshire terrier mix! If you value reliability, promptness, genuine concern, and professionalism, when considering someone to watch your pet, in my opinion, you can’t find anyone better! prompts, and reliable.”

“Theresa dropped in twice a day to care for our cat while we were on vacation for 6 days. Izzy is very shy around people he does not know but by the 3rd day he was very comfortable with Theresa. Throughout the week we looked forward to the pictures that Theresa would send us of him getting head rubs, following her around, eating and talking. Additionally she gave him fresh water, cleaned the litter box and even brought in our mail for us. She did an exceptional job and we will definitely use her again. Thanks Theresa!!!”

“Lydia is so accommodating even if we have to change check in times a bit. Plus she takes the best pictures of our pup! We look forward to when she watches our dog as we know he’s in great hands 🙂”

“Aixa was wonderful! She came through for us as a last minute request. She was so thoughtful about sending pictures and giving us updates (and even bought a new toy for the cats - they're so spoiled now ?). She truly went above and beyond and the cats enjoyed her visits. Highly recommended!!”

“Our usual sitter was unavailable so we booked with Cammi, she was great! My cats were less stressed than they normally are when we leave for a trip. I would recommend Cammi!”

About: I've taken care of various types of dogs, from pit bulls to toy poodles, and have also taken care of cats and turtles. I have experience with all essential needs including walking, feeding, and play time. I also have experience with basic grooming services such as bathing and brushing. I'm currently working part-time and have a fairly flexible schedule to fit your needs. I can be available on short notice including early mornings and late nights. I abide strictly by the pet parents instructions and rules, you know your pet best! I'm happy to play with your pup, go on leashed walks, and can crate them if needed.

“Alexi was wonderful! She and River got along great, she was on time and communicative for every visit, overall a lovely and reassuring experience that eased our minds while we were away! Plus, the pics were adorable! Highly recommend!”

About: I have had dogs in my life for many years now! I adore dogs. My family has own three goldens, one German Shepard, and one black lab! I’ve cared for them my whole life, including feeding, bathing, playing with them, working on training, etc. I work part-time until school starts in the fall. I have tons of time to see and play with your babies! I have my own form of transportation so I’m accessible at all times of the day! I will always make sure to ask questions when I’m not sure on something because I know how nerve racking it can be to leave your baby with someone you don’t know. I will also always double check any instructions to make sure I’m doing things perfectly to ensure nothing goes wrong. I am always up for playing with them and cuddling whenever they allow me to.
About: We have been life long animal lovers - raising a combined 30+ animals (both domestic and farm). We recently lost our 2 dogs, after raising them from puppies and cherishing every moment! Now with our kids, we've decided the best way to fill our hearts is by helping care for other families' beloved pets. With years of hands-on experience (and the added insight of having a father who's a large & small animal veterinarian), we bring both loving care & extra peace of mind to every walk, play session, and cuddle. We have two adults who work full-time from home, so our availability and presence within the house is very flexible. Our children are school aged (Kindergarten & 1st Grade) so they are home during non-school hours. The largest animals we have owned are Rottweilers down to most recently a Pomeranian, so experience in safety is vast! We have a fully fenced in yard (or fenced in deck if your animal prefers to be off the grass) - both offer plenty of shade for potty breaks outside. We have a dedicated dog room for safe sleep and rest - which is on the same floor as our normal living area and primary bedroom. We definitely consider pets & animals to be an extension of family and are treated as so - with attention and free roam of the home and furniture.
“Once again Lauren has come to my rescue. This time she was checking on my cat while I've been out of town and she did great. I will definitely be working with her in the future any time I can!”

“Erin was amazing! This was my first time using a sitter for my cats- she was sweet, reliable, and always answered right away. She was consistent and sent me lots of photos of my cats during her visits. I came home to happy pets! I will absolutely reach out to her again if I need someone and will recommend her to anyone I know needing a pet sitter!”

“Ramya was wonderful! She did drop in visits with my cat for the weekend. She was responsive, sent great updates with pictures, and my cat really loved her! I would absolutely book with her again.”
“Holly and Andy were AMAZING! I will absolutely be using them in the future. They provided constant updates, sent pictures and took care of my dog as if he was theirs. I couldn't have asked for a better sitter for my boy. Thank you, Holly and Andy!”
“Nicholas is amazing with my dog Killian. He is patient & kind. Nicholas pays close attention to what Killian wants & needs to make him feel comfortable with him. He is punctual & I'd great communicating with me. I highly recommend Nicholas & we will hire him again.”

About: I have had pets pretty much my entire life so I have plenty of experience, particularly with cats. My family is known as the neighbourhood pet sitters, watching dogs, cats, a hamster, and even a bearded dragon. I am a stay-at-home mom of older kids. That allows me plenty of flexibility to drop in for pet visits and dog walking as needed. Since I have my own vehicle, I can drop in easily to check on your baby (or babies). I love taking long walks, so if you have a dog who loves to walk, I am happy to go along for the ride.
The median cost per visit for pet sitting in Farmington Hills is $20
Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Farmington Hills
We had such a great experience! She took amazing care of our cats while we were away and gave us complete peace of mind. Her communication was excellent—she kept us updated with messages and photos, which we really appreciated. It was obvious she genuinely cared about our cats and treated them with so much kindness and love. We came home to happy, well-cared-for kitties, and we couldn’t have asked for a better cat sitter. We would absolutely book with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone reliable, caring, and communicative!

Sarahcate was once again absolutely fantastic! From start to finish, communication was seamless. I received regular updates, detailed Rover cards, and plenty of great photos of my dog Buddy. It gave me total peace of mind knowing Buddy was in such caring and capable hands. Truly reliable, professional, and attentive. I will absolutely be booking Sarahcate again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a top-tier walker!

This is our second time I’m using Madalyne to watch our three kitties. She watched them for three weeks while we went out of the country. Even our shy kitties warmed up to her and allowed her to actually pet them, which was amazing. She did a great job and we will definitely use her again.

Erin is a fantastic sitter for my kittens! She is friendly, knowledgeable, timely, and so good with animals. She is always quick to respond to messages and will go above and beyond to make sure you feel assured that your pets are happy and healthy. She also sent photos and videos, which I really appreciated, and left my house cleaner than I did! We can’t wait to book with Erin again!!

This was our second time having Noah take care of our Dog, Ghost. I was so impressed with Noah the first time, he is an 'Exceptional Young Man". Very caring, always in communication with us while we are away, letting us know how Ghost is doing. Noah is very punctual and really loves animals, it shows in everything he does for Ghost. Thank You, so much Noah, for taking excellent care of Ghost for a second time! BB

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Farmington Hills. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
