“My pup loved Sarah! She was very accommodating with my changing schedule and very communicative. Made my day receiving the pictures of his walks and just how overjoyed he was. Recommend Sarah to anyone who is looking for a trustworthy person who genuinely cares about your pet. 10/10!”

About: I have had pets pretty much my entire life so I have plenty of experience, particularly with cats. My family is known as the neighbourhood pet sitters, watching dogs, cats, a hamster, and even a bearded dragon. I am a stay-at-home mom of older kids. That allows me plenty of flexibility to drop in for pet visits and dog walking as needed. Since I have my own vehicle, I can drop in easily to check on your baby (or babies). I love taking long walks, so if you have a dog who loves to walk, I am happy to go along for the ride.
“Andrew was wonderful. My dog is very skiddish and afraid to be away from me. But Andrew did an excellent job of taking care of him and made sure he was always safe. I would recommend Andrew to anyone!!”

“Lauren was great. We were in a pinch and needed a walker for a week and she graciously helped us out. She communicated clearly and was great with our dog. We will be using her again in the future!”

About: I have had dogs my whole life, big and small. I often volunteer at the michigan humane society with their doggy daycare to get dogs socialized and out of the kennel for a while. I have experience with puppies, older dogs, energetic dogs, and the lazy ones! My grandma used to own a pit-bull rescue and has forever inspired me to help our four legged friends live their best life! I work full time, my schedule is not very predictable but I always know my schedule a month in advance allowing me to plan ahead, my schedule rarely changes once it is out which allows me to open up my walking availability pretty early! Although I do not offer overnight services at the moment, I have grown up in various houses with many types of yards, always with a fence, gates, and proper doggy precautions. I am always respectful of anyone space I am in by, cleaning up after myself, keeping to myself, and treating peoples homes with care.

“Awesome with Charlie, and me! Punctual, accommodating on short notice, very kind and friendly, overall just a badass. Kept her safe with my concerns, and even changed the walk to make Char more comfortable. Will def work with you again- thanks Lexi!”

I have open availability for all services on Tuesday, Wednesday and Sunday's. Caring for pets whether they're canines or felines in my home or at a client's home is very important. As always, they will have access to water at all times, receive their meals and medications (will be documented to keep track), and be loved as if they're my own. All pets will go potty regularly, spend time doing enrichment activities and go on walks to stretch their legs. Regarding our kitty friends, their litter boxes will be checked twice a day to ensure urine and bowel production, and they will receive the same care as our pups.

About: I’ve been taking care of pets for nearly 10 years now. I previously worked as a kennel technician at a local animal hospital where I cared for both cats and dogs. Because of this, I have experience with elderly cats and dogs and administering medicine. I also have been the resident cat sitter for my inner circle. I began with close friends and have now expanded to others thanks to word of mouth. I love having other cats in my home because my cat LOVES to be social. He’s very laid back, so any cats that come to my apartment should at least tolerate other cats. Additionally, I love walks and walking with dogs and have flexible hours that allow me to prioritize your fur baby. I have flexible working hours as I am an adjunct professor and substitute teacher looking for a full-time job. I would love to add kitty and pet care into the mix! I tend to care for other cats as if they’re my own. I scoop my cat's litter box every other day—your cat is free to use it, or you can bring your own if your cat would be more comfortable! My own cat eats on a schedule, so grazing isn’t ideal but we have made it work in the past. I have a cat tree as well as two window hammocks and TONS of scratchers and toys, so there are many places for cats to go for some alone time or things for them to play with. I also have a pet camera so that I can check on the cats every so often when I’m not home to make sure everyone is getting along.
“Cari is professional, timely, personable, and absolutely marvelous with our dog Jade. She knows dog behavior and has been great helping our recently adopted dog gain confidence. She picked up our job same day and has handled a full week, super important since I injured my knee and wasn’t able to do Jade’s daily walks myself.”

“Aixa was wonderful and so sweet and patient with our dog - he absolutely loved her! It was great to know my dog was well taken care of during his walks. I highly recommend her to take care of your pets.”

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
