“Jomari is amazing!!! My pup and kitty both loved her and had a wonderful time!! She was extra careful with my pup who not only has a bad back but had also just had emergency surgery two days prior. She even protected him when another dog nearby got off its leash. I can’t recommend her enough!!!”

About: Hello, I’m Rick, an experienced pet sitter dedicated to providing exceptional care for your furry family members in the comfort of their own home. I specialize in in-home house sitting because pets are always happiest and least stressed when they get to stick to their normal routines in familiar surroundings. Whether you’re heading out of town for the weekend, going on an extended vacation, or need reliable care over the holidays, I offer complete piece of mind while you’re away. I have cared for puppies all the way up to seniors. I require a smoke free home for my own health and breathing comfort. I am best suited to care for small to medium dogs, or specific breeds I know well. I am available 7 days per week, in addition to holidays. I walk pets in the morning and afternoon. Bonus if you live in Livonia because I will also stop in on lunch. Sometimes my random vacation days coincide with pet sitting as well. Currently, I do not have any pets, but when I did, I make all the time in the world for them. I have always cared for others’ little family members in their homes. The animals are more comfortable that way, and not anxious. There are a few that I care for so often, they gave me my own key to make it more convenient. If that doesn’t show an example of trust….

“Cameron did a great job while watching my two huskies. I was out of town for two days and one night and he did exactly as I asked and took great care of my girls. I look forward to using Cameron again in the future.”

“Jennifer was the best! She went above and beyond taking great care of my elderly dog Braylee (and my home) while I was out of the country for 11 days. She sent photos and updates which gave me peace of mind while traveling. She will definitely be my 1st choice to dog sit again in the future!!”

About: I have taken care of dogs for the past 6 years. Neighbors and friends have relied on me to walk and feed their pet. I currently have a 6 year old dog that thinks everyone is his friend. I work from home so it would be easy to drop in, feed, and take your pet for a walk. I do request at least couple hours notice. I do not currently do any dog boarding in my home. I would be able to drop in to check on your dog and take your pet for a walk.
“Alex did a great job watching our dog Ralphie in our home! We have never left him home with a sitter before but Alex was very responsive and communicative! She made us feel very comfortable during our time away and assured us Ralphie was safe and happy! We were able to relax and enjoy our vacation knowing he was taken care of & she sent us some photo updates which were so cute! I highly recommend booking Alex for your pet care needs.”

“I highly recommend Bea for anyone looking for a responsible, loving pet sitter. She took such great care of my dog, Wally, and sent daily updates with pictures. I came home to a happy pup and a tidy home. This is the second time my family has booked Bea and I will definitely book her again.”

About: I have been pet sitting for friends and family for years. I fostered dogs and kittens through a shelter for 2 years. I have had cats for most of my life and I had a pitbull for 5 years. I work second shift from 3pm-2am in Novi. I have an hour lunch so I can easily visit your pets on my lunch break to give them dinner or go for a walk. I will be caring for your animals in your home so we will follow your house rules. I will meet with you before you leave so we can go over everything together.

“Sarah was great. We are newer to using the service so she made it very easy. Great follow through and appreciated her flexibility. It was great to get daily updates and pictures. We would definitely recommend her and we will be also in the future. Thank you Sarah!”

“Amy was amazing with Axl. She took such great care of him and our house while we were away. Even fed the fish and watered our plants as needed. Would highly recommend Amy. Very professional and amazing with animals!”

“our Harper had a wonderful time with Taylor. Due to something completely out of Taylor’s control I had a minor freak out during the trip and Taylor was more than helpful and responsive (answering a text at 530 am!?). We were very pleased!”

“When I hired Katie it was to watch my two cats, Ying and Yang. Katie met with me twice then my Yang passed away. Katie understood how significant this was to me and my other fur baby. She came over again to see Ying before I left. Katie got my anxiety about now leaving Ying without his brother for the first time. She went above and beyond to comfort both of us. I definitely recommend her.”

“Very caring and great photos and communication! Andrew was so nice and we felt really good with him staying at our home and watch over Madi & Emma. We’ll definitely book with Andrew again. Thank you!!!”

“Diandra was incredible! She was so communicative and so kind! She left our house in SPARKLING shape- I think it was cleaner when we got home than when we left! She swung with some annoyances too- our house lost power in 95 degree weather and I messed up our days off and asked literally the day before she was going to leave if she could spend an extra night. She was super easy going about both. I feel so lucky we found her and I will absolutely be booking with her again!”
About: I’ve always been the person animals gravitate toward. I grew up with cats and later had two Italian Mastiffs, so I’m very comfortable with both small pets and big, strong personalities. I almost became a vet at one point, but after shadowing, I realized my heart just couldn’t handle that side of things. What I do love is creating a calm, safe, and loving environment for animals to just be. In my day-to-day life, I run my own business and come from a background in events and marketing, so I’m naturally very detail-oriented and respectful of your space. I’m also a competitive figure skater, which means I’m disciplined, reliable, and consistent especially when it comes to routines and care. I keep a flexible, self-managed schedule, which allows me to be very intentional with the time and care I give to each home and pet. I’m able to adapt to your pet's routine and make sure visits feel consistent, calm, and reliable while you’re away. I approach pet care in a really intentional, calm way. I let animals set the tone and focus on creating a safe, low-stress environment where they can feel comfortable. I’m also very detail-oriented when it comes to your home. I follow routines closely, keep things tidy, and make sure everything is locked up and secure. My goal is for you to come home to a happy pet and a space that feels just as you left it.
“Rebekkah was wonderful! She took great care of our pets (and house!) while we were gone. She sent plenty of updates and pictures throughout the stay. Would definitely recommend Rebekkah for your pets care. :)”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Novi
Chloe was amazing with our two Labradors while we were away on a weekend trip! She took such great care of them and was such a great communicator throughout the whole weekend with updates and pictures which gave us so much peace of mind. Our dogs loved her! They were so happy, comfortable and well loved! We couldn't have asked for a better sitter and will definitely be booking with Chloe again. We highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring, and dependable pet sitter! Thanks Chloe!!
Absolutely Amazing!!!!! I could not recommend Jennifer enough. Her love and care for my two dogs was out of this world. They were sad to see her leave and cant wait to have their new play friend back. She took such great care of my home as well and went over and beyond. I would give her a 10 star review if it were possible.

Avery really went above and beyond for us. She spent so much time at our house with the animals- playing and walking them. She was always quick to respond or send picture requests. We ended up having to stay on a vacation for an extra day and a half and she just made it work. We are so thankful for her!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Novi on Rover is $88.8 per night (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Novi walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Novi maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Novi choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Novi. On Rover:
- 96% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 99% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
