“Emily did a great job watching my two dogs while I was out of state for the weekend. Sent me pictures when requested and I came home to everything as clean as when I left, if not cleaner. Would recommend!”

“Karlee was great with our 4-1/2 month-old Frenchton puppy for a weekend in-home stay. She kept us up to date and made us feel completely comfortable leaving our young puppy with her for the weekend. Would highly recommend her!”

“Charles took good care of our dogs, He was not fazed at the initial meet & greet when our younger but larger dog was quite excited and jumpy. He arrived on time and provided creatively silly updates on our pups. We would definitely like to book his services again.”

“Chondra was fantastic! She took great care of our dog for a week. It was great to take a vacation without a worry. Chondra sent us pictures and kept us uutdated on how things were going. She did a great job! Thank you!”
“Vanessa and Dario were amazing! They took wonderful care of my fur and feathered babies. I have already booked them for my next vacation. I came home to well taken care of and happy pets, along with a clean home! Best part was that I was able to enjoy my vacation because they sent me pictures and kept me updated on my picky eater so I knew they were doing well and happy.”

“Amy was absolutely lovely. She took such great care of our pups and our house. The dogs loved her. She also brought in our packages that were delivered! She sent pics throughout her stay which I really appreciated. I would definitely recommend Amy and will be using her services again!”

“We are so happy we discovered Abby through Rover! She stayed with our 18 year old kitty while we were away at a family reunion, and she did a wonderful job! Oliver is no easy-to-deal-with cat, as he requires medicine twice a day, eats only canned food, and also has a bottomless pit for attention. She was there for him, kept us updated, and we also found our home spotless upon our return. In addition, she kept our wild birds happy by keeping their feeders and baths full, along with watering our potted flowers. Over and above!”

“Nicholas did an amazing job house sitting for our dog and cat. He was responsive, respectful and made sure he understood our instructions prior to the sit. He sent us photos and an update daily and went above and beyond for the comfort of our pets. They will be so excited to see him again the next time we leave town!”
“Lyle watched out dog Maggie for 8 days, staying at our home. He did a wonderful job! He communicated with us everyday, including pictures. It felt so good to know she was well taken care of when we were gone. Our home was immaculate when we came home. I would not hesitate to use Lyle again, very kind man. Carin M”

“Sarah was amazing with our two dogs. She sent so many pictures and took wonderful care of our home. She even comforted our pups when fireworks were going off and walked them each day. She was able to give one of our dogs a pill each day as well. We can’t recommend her enough! We will be using her again!!!”

“Michelle was great with my Great Danes! She sent many pictures of them running around the yard, getting cozy, and just being their goofy selves. She managed meds, feeds, fun, and supported them through a stormy night. What I appreciated most is that Michelle is a great communicator! I would love to have her watch the boys again!”

“We were in a bind due to another Rover sitter backing out at the last minute. Melissa was flexible and responsive to our needs. She communicated with us frequently and shared a pic of our happy pup.”

“I will DEFINITELY use Josiah as often as possible! He followed all my instructions and my dog absolutely loved him. My beagle suffers from separation anxiety, and it's hard to find someone who not only compassionately understands his needs, but also with whom my dog feels comfortable and secure! When I arrived home, my dog was sleeping at Josiah's side. I think I finally found a perfect match!”

About: My experience and background with animals spans over the course 20 years. I've worked as a veterinary technician, fostered nearly 2 dozen puppies for rescue programs, and founded my own successful non-profit rescue & conservation program dedicated to primitive canids. I had the wonderful experience of helping one of these rare dogs whelp & raise a massive litter of 12. I've owned numerous breeds including a Beagle, working-line German Shepherd, working-line Anatolian Shepherd, and numerous primitives such Carolina Dogs, a coydog hybrid, & an imported Canaan Dog. I've trained dogs in sports such as schutzhund & nosework. I established my private dog training business in 2019- specializing in puppies and working dogs such as service & livestock guardian dogs. I've been blessed to own two wonderful cats! On our homestead we had an incredible indoor/outdoor boy that kept the rodents at bay. We also have a sweet, indoor-only kitty that lives the high life with raw food & endless cuddles! I'm thoroughly experienced in caring for senior dogs & cats, administering medications, first aid, & wound care. I've fed numerous specialized diets, including fully raw. I adore the puppy stage- including crate training, potty training, & socialization. I'm a strong advocate for socialization that bolsters confident neutrality. A puppy's endless curiosity is so fun to harness! I enjoy giving dogs a balance of outdoor exercise like hiking, as well as indoor mental enrichment like games and puzzles. A tired dog is a happy dog! I train dogs part time & homeschool my daughter- which lends me a great deal of flexibility in my schedule. I can often accommodate short notice requests. Your beloved pet's safety is critical to me. I'm extremely cautious with opening & closing doors so no animals can slip through a door, check the fit of a dog's collar to prevent potential backing out, & ensure there's nothing a pup or kitty could get into thats potentially dangerous. I have a very strong preference for using martingale collars on dogs for walks to mitigate that risk. I've personally endured the tragedy of my young dog slipping the door and being hit by a car while a sitter was taking care of him- so I assure you I take this very seriously. Building trust with both owners and their pets is pivotal! I'm committed to open communication and honesty. I allow pets to greet me on their terms and understand some animals need a more patient, gentle approach than others. I strive to create a positive, calm environment for your pets- and once I'm trusted by them, I will add the playfulness and affection they deserve!
“Milo was great! I will have him back again. He is good at daily communication and sending photos. When I got home my dog acted like I was never gone which is good because she has separation anxiety. I know she got a lot of love and attention from Milo.”

About: I have been caring for cats and dogs ever since I was young. I have cared for animals of all ages young to senior. I have experience administering pills and I have helped follow suit of owners training while they are away. I am a school bus driver for Hartland Schools so I have a split schedule, I work 5:45am-9am and then 1:45pm-4:45pm and occasionally on the weekend when I’m not dog sitting I help out as a grooming assistant! I would love to stay busy with dog and cat sitting fill during the week and weekends. **Starting end of May through September I am off from bus driving and can take on more pet sitting/drop ins/dog walking. I will be able to stay at your home more throughout the days and provide more frequent potty breaks etc. I would love to spend my summer giving lots of love and pets to your animals! I will be extra attentive and follow the same routine that they are used to. Walks, playing fetch, whatever the case may be I will do my best to make your animals feel comforted and cared for while you, the owner, is away. I will care for them as if they are my own.

New Hudson pet parents share their Rover experiences
Hiring Lyle to care for our girl while we were away for a week was truly one of the best experiences we’ve had on Rover. He is professional, communicative, and incredibly caring. It’s clear he takes what he does seriously and understands he’s caring for a member of your family, not just a pet—which gave us so much peace of mind. He sent daily updates with photos, took Gemma on walks, and made sure she got plenty of love and attention. We even came home to a detailed log of her eating, sleeping, and activity each day, which was such a thoughtful touch. We also really appreciated his flexibility when our departure and arrival times shifted. Couldn’t recommend Lyle more!
