“Emi-Lu is definitely the person you want caring for your dog when you are gone. She is thorough, detailed, kind, and compassionate. She even texted me this morning to make sure she could find my key and to ask how long our dog likes to walk. Emi-Lu is the best sitter on Rover!!”

“Thank you for taking extra care for River after is surgery. Eased my mind to see and hear that his sutures were okay, etc when I had to be at work. It’s been a tough week post-op and I appreciate the help :)”

“I am so glad to have found Erin. I loved getting updates and photos with her and Bailey. Communication was great and she always showed up between the agreed upon times. Bailey looked like she enjoyed Erin’s drop ins and walks. I would definitely use Erin’s services again. Thanks!!”
About: My experience and background with animals spans over the course 20 years. I've worked as a veterinary technician, fostered nearly 2 dozen puppies for rescue programs, and founded my own successful non-profit rescue & conservation program dedicated to primitive canids. I had the wonderful experience of helping one of these rare dogs whelp & raise a massive litter of 12. I've owned numerous breeds including a Beagle, working-line German Shepherd, working-line Anatolian Shepherd, and numerous primitives such Carolina Dogs, a coydog hybrid, & an imported Canaan Dog. I've trained dogs in sports such as schutzhund & nosework. I established my private dog training business in 2019- specializing in puppies and working dogs such as service & livestock guardian dogs. I've been blessed to own two wonderful cats! On our homestead we had an incredible indoor/outdoor boy that kept the rodents at bay. We also have a sweet, indoor-only kitty that lives the high life with raw food & endless cuddles! I'm thoroughly experienced in caring for senior dogs & cats, administering medications, first aid, & wound care. I've fed numerous specialized diets, including fully raw. I adore the puppy stage- including crate training, potty training, & socialization. I'm a strong advocate for socialization that bolsters confident neutrality. A puppy's endless curiosity is so fun to harness! I enjoy giving dogs a balance of outdoor exercise like hiking, as well as indoor mental enrichment like games and puzzles. A tired dog is a happy dog! I train dogs part time & homeschool my daughter- which lends me a great deal of flexibility in my schedule. I can often accommodate short notice requests. Your beloved pet's safety is critical to me. I'm extremely cautious with opening & closing doors so no animals can slip through a door, check the fit of a dog's collar to prevent potential backing out, & ensure there's nothing a pup or kitty could get into thats potentially dangerous. I have a very strong preference for using martingale collars on dogs for walks to mitigate that risk. I've personally endured the tragedy of my young dog slipping the door and being hit by a car while a sitter was taking care of him- so I assure you I take this very seriously. Building trust with both owners and their pets is pivotal! I'm committed to open communication and honesty. I allow pets to greet me on their terms and understand some animals need a more patient, gentle approach than others. I strive to create a positive, calm environment for your pets- and once I'm trusted by them, I will add the playfulness and affection they deserve!
“Michele helped us last minute. She was awesome with communication and sent us some cute photos on their walk. Thank you again Michele! Teddy definitely appreciated your company. 😊”

About: I’ve always had a dog or cat in my home! Growing up we always had a Golden Retriever :) My most recent dogs were two senior Chihuahua sisters I adopted and one Olde English Bulldog. They have all crossed the rainbow bridge and though I’m not ready to get another pet, I miss having them in my life. One of my seniors had diabetes so I’m trained at administering insulin as well. I’m a stay at home mom of two little boys I share with their dad, though when I have dogs stay with me they stay with their father. For boarding, I live in a wonderful neighborhood with lots of other dogs and great sidewalks for strolls or power walks if needed. I enjoy going for daily long walks myself would love the company. For walks at your home, I never skimp on time outside or if weather doesn’t permit, extra fun and love inside.

About: I have taken care of mostly dogs and cats for the past 20 years, but have also taken care of guinea pigs and lizards. I have a deep love for animals, and can care for young and old animals alike. I am a teacher who has the summer off, so my availability is very open. I am willing to work any day of the week, including weekends. I work to first build a trust and connection with the animals I care for. After that, I make a great effort to follow the clients’ requests and ensure the best care for the animals.
“I was hesitant about using Rover, however Julia made me feel very comfortable about the app! She is responsive, easy to talk to, and genuinely cares about the pets she takes care of! It is so nice to be able to go to work and know that my dog is being cared for by her! Highly recommend!”

About: I’ve been around fur babies my entire life, caring for pups of all ages, sizes, and personalities. From energetic puppies to gentle seniors, I’m comfortable using the intuitive understanding of their needs and behaviors that I have gained throughout my years to adapt my care to match each dog’s unique temperament and routine. I’ve also spent time caring for senior pets for family members, so I understand the extra patience, attentiveness, and gentleness they require, whether that means maintaining routines, supporting mobility, or offering calm companionship. On top of that, I’ve raised and cared for my own stubborn shih tzu, which taught me a lot about patience and how to handle strong-willed dogs with both structure and love. What sets my care apart from most, I don’t take a one-size-fits-all approach, I focus on truly knowing each pet as if they were my own: learning their personality, respecting their routine, and creating a safe, stress-free environment where they feel secure and loved. Clients can expect reliable communication, updates, and the peace of mind that their pet is not just being watched but cared for. As a college student home for the summer, pet care fits seamlessly into a very open and flexible schedule. With ample availability throughout the day and week, there is plenty of time to provide attentive, consistent care. This flexibility allows for adapting to each pet’s routine and ensuring they receive the time and attention they deserve. Creating a comfortable and trustworthy environment is always the top priority. Care is tailored to each pet’s routine to keep things familiar and stress-free, with close attention to feeding schedules, exercise needs, and any specific instructions provided. Walks are always done with safety in mind, using secure leashing and awareness of surroundings. In a client’s home, respect for both the space and the pet’s comfort is key: keeping things clean, calm, and consistent while maintaining open communication. The goal is to ensure every pet feels secure, cared for, and happy, while giving owners absolute peace of mind.

About: I started dog sitting in 2022 for a coworker at the time, and since then I now have 9 different families I regularly sit for. I have experience with a range of dogs (from Toy Aussies to German Shepherds) as well as cats, which I grew up with, and some experience with fish and birds. I love all kinds of animals and getting to know their individual quirks and personalities! I am primarily doing online classes for school and working part-time. My working schedule can be flexible with advanced notice so I can spend the most time with your pet(s)! Whatever is best for you and your pet is what I provide! I’ve cared for very high-maintenance dogs that need multiple walks a day, special diets, etc., as well as very chill dogs that just come in and out as they please and eat whenever they want. I’m very flexible to provide whatever care the pet requires!
“Michelle was very responsive, send us photos of our dog on his walk, and was easy to work with! She was able to accept our booking fairly last minute and we are so thankful. Earl was so happy to have a potty break on our long day of work!”
About: I have had a pet my whole life. From dogs to cats to ferrets to our farm animals. We live on two acres of fenced in yard, where your fur baby can enjoy their time outside. We have electric gates on our driveway, this ensures that your pet is safe while you are in our care. Pets are a great way for kids to learn responsibility, empathy and compassion. We have a 2 acre fenced in backyard in the country. Your dog can run and play, get their energy out and still be safe. We allow your pets on the furniture but if this is a no for you we will follow your rules as to not confuse them. We like to do a meet and greet to make sure our dog and your dog/ cat will be safe and not stressed while they visit us. We want to give your pet the best available care while you are away. Is your dog crate trained and potty trained? 5. Any special needs your dog may have or other information you would like me to know. 6. Any allergies they or your family have. 7. Are they afraid or fearful of anything? 8. What command words do you use ? 9. Do they do well on car rides and walks? We do offer pets from more then one home if we have experience with the behavior of the dogs. “Sydney is always so great with our dog! He’s an 85-pound strong boy who looks forward to his walks. Sydney’s updates are always super detailed and thoughtful. Her reliability and communication is so, so appreciated!”

“Annie is having a wonderful experience walking with Bill. He is always on time and gives her a great walk. He also is helping to train her to walk like a good girl and not jumping like a circus dog. We are so happy we found him and highly recommend.”

“Taylor has been fantastic! She is very prompt, great with our dog, and we’ve had zero issues with any of the walks. Most importantly, our dog absolutely loves her. This was our second time booking with Taylor, and this time she handled 2 walks a day for 11 days without any problems. It gave us great peace of mind knowing our dog was in such good hands. We will definitely be reaching out to her again!”

About: I have owned 2 dogs, I got my first dog at 16, trained and raised her, then rescued my second dog a year ago. I have been dog sitting for a 3 dog family for 5 years now. I am a very active person and would love to give your pups the chance to get out and get some fresh air! I work a 9-5, but am always looking to get active after work/dinner, as this is usually when I take my own dog for a walk. I am free most weekends as well. I care for my dog like I would a child! Our dog is a member of our family and we treat her as such. On walk specifically, I like to keep up with the dogs specific pace, but also allow plenty of sniff breaks as well!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
