“Mina did a great job. The meet and greet went well and she does plenty of pictures and videos multiple times a day. Our dog seemed to enjoy his time there as well! Would highly recommend.”

“Good communication, sent lots of pictures and updates throughout. Helpful and flexible with coordinating drop off and pick up times. Was really good and caring for our dog, who is elderly, needs a little bit extra attention.”

“Stephanie & Brenton took great care of Baxter, we were away for 2 weeks & during this time they sent pictures of his daily walk & adventures. They are a wonderful family & we felt the love during our meet & greet, we knew Baxter would be very well taken care of, they also take the best pictures! Thank you so much!”

“Shashank was a wonderful dog sitter for Artie! He was very flexible with my last minute schedule and he was thorough in asking questions about Artie to make sure he provided a comfortable environment. I received consistent and fun updates throughout his stay. I can tell Artie really enjoyed his vacation! I would highly recommend this sitter and will be reaching out again.”

“Winston had a great time with Teresa! Teresa took excellent care of Winston and sent us updates to let us know how he was doing. We will definitely leave Winston in Teresa’s capable hands again soon!”

“Humphrey had a great time at his stay and had a bunch of fun playing with his new friend AJ. Nicholas was a great host and was very accommodating to any of humphrey's needs! Will definitely book again with Nicholas and AJ in the future when Humphrey needs a sitter!”

“This an amazing family. My dog was so well cared for and loved. They sent me many pictures of what she was doing as it was so difficult to not have her with me. They deserve 10 stars!!!!!”

“Aaron and Misty took exceptional care of Roman. Roman had to wear the dreaded dog cone, but this lovely couple had no problems taking him in. They sent pictures and comments every day so that we could see that he was comfortable and well taken care of. We really appreciate the quality of care and love that Roman received.”

“I will absolutely be letting Tara watch Raz again. Like other reviewers mentioned, when I brought him home he could not stop sleeping, so I know he had a great time. She communicated wonderfully and sent so many pics which I loved. My pup felt right at home. Very kind and caring family as well, I’d highly recommend to anyone!”

“Laura and Manuel were friendly, easy to communicate with, and took great care of our dog. They sent some photo updates too. We would love to work with them again!”

“Melanie did a great job with Lucy, 12 year-old aussie minature. When I picked her up she was playing with Max and another little doggie too. I'll have Melonie again in the future. Thanks!”

“Catherine has sat my dogs twice, each time for about a week. When we brought them back, they were super excited to see her! Catherine kept the dogs entertained with frequent walks to the park next door and plenty of play time. She paid careful attention to our instructions to reinforce our training. Catherine handled a kerfuffle between our dogs wonderfully, separating them as soon as it happened and attending to their needs right away. She communicated clearly throughout. I highly recommend her, especially if your dog can use some additional socialization!”

“Our dog came home so happy! Sarah was amazing and I loved the daily updates with pictures. I was able to enjoy our vacation knowing our dog was in great care. She had her own little vacation with Sarah!”

“Andrew and his partner were great! They arranged a meet and greet and asked good questions to help them best care for my pup while we were away. I got daily pictures and he looked comfortable/relaxed and happy in all of them!”

“Anne was a God send! We have two dogs that both had meet and greets with her before our weekend away. Both dogs loved Anne, but we had to make some plan adjustments when one of our dogs developed a rather bad eye infection. Anne was super flexible with our plans and schedule and helped watch one of our pups, Sakari, for the weekend. She provided ample updates throughout each day, accompanied by lots of pictures and videos!! We knew our girl was in terrific hands and never had to worry while we were apart. Sakari is a bit of an anxious dog, especially with new people and settings, but she was instantly comfortable around Anne. She was taken on plenty of long walks and got all the cuddles her little heart desired while we were away. We cannot recommend Anne enough!!! We will most definitely be asking her to sit for our dogs again in the future!”

“Highly recommend Patty! She gave our slightly anxious, very large dog a great week and took care of him like her own! She also sent pics of him while we were gone- loved to be able to see how he was doing!!”

“Caroline treated my dog Ophie like he was her own. He was smiling in pictures she sent and came home happy. I would trust her anytime and felt so much more comfortable knowing he was taken care of.”

“Winston came home a happy dog! He was well cared for. They loved all of his quirky habits. Having him stay at a place where he was comfortable allowed us to have more fun on our vacation.”

Matthew was great, he was very accommodating. Our dog had plenty of play time and attention: she went on walks and loved having a fenced in yard to explore. Matthew communicated well with us. He provided plenty of updates and pictures, which we really appreciated this having been our first time using someone for boarding!

Patti was wonderful with Ghost! She provided regular updates and photos, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. She also took the time to let Ghost meet her pets, which I really appreciated. It’s clear Ghost had a great stay and felt comfortable in her care—I think he’s already looking forward to his next visit!

Rebecca was the best sitter we have ever had. She and her family genuinely loved and cared for Baxter. She provided awesome updates on his activities and interactions. We knew Baxter was well cared for and truly enjoyed his time there. I would highly recommend booking Rebecca for your next dog boarding.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MI ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
