“Lynn was very knowledgeable with dogs and very conscientiously followed my instructions. She welcomed using Cooper’s own bed for his comfort, and even suggested a piece of our clothing to ease any anxiety, since this was our guy’s first visit. Lynn communicated with me regularly to keep me informed, and sent a few pics as well! Nice knowing Cooper was well cared for.”

“Karen was very loving towards my puppy. She sent regular updates with pictures. She was open to him sleeping in the bedroom as he’s accustomed to at home which I really appreciated. She also shared concerns about his eating and worked on a solution to get him to eat better while away from home. He was a happy pup with her.”

“my dogs must have enjoyed it because they didn’t act any different getting in the car and going home. They barely missed us. I can tell this family enjoyed taking care of my dogs and I was able to enjoy my time away knowing they were in good hands.”

“Omg! Laura is the best! She is so great with dogs, keeps them safe and happy and sends you lots of pictures! It’s so much easier to enjoy time away when you know your pup is so well cared for. Thank you Laura!♥️🐶♥️”

“Highly recommend Patty! She gave our slightly anxious, very large dog a great week and took care of him like her own! She also sent pics of him while we were gone- loved to be able to see how he was doing!!”

“Very accommodating for our dog, Kona! Shelly is experienced and made the meet/greet and reservation a breeze! She was our first Rover since moving to Michigan and we’re glad she took such great care of our active dog!”

“Rachel was absolutely amazing! She sent daily photo updates and kept us informed about everything Koda was up to, which gave us so much peace of mind. It was obvious from the pictures that Koda was having the best time. Rachel was so present with her and took her on lots of fun adventures. She was very accommodating and a great communicator throughout the stay. We had a wonderful experience and would definitely recommend Rachel to anyone looking for a reliable Rover sitter!”

“Jennifer and her husband did an amazing job taking care of our pup while we were on a two-week vacation. Jen would send me pics every day so I could see all the fun he was having! He really was on a wonderful vacation of his own! I highly recommend Jennifer!!”

“JoAnn was amazing! We recently adopted a dog and were a little nervous about leaving her in a new place for the first time. We immediately felt so comfortable with JoAnn during our meet and greet visit and our pup had so much fun during her stay. JoAnn took great care of her and sent us many photos and videos every day. She went above and beyond. We will absolutely bring our dog back when we need a sitter and would highly recommend JoAnn.”

“Soos had a wonderful time doing his stay. We got daily updates with photos doing the time that we were away. Our dog enjoyed a very large fenced in back yard plus one on one attention. Would recommend and will use her again.”

About: I am a Michigan transplant and an animal person with years of experience, including as petsitter, aquarist, veterinarian technician, field scientist, and farmer. I’ve worked with all creatures great and small, and am uniquely qualified to take care of your fish tank, farm animals, and exotic pets. I am also an avid organic gardener and I love to grow my own food. I own a quaint cottage home with a fully fenced yard. All animals are allowed on the furniture so that they can indulge in the comfort they deserve. I love taking quirky puppy pics in beautiful places while on hikes and adventures. Playing is a great way to establish trust and blow off steam, and I try to capture that on camera as much as possible. I am an outdoor enthusiasts, and when I lived out West I regularly offered "adventure" packages for dogs who benefitted from extended hikes. My own dog Velma is famous on the lake for being my paddleboard companion! I would love the opportunity to work with elderly or disabled animals, and am competent administering medications. It would be my pleasure to get to know your dog, cat, chicken, shrimp, goat, bird, hamster, and any other critters in your family! Feel free to contact me for references and resume. Animal - and seasonally, garden - services are my fulltime occupation, so the care of your furry family member is my top priority. Because I work for myself, I am able to adjust my schedule as needed to accommodate my clients' needs. When staying at a client's home, my practice is to leave it cleaner than when I arrived. I value my clients' trust as one of my greatest assets, and can ensure that your home and property will be respected at all times.
“These guys were amazing!! They provided a loving home for my dog while we were away. We received frequent updates, and they treated my dog so well, I was sure she would never want to come home. I cannot recommend Chris and Cassandra highly enough. Through some glitch in the system, they were suggested to me, even though they were a 40 minute drive away. I will ABSOLUTELY be making that 40 minute drive again when my dog needs a sitter.”

“Misty did a great job watching our dog! She was flexible and responsive to drop off and pick up times, gave frequent updates, and genuinely seems to enjoy and care about animals. Judging by the pleasant smell of our dog at pickup, I think Misty even gave our dog a bath. Will be booking with Misty again in the future!”

“Jenna and family were perfect for our Aussilier Charli. We received pictures and updates throughout her 5 day stay. Our Charli came home happy, exhausted and a little more spoiled than she already is! 😊. We definitely recommend Jenna and will use her services again for our next travel.”

“If you want to treat your dog for the spa / vacation while you are gone , do not look any other place ! They are so amazing and lovely . Zoe is also a sweetheart 😍My dog fell in love with both of them instantly! I can not explain how wonderful and lovely they both are . Will definitely bring my dog back”

“Aisha was great. Very accommodating with my change in travel plans. She made the dogs super comfortable and was so kind enough to send pics of them during their stay. She’s a great communicator and responds very quickly to messages. I highly recommend her for your pet needs.”

“Ana and her Dad are so kind and friendly. Phoebe is also very friendly. She updated photos and I could tell our dog enjoyed stay with them. Good environment and wonderful people. 100% recommended!”

Nick did a fantastic job with Sterling. He sent pics and updates, as this was the first time Sterling went to in-home boarding. Sterling by nature is a bit anxious but he seemed relaxed and comfortable with the other dogs. It meant the world to us to know he was in good hands and socializing with some furry friends. We will definitely be using Nick’s services again!

Brenda and her husband Adam were amazing with our pups! My Greater Swiss Mountain Dog can intimidate some people because of his 150 lb size, but they didn’t even bat an eye. And my Havanese became her bff for the week. Brenda works from home and I knew that would be good since they would need extra attention while we were gone. She went out of her way to make them comfortable and help the feel safe. Pictures showed them lounging around just like they were at home. I will definitely book with Brenda again next time!
Melonie took exceptional care of Sasha. She was very communicative and sent plenty of pictures and videos. She was very thorough with walks and paid special attention to Sasha’s vitamins with her meals. This was my first time using Rover and I’m glad I booked with Melonie, highly recommend!

Jacklyn was absolutely wonderful with Ruby! From the moment we met, she was warm, professional, and clearly has a true love for animals. She kept me updated with regular photos and messages, which gave me total peace of mind while I was away. Ruby came home happy, well cared for, and clearly enjoyed her time with Jacklyn. I couldn’t have asked for a better sitter and will definitely be booking with her again. Highly recommend!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MI ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
